Mercure Samui Chaweng Tana

The hotel looks even nicer than in the pictures. It stands out from most of the properties in the neighbourhood. The location is amazing, very quiet and relaxing, part of the busiest Chaweng beach. It is only 15 15-minute walk away from the busiest spot in Koh Samui but distant enough to avoid all the nightlife noise. Breakfast is good. Not a 5-star luxury resort type of breakfast but plenty of good and delicious food available. Will certainly satisfy everyone. The restaurant is amazing and cooks very delicious Thai food. We ate all our lunches at the Mercury restaurant and it is really good. Rooms are large with good air conditioning and large bathrooms. Plenty of space for two adults.

The number of sunbeds is inadequate for the number of hotel rooms. If you want to get a sunbed, you have to wake up at 6 am and go to the beach or pool area to place your towel. If you are late, all sun beds are taken. The hotel tried to improve it during our stay and bought additional sunbeds; however, these were poor-quality plastic sunbeds without any padding.

The pool!, location, clean and new spacious rooms, nice balcony, good WiFi, friendly staff, lots of books to borrow, the fresh coconuts, the pool bar, late check out possible for us, airport transfer was arranged (for a fee), dinner at the beach, the nets and beany bags to sit on

For us only small downside was breakfast- very limited choice (but what they offered was very good eg the fresh omelette) , so gets a bit repetitive if you stay for a week, the coffee was not the best, very limited outdoor seating with view of pool and sea ; also the sunbeds are not the most comfy (no pillows on top) and the beds in the room are on the very hard side

Property was really amazing. One of the best places to really chill, take sun bath, chill at beach and at pool. Staff was really helpful, facilities were good, though they can be increased. Best thing of the resort was hanging shacks and balcony. Personalized attention for vegetarians for breakfast.

Early checkin wasnt provided even after sharing the request long time before. Indian variety of breakfast can be increased Facilities like billiards table, common room facilities.

Attractive Hotel , good in comparison to others at similar price points that looked tired / not so well kept. Mercure is a well kept and very clean with a nice sense of arrival. There hotel is centred around the swimming pool which is a feature of the hotel. Direct beach access at a nice spot on the beach with a variety of lounging options for sunbathing. Easy for swimming in either sea or hotel pool. Great Beach Bar, Narler who runs the bar makes some of the best cocktails , smoothies and shakes. All reasonably priced. Happy Hour between 3pm -5pm. Both western and local food available. Free use of hotel paddle board on beach. Rooms are a good size- clean , light and airy. Daily cleaning team are very good. Hotel is within 20-30 mins walk of Chawang central. Easily walkable if you like a stroll or jump on one of the shuttle trucks for 40 baht. The hotel staff are all very polite and helpful. I would stay here again if I was returning to Koh Samui.

A fairly limited offering of bathroom essentials. Shower in room can be temperamental.

Very nice new Hotel with swimming pool going through whole property. The Hotel is not so big, so it is 1min walking distance to the streets of Chaweng and also to the beach. The beach has white soft sand, it is very clean and well kept. The Hotels has 3 bars, we liked Happy hours, very good for tasting Cocktails. The breakfast was good, there was also choice of Thai food for breakfast. Personal is nice and very helpful.

The main restaurant offered Thai food buffet dinner, which wasnt very tasty in comparison with other restaurants. There is no information about Box jellyfish risk of harm at the reception or from anybody. There is only small warning sign on the beach.

Wow this hotel we found by chance on a walk down Chaweng Beach. It is beautiful. Very understated, chic, so comfortable with lots of attention to detail. It feels like a boutique experience. The breakfast was lovely and the restaurant is gorgeous. It really is a gem of a hotel. Whoever designed it has really thought through the flow of the place. We stayed in 10 hotels during our trip and this was in our Top 2 (alongside hotel Muse in Bangkok), it truly feels like a hidden gem of a place. My son (11) loved the swimming pool, wow so big and unusual so interesting if you are spending a long time in in, the catamaran net beds overlooking the sea and the swing seats at the beach bar. Our room had a beautiful little balcony overlooking the indoor bit of the pool and was nicely decorated and very very comfortable and large.

One day a group of 10 Israeli guests were being very loud at the pool including playing music really loud from a speaker. The hotel should have asked the guests not to play their won music by the pool. they also had their own drinks including gigantic bottle of vodka. Lucky for us they only stayed an hour but it disturbed the peaceful atmosphere and would have ruined the experience had we been there for longer and had it been a frequent occurrence. The hotel staff should not be afraid to speak to the guests as it isn't fair on all the other guests if they don't.

Perfect location, great design, great swimming pool. Rooms are very clean and staff is very nice. They have a counter for tour planning.

Breakfast should be improved, a bit below the standards of a Mercure chain hotel. Mercure should team up with other resorts along the beach for beach clean up, although in front of the hotel it was mostly clean.

Everything was perfect. The hotel has a very smart location. The facilities are excellent. Some rooms have access to the pool. The beach is small but really has everything. We literally loved every moment. Amazing value for money. We will definitely come back. A special mention to Luan at the info desk that was very sweet and helpful during the entire stay.

We have a few suggestions: buy more coccunt for the beach bar. Be more flexible with the loss of the keys. Service at dinner could be improved. Fresh juice in the breakfast would be nicer. But overall, the experience was 10 out of 10.

Location and pool was perfect.

We had 4 rooms for our group. At checkout when we had a taxi waiting to take us to the airport, the reception staff said that Apparently there was a coffee mug missing from one of the rooms and we had to pay for it. In all our travels across many countries we have never come across such a ridiculous concept. The mug could have been anywhere or the housekeeping staff could never have put it there in the first place. We could have stood and argued but given the driver waiting for us and a flight to catch we just paid for what it’s worth. Just a word of caution for all prospective bookings make sure your coffee bars in the room are checked as they seem to charge for simple things which are quite commonly accounted as typical losses in hotel operations.

Everything was outstanding - the pool bar, pool, beachfront and the hospitality! My boyfriend and I had a fantastic 9 nights here, and would definitely come back again! One of the best hotel we have ever stayed. There’s a little restaurant opposite side of the hotel, and it’s called little boat - great value and really tasty!

Nothing much to be honest, but there’s no 7-11 close by so make sure you stock up your water when you are out and about. Also, they don’t have hair conditioner, tooth brush and tooth paste so make sure you bring some before arrival.
