ibis budget Zurich Airport

We have stayed her multiple times in the past and it's a great location for the airport and the Zurich Open Air festival. The rooms are small but clean and do the job - remember it's a budget hotel so don't expect too much and you will be fine. As we have stayed her multiple times we requested a specific room which is well away from lifts and is always quiet (even during the festival weekend). We were extremely happy to be given the exact room we asked for. We traveled with friends who took up the breakfast option and said it was pretty basic for the price. Personally I have never bothered with it - you can get a much better deal at the airport or cafe in Zurich. Wifi is fast.

The pillows are awful and they only give you 1. I always ask for an extra one at reception now.

The location of the hotel is 2 stops from the airport by the tram with regular services, with the station at the hotel being directly across the road. The room serves its purpose well wih a small desk in the corner. There are fullly working blinds and blackout shutters on the windows, which is great for blocking out light if needed.

The airport is listed as a budget hotel, as to be expected, there aren't luxuries included within the hotel. The lighting within the room is fairly poor and only provides low-light conditions. There are touch-sensitive light controls in the middle of the bed's headboard, which multiple times I accidentally activated when sitting up. The breakfast is standard for a budget hotel (and standardised all Ibis Budget hotels), although the hottest food you can get is toast. As the hotel is located directly next to the airport, it is also located directly next to one of the runways - This can mean that loud aircraft can be flying directly over the hotel at anywhere from 6am to 11.30pm.

I was contacted on my private mobile phone by the receptionist - man, the day after I left the hotel, I didn’t answer and he started to call me , I didn’t answer again and blocked him. He was contacting me from his personal phone totally breaching data protection and secrecy. He was searching for romantic texting, maybe something more. I was never contacted by the hotel it self therefore it was not related to my obligations or anything. I don’t want my name to be shared with this man. But I want you to know about this episode. More over he did the same with other friend who also stayed in this hotel.

The hotel fulfills its purpose as a transit hotel. It is quick to take the tram 2 stations from the airport to the hotel. The staff is nice. The rooms are small but fulfill their function. Everything was clean and good, but it is a budget hotel and is designed with everything in the room after that. So pretty basic.

I would not stay here if I am going to stay longer than one night. The bed is a little on the hard side. There are no restaurants worth mentioning nearby, so my suggestion is to eat and buy what you might need at the airport before you get to the hotel to avoid going back.

Clean. Elevator. The pizza place next door was terrific! Breakfast was 14€ and had a huge selection of foods that I wanted to eat! The tram was conveniently located across the street. Soundproof rooms. Vending machines in the lobby. And we used them. Except for the pizza place next door, there are no other options if you don't have a car- unless you want to take the train into Zurich. We didn't want to do that. Nothing to dislike, except that it was Switzerland and everything was expensive. That pizza was the ONLY option-we didn’t have a car. The Margarita pizza was the least expensive thing on the menu at 17€, and it was delicious!

The location is quite close to the tram station - I would say take a 50 steps and you’re there. The staff is really helpful and charming I must say. The hotel provides all facilities - just ask for it. Budget friendly as the name says. Really good for short stays especially if your motive is just travel (tourism) and you have to come back to the hotel at night just to sleep!

As the pictures shows, the rooms are small - but in a budget hotel, this meets your expectations. I asked for a plate for my food that I had brought with me… but the hotel only provided me with cutlery as they were no plates.

I’m surprised this hotel does have better reviews! it’s a great value hotel, with excellent staff and comfy beds. We got a triple room, with my kid really enjoying his top bunk. The hotel is two tram stops away from the airport, and is about 50 m away from the tram stop. Its an easy direct tram line to the city. We were able to do an early check in for an extra 30 cfs, which was a relief after our super long flight and jet lag kids. They also offer a free luggage keeping. Breakfast was sufficient with a surprisingly really good espresso! We really enjoyed our stay!

fantastic welcome, very friendly. It's very close to the airport (five mins on tram) and main station(35 mins on direct tram). The staff were great- all of them were helpful, smiling and cheerful. breakfast was simple, but tasty and filling - coffee was good and this is important to me. hotel was really clean (even compared to five star hotels I have stayed in). did not feel like a one star hotel, more like a three star.

the surrounding area was a bit industrial and maybe feels a bit rough. also may seem expensive, but compared to some other places its a bargain. it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room to make a tea or coffee early in the morning. some might not like the shower cubicle in the room - the room was cosy and very clean and I wasn't bothered by airport or road noise. one thing i didn't like was the soft touch light switches - it takes about half an hour to work out which switches operate which lights, annoying when you are trying to sleep.

Location was good - tram stopped right in front of the hotel. Staff was excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. Hotel price was very welcome.

The low flow shower head was awful. Loud, sprayed everywhere and holder was not adjustable. Also spray was so light that soap didn’t wash down the drain easily. This is a slipping hazard. There was no bath mat for stepping out of the shower. Certainly not peaceful and relaxing shower. View from the window of the lower floor was a grass berm with a road above. Glad the stay was brief. A few changes would make a great difference.

Nothing to add, hotel was as expected and was well connected with the downtown. There is a tram station right in front of the hotel and in 30 minutes you are downtown and if you are coming back to it at night, there is a train station 5 minutes from the hotel and there are trains running every hour. Hotel had everything I was expecting and paid for. It's not luxurious but will do the job and everything was super clean and well organized.

Nothing to add, I really recommend the hotel as it was the cheapest option for accommodation in Zurich that I could find.
