Hotel Krone

Great hotel in a local town, which has excellent transport connections over the road, bus 311 takes you to ferry and train terminals within 10 mins. When you arrive if no one on the desk, just ring the number on the sign within seconds you are told your room, have access to your key straight away. Room was cleaned daily, hotel always clean and cleaning staff very friendly. The breakfast staff always welcoming, our party had gluten allergy it was no. Issue providing gluten free option at breakfast, just tell them on your booking. Room spaceous with a safe, plenty of storage and bathroom always had hot water available. Fridge in room which we stocked up over the road from Spar which is open 7.30-7pm. Kettle in room, you have glass cups which hold hot drinks maybe worth bringing your own if you prefer a mug. Local 5 minute walk to lake, swim and paddle board which has nice snack restaurant which doesn't break the bank, food is nice called Romys. Ferry terminal Beinfried is next town which has great ferry connections in the lake. Would recommend staying here if you want a base for central Switzerland. You won't be disappointed. Locals really friendly, no tourist traps at restaurants etc.

Checking in was a little confusing as Booking.com had one number there was different one on the desk. Main road can be little noisey around 7.30am kids going to school.

Room was relatively modern, equipped with mini-fridge and quite spacious, which is rather unusual in expensive places such as Switzerland. Mattresses were good. Request for additional pillows was promptly answered. High pressure shower. Convenient location to explore the region (Lucerne, Engelberg, etc.). Free parking. Small quiet town with beautiful lakefront (walking distance from hotel). Flexibility to accept my request to adapt duration of my stay (from 4 nights to 3), after the stay had already commenced. Basic breakfast included in the price. Overall good value for money.

Service at breakfast was disappointing (cleaning / preparation of tables, availability of cutlery, restocking of breakfast items...). Not very good sound-proofing in the room. Double bed is actually two single beds which you can place together.

It was a short night-over stop on our way down to Italy. The room was spacious and clean. No frills but the bed was big and the bathroom came with a hairdryer. It is located right next to the Luzerne lake to have a walk. There is Spar supermarket right in front of the hotel. There is a reserved parking spot for hotel guests in front of the hotel.

The only thing that was not disapointing was the breakfast, which was included in the price. The quality of the things offered was really subpar. The only nice thing from the breakfast was the possibility to boil your own egg the way you like it.

Staff was very friendly, food at the restaurant was good. Breakfast was also good, great coffee, fresh bread and a delicious fruit salad. Room was very spacious and clean. We had a nice walk to the lake, the views were breath taking and a very relaxing atmosphere. We only stayed one night since we were on the way to Italy, the hotel wasn't far from the highway. No problem to find a parking spot behind the hotel.

No air-conditioning in the room, nor a fan. Food at the restaurant was a bit expensive.

Very good breakfast. Loved our room, large and airy and very clean. the staff were kind andhelpful when we asked for anything. Although there were many other guests, the hotel was always peaceful.

We would have appreciated to be informed on arrival of the city pass which would have helped us save money on boat rides, trains, etc.

Perfect location, everything very clean, new and cosy. Staff speaks fluent English and everyone was very friendly. Felt like home! Parking is included in the room price, that is also very nice. And tasty breakfast!

The only tiny minus was that the room is without a/c, so we had to leave the windows open (our stay was in June). It got rather loud outside since like 5 a.m. in the morning, so we didn’t get enough sleep because of that

Walking down to the lake was great. The views were superb and it was only a 7 minute walk. The breakfast was plentiful as there was a buffet. It was also located right next to the bus station which also comes from the train station at Stans. We were able to get to the boat pier in the morning using the bus and it was very easy with google maps.

The bells are constantly ringing however that is common in Switzerland.

Being close to Lucerne and Tesla Supercharger was a great advantage for us. In addition, the town where it is located is quiet, calm and has a very beautiful nature. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a fridge and kettle as a facility. It has free parking facility. Breakfast was very satisfying and varied. The price is considered affordable for Switzerland.

Pillows could have been a little firmer

Beautiful views from hotel rooms value for money so peaceful location shop 1 min away bus 1 min away close to Titlis mountain.

Breakfast very poor only cold ham and cheese plus boiled eggs some cereals for kids , warm sausages and scrambled eggs will definitely help to feed the belly but I wasn't expecting anything more for the price of the B&B, hotel definitely need new pilows.

The breakfast was good but some things ran out on busy days and were not always replenished.

Terrible pillows. As a previous frequent visitor it was disappointing to see that the garden area was neglected with pots of dead plants and weeds. It always used to be such a nice area to sit in the summer but now looks unloved and neglected.
