Vista Lakefront Boutique Hotel

What a location! Our first time to Ascona and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The team are great and extremely helpful. There are a couple of parts to the hotel, the actual seafront part and the part we stayed in, which is set just behind, so no view of the lake, however the rooms are new, fresh and clean. The breakfast buffet is served in the front part of the hotel and everything was well presented and delicious. Although in a restricted area, pick-up and drop-off by car is allowed and parking is available nearby. The public car park at the end of the pedestrian area has no height restriction (useful for campers and roof boxes) and EV charging points. 20€ covered parking for the night.

We had a great stay, we couldn't have hoped for better.

Close to the lake, clean and modern rooms. Friendly staff, buffet breakfast was great with gluten free options. AC was very powerful.

Some rooms are tiny. Our bathrooms only counterspace was a small shelf above the toilet and the back edge of the tiny sink. Fortunately, the bed was super close, and we weren't there to hang out in the room.

Having balcony overlooking lake was magical. Well setup comfortable room. Bathroom small but perfectly formed. Parking garage arrangement very efficient. Possibility of driving onto pedestrian street to unload very helpful. Didn’t take breakfast, generally bought coffee and pastry from open terrace cafes. Recommend this location

Cold May weather!

Buffet breakfast is good though somewhat expensive. No vegetables were included in the buffet but were served upon request.

The building we stayed in was partly under construction, and noisy during the day as a result. Not a question of dislike, but driving to the hotel is via a pedestrian area, and parking is at a distance requiring about seven minutes walk.

Location was lovely, maid service very friendly and efficient. Breakfast delicious and plentiful. Room was really clean and modern. Bed extremely comfortable. Having a kettle was great for making drinks. The shower was really powerful, they often are not in hotels.

The room was really rather small. A small fridge would have been of benefit, was surprised there wasn’t one.

Our room was located in a small street behind the Piazza Motta (seafront). Was a bit noisy due to partying people and bars around. Size of the room (bit small but ok for one night) and the fact that parking is not right around (Migros, 550m) the building.

Breakfast was good, though not always served in the hotel. The balcony was excellent.

Nothing except the bill, which was outrageous. When I checked in, I told the reception lady that we might have leave early because on of my wife’s sisters was close to dying. That is what happened and I was shocked to be told that we had to pay for the whole booked period, not the time we stayed. It left a bad taste in our mouths.

shower has more flow potential than drain so be careful, you can easily flood the bathroom in a moment of ignorance. tons of construction from 7AM. was impossible to sleep in. won’t come back for a few years until that’s done but maybe in a while a great place to stay.

THE hotel is in an excellent location in the middle of “everything”. Our room nr. 5 had it’s own entrance, 2 small balconies, a large shower with really hot water and great pressure, the beds were comfortable and the room size (nr5) large with a small table and chair. The safe is big enough for a couple of laptops. The room was designed beautifully and was super clean. The reception (in another building) was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, also served in another building (same as reception) was great. No hot food except boiled eggs, but fantastic bread, cheese, ham, juices, cereal yougurt etc. Really lovely. We will come back here.

The pillows were a bit flat. Reception was lovely and gave us an extra pillow. The Italian restaurant outside the room was loud, but closed so early that it didn’t bother us. A refrigerator could have been a luxury adding (especially in the summer I can imagine).

we did not have breakfast. There was a kettle and teabags in the room. Not everyone likes tea. It would have been nice to have some nescafe bags as well. I loved the fact that there were two separate duvets on the bed.

Next time I will make sure to ask for a room with a large bed. The one we had was a bit small for my tall husband
