Mirage Colombo

The rate of exchange used for settlement of US 52 was exorbitant tried to charge me @ 330 after a protest dropped it to lkr 321 per $ but even this was high. They claimed it was Bookings.com rate which is a lie because the same morning I checked out of another property in Kandy Eearl's regent where they charged me only @ lkr 310 This is a ploy to extract extra money from guest.

The Location was superb......it's a sea-view room...specious

As the property fulfill my expectation so I don't find to tell any negative issue

A decent hotel facing the beach, the Mirage suffers a little from its maintainence and upkeep. The room furniture is dated and looks past its refurbishment date. The breakfast spread is good and the dining room has great views. The pool is small and barely ok for a few laps. The staff is polite and smiling and try their best to sort out issues.

The AC in my room was totally ineffective the first night - I complained but it was a little late. Next day, the techs spent the better part of an hour to sort things and it worked better. The hotel is overated as a 4 star....the location being the only saving grace

- We felt like a bit of hotel-style luxury for our final night in Sri Lanka without paying Shangri-La prices, Mirage was perfect. They upgraded us for free to a double sea view room which had THE most amazing views, there is basically nothing between your bed a a huge open sea horizon view, plus the room was absolutely massive for the price we paid - Staff organised us a cheap and efficient Airport transfer and were generally really nice, it's about 45 - one hour from the main airport - We did not have breakfast or eat here so can't comment on that - The infinity pool overlooking the sea was a great addition - It was great value for a one night stop over before a flight

It is an older hotel but so are almost all of the ones we saw in Colombo, they all are and this was definitely up there with the nicer ones

We checked in on Valentine's Day and had certain criteria for our meals, and the Chef went out of his way to accommodate our requests which was highly appreciated. Our friends had an enjoyable meal. The rooms were spacious with an ocean view, which was spectacular especially when the trains pass by. The beach is clean and offers a superb view. Although the rooms needs to be updated but the beds were comfortable. Certainly would recommend this hotel.

The hotel rooms needs an update, otherwise it is a good hotel to stay.

Nice seaview rooms

Fist day we saw small cockroaches in the room 407.

The rooms are massive and the view of the Indian Ocean is to die for. Great set up with two double beds, large bathroom and suitable area to work from and also a lounge. The pool is also fantastic, with the same great view and the restaurant had a very good variety at very reasonable prices. Staff were lovely as well.

The place is a little dated but still lovely. The internet wasn’t great, so not a great option if need for work. Has lovely balcony but cannot use, which was disappointing. While the view is great, the train line runs along the beach, so can be a little noisy.

Everything was good. The location was very nice and the food was exceptional. The bathroom was quite spacious. The room service exceeded all expectations and they were very friendly. The manager even made an omelet for my 10-year-old daughter and she was very pleased.

I had a big a nice room with view on the ocean. The pool was also nice and the food in the restaurant was really good.

I was on the 7th floor and it was not allowed/possible to open the balcony door. It is really loud outside because of the traffic and the trains.

Fantastic sea views. Big room, nice bathroom. Used bar on 2nd floor which was lovely. A little out of town but I chose that for the end of my trip

Only one socket to recharge phone and it was across the room. Balcony seemed to be shared there were cigarette butts out there when I first arrived.
