Hotel San Millán

Staff are very easy and comunicative, The position is strategic to go to Santander's city center and there is always parking. You can use the gymnasium for free and the SPA is only 10 euros extra to get in (I have not tried them). Beds are comfy and the space is the room is bigger than normal.

I've found strange that the second night which we booked directly at the hotel was a lot cheaper that the one from booking (85 vs 99) so I wounder why via booking it's more expensive. MAybe it's because we've got a triple bedroom even if we booked a double, (I don't know!) The quality of the diner in the hotel is poor and you can't change a comma from the menu as I wanted to have a simple salad instead of the 2 offered plates that I didn't like and they said no :-(

We were allowed to keep our cat in the room, which was a good size with comfortable chairs. The restaurant menu is super-value, although this last visit it was reduced a bit since we hadn't booked ahead and were actually given a table after closing time. The food is basic but very well-cooked. It's nice to eat out on the terrace and a wee gazebo, down steps, is ideal for windy or wet evenings.

The only thing I don't like, which we did know in advance, is that there is no cooked menu at weekends, due to functions, spa or something like that. There is still food, but very limited. For this reason, we will only book this hotel, before the ferry, if we will be there during the week.

Friendly reception staff. Good location for the ferry port and very good value for food which was very good. Rooms were a very good size. Lots of parking but people park badly taking up too much room, we parked on side street. The spa looked good but we didn't have time to use it as driven from southern Spain that day and catching ferry back to UK the next day.

No kettle to make tea and coffee and no usb ports in our room to charge phones. We did have our own adapter so not a huge problem for us but others may want to take a Spanish plug you can add your own USB charger to.

The rooms were comfortable with great views. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. It was great to have a cafe bar on site that sold some snacks, including pastries for breakfast. Some great restaurants nearby. Lots of open car parking.

The only thing that was disappointing was that the pool was part of the spa and we needed to pay to use it but we weren't really aware of this when we booked (we must have missed it in the property information). It's part of a wellness centre but I thought it would have been free for guests.

Very professional and approachable staff, who love to talk to you in English. virtually all speak English. Large Very clean bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, with large well lit corridors leading to the rooms. Great view of Santander harbour and Airport just in front of the mountains. ( very low level of noise from both areas). lots of parking space. Really nice, tasty and simple food served, which was hot and looked good. Good choice of hot and continental breakfast at a fair price. There is a small cafe inside to hotel, where you can purchase coffee, cold drinks, and hot and cold snacks.

Can’t say we disliked anything. Thought that the Gym, Spa and pool would be noisy, (which was on the floor below our room), but we didn’t have any problems with noise, even with all the windows open.

Easy to get to. Great views over the city, Docks and airport ( when it’s not misty). Perfect location for stopping when coming off the ferry, before setting off driving to the South of Spain, and again for travelling up to the ferry the day before. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast are very good. Tasty and good value. small coffee bar open 24 hours, which we found great.

Very slight noise from the gym below, but I wouldn’t say that it disturbed us. i’m sure there are rooms available which are not located immediately above the gym.

The room was good beds comfortable very clean, although we take our own dog bed, the dog bed in the room was a nice touch. The restaurant was good lady in charge very pleasant and welcoming.

No AC and poor signage we went into a tiny car park through double gates clearly not the car park. When we eventually found the car park no signs and we walked right around the building in very hot sun with our luggage. We are both 69 and disabled not a great start.

The room was very spacious with comfortable beds. The evening meal menu was very good value for money as we're the bar prices.

There is a €10 charge per person to use the spa facilities, which was not clear on Booking.com and this is excessive €5 would be more appropriate. The shower was over the bath with no grab rail making it difficult for some with limited movement.

I have stayed here frequently, it’s a typical easy going, friendly, clean, well priced hotel near to the city with a big gym, splash pool, sauna ....the staff are always perfect, the rooms are spotless clean, everything is perfect and I have paid much more for much less....also local cafes and bars within 5-10 mins

Hotel San Millan is set on a hill with a view across the town of Santander. The room was large and simply furnished. The bathroom was also quite big. Good wifi

The room was on the 3rd floor on top of the gym provision, at times thumping music was easily felt and heard...presumably from an exercise class. Our stay was Monday...if it had been Saturday or Sunday the restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner. The bar had pastries and so on but a meal would have meant leaving the hotel
