Hotel Caribe

Our first visit to the caribe and we were pleasantly surprised with the overall look and feel of the hotel. Our room request was suitable adhered too which was a lovely surprise as this is not usually taken any notice of, the bedroom was impressive looking and certainly big enough with good storage and room to get around comfortable, our only blip with the whole hotel is the mattress, my oh my are they hard, felt like trying to sleep on a bag of compressed sawdust, luckily we had a child daybed and I had to sleep on that! Food, great selection of fresh dishes that changed daily and the puds are a delight if not on the waistline! Pool facilities are great and the best childrens section I’ve ever seen, overall great 3 star hotel who look like they have got it right x

The beds were appalling, worst we have ever had, hard doesn’t even come close to how they were, god only knows what they are stuffed with, a real shame because everything else was lovely, come caribe sort the ,mattresses out x

Location is amazing, 2 minute walk to the beach and restaurants etc. Gorgeous food and helpful staff. Nice room and aircon was lovely in 30 degree heat! Pool was warm and inviting. Half board was great value and included drinks/wine/sangria etc - we enjoyed local restaurants for lunch. Very european so food was varied and lots of choice. Good for families and couples, cant wait to go back!

No thermometer for air con so ice cold when its on, but too cold to keep on through the night. Beds were quite hard. The usual early morning towels on sunbeds was annoying - need more parasols. But loved it despite these niggles.

Very easy to get to from the airport; buses go frequently that will get you to just a short walk from the hotel or plenty of taxi's outside arrivals at the airport. Hotel was spotlessly clean at all times, plenty of seating indoors, including around the bar and also on way to restaurant - good to meet for drinks. There is a really nice outdoor pool with plenty of sunloungers around it. There is also a small childrens pool next to a shallow splash area with slides and water fountains, our 3 year old loved it and spent a lot of time in here! There is also a playground near the pools and an indoor area for children to play in as well. Wide range of food options in the restaurant, we had breakfast and dinner included and found this sufficient, filled up at breakfast and then had an early dinner. There was entertainment on each evening, outside, including a children's disco before various entertainment after that. Lifts upto all floors, very accessible facilities. Had a balcony overlooking the pools with table and chairs out there to sit and relax. The beach is a very short walk away, cross the road the hotel is on and the beach is there. Here you can hire pedalos, go on a boat trip, catch the ferry to different islands or visit one of the bars/restaurants. There is also a beach club right on the water that we didn't visit, but plan to when we return next year. We booked a boat trip on the glass bottomed boat which was brilliant, bought the tickets and waited for it right on the water, would highly reccommend this. We found this hotel perfect for us and our 3 year old, we had everything we needed so easily nearby but there was also plenty to do to keep her occupied at the hotel if we didn't fancy going out. Very clean hotel, wide range of food and all the staff were lovely and so helpful. We will definately book again and stay longer to explore more of the island!

This hotel is spotless, can not fault the food and drink. Good variety at breakfast. Served 8-10:30 Continental cheese, ham, fruit, pastries, cereal and English breakfast too. fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash browns, fried toast ect. Linch 1-2:30 again lots of choice and more so at dinner 7-9:30. Small selection of snack food near the kids pool served all day, pizza, nuggets sandwiches, chips. This hotel has a big pool with lots of sunbed availability. Main pool has a large shallow section where adults can sit and small children can stand and at its deepest is 2.10m it also has a lift to lower reduced mobility guests into the water. Only minor gripe is no Lilo/inflatables allowed. There is also a childrens pool area knee depth water and 6 slides and a splash bucket. Has another small pool attached too without slides ect. There’s a playground opposite and indoor kids space, not much toys in there to be honest but I kept my 3yo entertained for 30 mins or so a day. There was entertainment most nights a mini disco around 8:30 and 9:45 a quiz, or singer, parrot show ect. Just a stones throw away from the Suneo Caribe is a beach with pedalows to hire and bars, shops, restaurants glass bottom boat €12 and a small fair. Charlie’s bar has good entertainment on of a night, with screens to watch for people sitting outside. Couple more beaches within walking distance. The hotel has ample free parking and the staff were all very friendly. It’s in a good location not quiet but not too loud either, very suitable for families and all the other guest we encountered on our stay were lovely. (A mix of British, Dutch, spanish) A good few English TV channels in the room too. It is a really good 3* hotel.

Had a good stay! There are areas which could be improved possibly to make 4* (rooms are a little basic/small) if you leave your card in the slot to keep the air con on the cleaner will take it out. No lilos/inflatables allowed in pool Wifi not great Not many If any toys available in the childrens play room Daytime entertainment was a little lacking/basic- shuffleboard/ping pong/ water polo

I'm in love with the room - very efficient usage of the space, very comfortable bed - amazing room - definitely exceeding expectations. Especially on the contrast with a different 4 star hotel I moved from. The room in Caribe hotel was better :) Great personnel.

It's a matter of personal taste, but I wasn't happy with the food, I wouldn't recommend half board. Maybe only get breakfast. There is no proper coffee machine, so coffee was not great either 5 out of 10. I was in September and it was hot and busy, so I didn't even dream of trying to get by the pool. In general it felt like there were too many people and - quite a big restaurant space and not a small swimming pool - seemed tiny and overcrowded most of the time.

Staff friendly and helpful.. We were late arriving but a sandwich was offered etc. Room was fine. Food was good with occasional excellence. Pool music was sometimes too loud.... and the towels on sunbeds issue needs to be sorted. No signs saying beds cannot be reserved so it was left up to guests to row about it! I have stayed many times at Caribe and it is my hotel of choice in Es Cana.

Towels/sunbeds isssue - needs sorting out. Maybe restrict the number of inflatables in the pool - or restrict the number of children!! Some chalk for the pool cues would not go amiss.

Thanks for the beautiful vacation! The hotel has good accomodations, it is quiet and it has a good view. The activities are fun with the animation crew and the charisma of Hugo the animation chief, from darts to water polo games in the swimming pool up to the aqua gym class in the morning (very effective), plus the evening show and various mini-games for all the family and karaoke! The concierge staff was very kind and professional, friendly and multi language. One special mention goes to the restaurant which is very professionally conducted, the restaurant manager runs the staff with gentle effectiveness and makes everything work properly. The crew is very efficient and friendly from the chefs up to the the waiters. The food selection has a good variety, from pizza to meat and has very good desserts and fruit. Personally I would recommend to improve something on the drinks side, but nothing to complain about it. The bar at swimming pool was very efficient and friendly. The lifeguard also very kind and professional. I’d suggest to improve the gym activities and more crew on the animation staff. Score: 8/10

- There is a serious problem with WIFI. There is a strong signal, but the router does´nt allow you to connect. I suppose it is a simple issue that could be easily solved, but at the moment it´s impossible to have wifi service.

The hotel was situated in a relatively quiet part that was suitable for families. It was more or less a half an hour to the other side of the island. I really liked the large swimming pool and the tasty breakfast buffet.

You had to pay for everything in the bar immediately rather than having it booked on your account. The pool closed at 19.30 even though it is still hot in the evenings. The gym had very narrow opening times. 11-13.30 & 15.00-16.45.

it was a fantastic location right next to the beach, bars and restaurants. also very close to the ferry port to get to other parts of the island. room was clean and all the staff spoke English and were so incredibly helpful. it felt very safe and as a solo traveller that was the best part. the pool area was massive with both a kids and adults pool. lots of sun beds and seats.

I only had breakfast and although the pastries were great, bread was fresh and food was nice. I felt there wasn’t much variety (a large selection but it didn’t change at all each day) and their was only around 3/4 fruit options a day. that was the only fault and it wasn’t a big deal as still lots of options but is the only thing I can find an issue with as the hotel was unbelievable great!
