Hotel Castillo Bonavía

Location was excellent, close to the main road but shielded enough to not be bothered by any noise, hotel clean and good selection on the menu in the restaurant for diner and breakfast. Staff very friendly and the basic suite that we had was well laid out, clean and comfortable.

Nothing every thing was good, there could of been a problem as the breakfast room was not to opening until 9.00am in the morning as it was the weekend but we needed to have breakfast at 8.00am to fit in with our travel plans and the hotel obliged and they started breakfast at 8.00 for us and several others.

The hotel is well placed for a stay when travelling through Spain. It is convenient for the motorway and petrol station next door. The all inclusive price for room, breakfast and dinner at a reasonable cost is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and there are lifts to the upper floors. Breakfast and dinner were very good and plentiful.

During our visit not many of the staff spoke English. Not much of a problem but sometimes awkward. Don't seem to go in for pillows only a bolster.

The whole place is just wonderful. Warm welcome, beautiful room (worth a little extra for a suite) we had a lovely evening. After a long drive it was lovely to have a nice jacuzzi bath and then go down for a few drinks at the super friendly bar and in for a delicious supper. Plenty of safe (free) parking. Great WiFi. Good range of toiletries in the spacious bathroom. Nice selection of teas and coffee and chilled water in the mini bar. Half board is amazing value we've paid more for a basic room only in an Ibis!

Simply amazing! Took my grandsons back to their favourite place in the world. Last year the receptionist declared them to be knights and they were thrilled to be returning. Wonderful welcome. Great dinner and fabulous wines. Booked the deluxe suite so they could sleep in ‘the kings bed’ - bed was huge so Daddy slept in with them and grandparents swapped for the family room. They really enjoyed the pool too.

Not one thing!

The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. We were ok with the bath being in the bedroom but some people might not be so definitely worth checking this when you book. An excellent assortment of toiletries provided. There was plenty of secure parking and the breakfast was exceptional. We definitely have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The restaurant was also good and the prices were reasonable.

The service in the bar was very slow but given it was February and we were still in Covid we made an allowance for this.

It is a "faux" castle but with a lot of charm. It is conveniently situated for travel up and down Spain and next door to a petrol station. The evening meal was very good value including a bottle of wine and a litre of water. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. Room was spacious and had a balcony.

The bed was hard and only had a bolster and no pillows. Perhaps we should have asked for them. Seemed like they were short staffed at times particularly at breakfast but did not detract.

another wonderful stay. I’d had a recent accident so was sporting a battered face - arrived feeling like I ought to be guarding the parapets but after a jacuzzi bath, lovely wine, delicious dinner and great night’s sleep in a comfortable 4 poster bed I was transformed from gargoyle to (ok deluded) princess!! ps Paul’s wife wrote this - not that much of a transformation 😂😂

not one thing!

we drove 12 hours straight to be there for our wedding anniversary and it was worth every minute. Our room was great, our meal was fabulous best of all (and that is saying something) were the staff. The gentleman who served behind the bar and also in the restaurant gave us an amazing evening. if you are flicking through endless reviews and wondering which one to choose - go for it you won’t be disappointed! Go for the suite and feel like royalty- it’s not expensive but it feels like it ought to be.

love staying here - such a wonderful welcome- lovely room, great dinner and delicious wine! Ok stuff people need to know - safe secure car park (no height restriction) on the Spain/France route. clean and comfortable. absolutely nothing!

we were travelling with young grandsons who were so excited to be staying in a castle. A Spanish friend of ours kindly contacted the hotel to explain. When we checked in they were ‘recognised’ as Knights and awarded cloaks (which may have been hidden in Grandma’s handbag) and also fabulous scrolls made by the castle to welcome them. all the staff greeted them as knights they were ecstatic! children’s menu was great and family room just perfect.
