Hotel Solymar

The location is great, and everything looks like at the photos. The staff was very friendly too and always trying to help. What we really liked the most is how clean they keep everything. Our room was cleaned on daily bases. If you want to explore Malaga, the hotel has great connection to everything, the city center, the train station, the bus station. Also the local bitch is very close, just across the street and it is a great beach with everything you need. We preferred it over Malagueta for example because it is less busy, less touristic and the water is cleaner.

The fact that there is no balcony. However, we already knew that, so it wasn't really a big deal for us.

The hotel location is easy to get from the airport on bus route A from&to the airport. Very close to the beach area, about 2-3 minutes walk. Close to a few very local places to drink and eat also ( 2 minutes walk to their local daily market - you need to go and visit it ). Is about 20 minutes by bus ( depending on what bus you take) to get to Plaza de la Marina area that has the Marina to one side and the old town area to the other side. The staff was very helpful and friendly, easy to speak with. I had a single room, but it met my needs, all looked clean, had the room serviced every day, even not needed ( forgot to mention to reception on the way out).

The room I was in had very thin walls, I could hear everything from neighbours' rooms and reception area, also people banging their room door was a little disturbing. This is not anyone 's fault, just a building structure.

Great location. The hotel is very close to the sea. The surrounding area has many restaurants, local bars and the regional market. The train station is 30 minutes on foot. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are cleaned every day, the towels are also changed. On the ground floor there is a modestly equipped kitchen (coffee machine, microwave, toaster, sink). The hotel staff is very friendly. The reception is available 24/7, so we felt safe. I recommend!

The kitchen could be better equipped (not enough basic utensils - plates, cups, cutlery, no electric stove). Besides, everything is great.

It’s a wonderful hotel very close, 3 min walk, to the great long beach and about 40 min walk from the city center or 15 min till the railway station. Basically it’s perfectly situated, the bed and the room was super comfortable, mine also had a small and quiet refrigerator, it was very clean and the staff is very polite and hospitable. I highly recommend this hotel and hope your vacation in Málaga will be as great as mine was)

Wifi was sometimes hard to connect to and there were no breakfasts, no place for them really, but none of it was really a problem.

Great location and value for money. Transport links to the centre and airport are excellent. Beach and restaurants nearby. Reception staff friendly helpful and polite. Room attended to every day. Use of kitchen and fridge in the room. its not 5 star but you are not paying 5 star prices.

For the money we paid in the peak of the season you can't get better. Hotel is 150m from the nice Huelin beach, 50m from Carrefour, 50m from the market.

Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't have balconies which makes difficult to dry your stuff. Also they need to do something in regards to cockroaches, we found 4 of them in 10 days. Each of those at least 5cm long.

The hotel is located very well, close to the Paseo Maritimo Antonio Banderas, and Playa de la Misericordia. All bars and restaurants, the beach are quickly reachable by foot. The hotel has simple furniture and shows its age, but the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom had quite a lot of space for a standard single room. A fridge was available in the room. The price was completely fine considering the service and location. I would definitely return.

The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the beach which is ideal. Lots to do and see. Plenty of restaurants and fast food eateries. The staff were superb and I cannot fault them. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Always happy and smiling. The room was basic but suited my needs. The mini fridge was fantastic!

The beds aren't the comfiest but isn't the worst either. I also felt somewhat restricted having to hand my key in everytime I left, and then have to ask for it upon return.

The hotel is very close to the beach and the supermarket. The room was cleaned everyday. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. It’s a 3 minute walk to a bus stop to Malagueta and the city centre, and 8 min from the bus stop to come back. Good restaurants within walking distance.

The room was quite small but had all we needed for our stay.

Great value for money, I travelled in March to visit the city mostly, as the temperature didn't allow any activities on the beach, which was closed-off and under construction, anyway. The hotel was quiet, you get all standard facilities, air conditioning in room (didn't turn it on), TV and mini-fridge (didn't turn them on either). 24-hour reception, they keep your room key at the reception desk until you return so that you won't have to care about losing it. Room service was great, it's very clean and doesn't look as old and outdated as I initially thought it would. The neighbourhood was also quiet in that time of the year, not many businesses around but there is a general store where you can find anything + restaurants, cafes, fast-food etc. on the beach, which is very close to the hotel. A park is also somewhat close. At 10 minutes walking time there are bus stations for lines that take you to the city center and also to the airport. I imagine it is a great fit if you're looking to stay at the beach mostly and occasionally going to the city center as well.

It's a bit far from the city center if you're planning your most activities there. The neighbourhood can feel a bit poor and unlively outside of the summer months.
