Hotel Plaza Del Castillo

The hotel is extraordinary; it looks like an old castle, excellent decorated, that brings you the feeling that you are right in the middle age story. The personnel is very nice, helpful and supportive. Our room was a normal 12-14 sqm area, very clean, always (daily cleaning by hotel staff). It is also a quiet place but with outdoor swimming pool facilities, very stylish as well. Breakfast and "by order/ a la carte" restaurants have very good food and enough choices offered. Location is close to the airport (20 minutes by car) and is close to city center as well (20-25 minutes drive).

Location is not great but I already knew this - once you’re in the hotel you forget about the location! Easy drive into centre of Malaga.

This hotel was one of the most beautiful i ever stayed in. Me and my family (husband and 2years old daughter) we loved it so much. The reception, the garden and the swimming pool are absolutely amazing. I would only recomand for someone with children to be careful as the floor could be slippery. The housing keeping staff seems to be the best, the room was cleaned daily and very well, towel changed and the little touch, like the way the put my daughters toys back just melt our hearts! Big thank you! We had breakfast(buffet) every day but i didn't like much of it. Dinner every evening in the restaurant, i first tryed the fish wasn't great and than next days we had steak and tapas they were absolutely fantastic. It seems like the meat is their strong point. All the staff we interacted with was very nice, friendly, polite. The location didn't bother us at all, we used the taxi which was in between 10 € to 15€ to Malaga. So i would say resonable. I have used the bus(25) one time only, and the GPS showed us is 14 minutes walk to the hotel but it was no footpath so we took a taxi again. But i recomand and i would come back any time!

We didn't like much the breakfast buffet, the fruits cutted weren't very fresh, maybe they should be kept bit on cold, coffee very bad, and all the rest not too tasty. Otherwise was large selection and good price.

very clean, good location close to the highway, easy to get to Malaga center in less than 15 minutes. you can either get to Malaga with a rented car, but the parking in Malaga center is between 2 and 3 eur per hour, depending on the location of the parking, or you can take the bus which is at 5 minutes walking from the hotel , which costs 1.4 eur per ticket . the inner yard of the hotel has tables and benches where you can sit in the evening to have a drink and enjoy a good time the breakfast at 9 eur per person was a good deal, as the food variety was enough and it all tasted very good. a good breakfast in the city can be at least twice as much .

We stay here a night every time we come to Spain to go to our holiday house, it's another two hours drive, which is just too much after a whole day travelling. The Hotel is everything we need. It's clean, quiet and very comfortable , also quite close to the airport. It does a very good buffet breakfast for a few euros extra, and has a good restaurant and bar which is a Godsend after a day trudging around airports and sitting on a crowded flight. Although it's in the middle of an industrial estate, once inside you'd never know. The grounds are lovely and the atmosphere very tranquil. We'll be going again, and again , highly recommended.

Had I known how attractive the hotel is I would have booked two or three nights coming to and leaving Spain. Having been to Malaga and Marbella before, my wife and I used Malaga as our transportation hub as we visited Ronda, Granada and Cordoba. We just wanted a place to rest and catch an early flight to Canada however the hotel so exceeded our expectations that we would have stayed longer and enjoyed the pool and spa facilities. Despite being €13 - €15 by taxi from Malaga’s centre the hotel works out to be an excellent value. One of the nicest hotels we have visited in Spain. We’ll stay there again next time we fly into Malaga.

Food was good and the bed comfortable but both weren’t five stars-still, we had no complaints. It’s location requires that you be prepared to taxi or drive to explore the rest of the area.

The staff were really friendly. The outer area of the hotel was amazing. Excellent place to chill out, with large palms and water fountains. I really liked the building , the architecture I mean, as well.

The bathroom is large and you have even a baththub, Which is great. But the wash basin wasn't clean. There were black, curly hair all over it, which is curious,because the room and the bed spread were super clean. Another thing which I didn't like were the size of the bed, it was really small. Hardly enough place for two people. And the mattresses were very uncomfortable. I don't expect the mattress to be like home, every one has their own preferences but I think, these mattresses had faulty springs, because your head and shoulder will just sink and the rest of your body stay up. Having said that, I would definitely go back there, in spite of the tiny beds ;)

The restaurant attached to the hotel is fantastic. It's one of the main reasons we choose this accommodation, together with the proximity to the airport. When you have time to enjoy breakfast the buffet choice is good. You would never think that such a great hotel facility is hidden in this industrial estate.

We did ask for a room as close to the entrance as possible when booking, as my wife walks with a stick, it seemed to take a while to get checked in, as though there was a problem. When we were eventually allocated a room, it was as far away as you could get on the opposite side of the courtyard. With hindsight, even if we'd been allocated a room on the first floor and using the lift we could potentially have had a room nearer.

We absolutely loved the hotel! The stuff was absolutely helpful and were ready to help for any questions we may have had!! The hotel was extremely clean, the rooms were very big and comfortable! Location was also excellent and ideal for walking towards the city center! Generally very happy and would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone!

The only thing that I didn't like were the pillows which were a bit soft for our taste but other than that the bed was comfortable.
