Hostal Sonsoles Madrid-Centro

The location is simply unbeatable. As a solo female traveller I appreciated the safety of this place. Keep in mind, that the reception is on the second floor, no problem with the elevator. The room was cleaned every day, the towels changed as often as you wished.

Everything was OK.

We booked this for 3 nights. Due to a late flight, we could arrive until midnight. They refused to let us in at that hour, nor return our money for that night. The result, we had to get a room in a different hotel. So we paid for 2 rooms for the same night. This place has forgotten They are in the hospitality business.

This place is a great bargain. The location in the heart of Chueca is amazing and the room was very clean and had everything you need. I was also impressed that even though my room was next to a busy street, the soundproofing was great.

You aren’t allowed to have any visitors.

The location is excellent, close to the subway and many restaurants. It's in a very safe area, and the staff was friendly. Extremely quiet.

We would've appreciated a sitting chair or two, although we know in a small room this could be challenging. Perhaps by eliminating the large wardrobe and just having 2 luggage racks and some wall hooks might allow for a chair.

Location is amazing. Staff very friendly and helpfull. We had an option to leave our luggadge the last day in the reception, as we had flight in the evening. Room has comfy beds, and our room had windows looking in the atrium of the building, so we didnt hear any noise during night from the outside.

If there is noise in the hallway, you can hear it in the room. We had luck that we didnt have a lot of noise, as we travelled in March. Towels are not good quality, for couple of days it's fine, but investing in better ones would be a plus.

Great location on the promenade and very close to Gran Via! Also hostel is in a nice tenement house. The room was very tidy and cleaned every day. There was a desk, wardrobe and comfortable bed in the room. The bathroom had shower gel and shampoo.

Weak wi-fi singnal in the room. There were noises from outside and other rooms. The front desk person did not speak english.

Beautiful city! Very cozy hotel with attentive staff! It is pleasant and surprising that the architectural details of the past have been preserved and maintained in good condition! Thank you very much!

We spent a wonderful 7 days in Madrid and nothing to let us down! We will definitely come back and recommend visiting "our" hotel!

The location was centric, very convenient, and close to everything. The staff was very kind. Manuel was always very helpful.

At first, I was disappointed that the taxi couldn't come up to the hostal doorstep, but then I got used to it. 😉 I also felt bad that the elevator had to be repaired during my stay in Sonsoles, but then it was not the fault of the Hostal. 😉

An excellent value!! This Hostal (I would call it a hotel) is clean, comfortable and is centrally located in the heart of the hip/gay neighborhood of Chueca with plenty of shopping, restaurants and convenience stores. My small, single room had a comfortable bed, heat /AC, a kettle (I brought some instant coffee but there are coffee and soda machines in the lobby), a drinking glass, a safe and a private four-piece bathroom. Everything I needed for a long weekend - after all, you come to Madrid for the city, not the hotel. The proprietors are professional, efficient, helpful and discreet. Due to construction styles, European hotels may be a slightly louder than hotels in North America but I always travel with earplugs. Again, an excellent value! I definitely recommend Sonsoles.

There was nothing that I was unhappy with.

Exceeded our expectations The hostal is very well located, at short walking distance from bus stops, train and metro stations. The room was nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. That weekend was 42°C in Madrid so the A/C was the best feature to have in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A few days before our stay, we had to change our dates due to a family issue. They quickly assisted our request and promptly modified our booking without further hussles.

Nothing to dislike, fair quality-price.
