Hostal Carracedo

Very good location with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants well within walking distance. Two metro stations are close by but most attractions within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean with comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom and good ‘housekeeping’ service. Our room was up a few flights of stairs but there is a lift - especially useful when carrying luggage. Also the hotel will look after your luggage until it’s time to travel.

As would be expected in a city centre hotel, the street could be noisy at night but with windows closed, air conditioning on and earplugs in, this was a small inconvenience for the excellent location.

The location of this place is beyond perfect. It is in the center, minutes from Sol, parks, stations and supermarket. Just across the front door there was a perfect breakfast place, and plenty of tapas spots. The room was big, with natural light and good air-conditioning for the hot weather. The bathroom also had a window for an even better ventilation. We enjoyed staying here, and would definitely come again. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Location Nice neighborhood

A lady in the reception charged us 2€, just to store our luggage for 1 hour as we had to check out and our flight was later. It was "cheap"...

The Hostal is located in the center of Madrid, near to many restaurants and tourist places. Also there is a grocery store across the street. The hostal looks great, apparently it is remodeled. The room was on third floor, very clean, and the mattress was perfect for a good dream.

The only negative thing is the front desk. This person (a man) did not give us any information about the hostal. For example: How often the room is cleaned? or the WIFI password (I don't if they have WIFI). The important thing for him were the passports. When we returned the room key, he didn't ask if we had enjoyed our stay, or come back soon, or have a nice trip. I suggest that he should practice and improve his relationship with the customers.

Sparkling clean and surprisingly spacious room. Air conditioning worked great when outside it was nearly 40 degrees. Beds are comfy and sheets are clean. Clean and very well maintained private bathroom. Unbeatable location: step out right into the lively Barrio de las Letras neighborhood. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We did not use the WiFi or TV.

Parking is expensive nearby. If you come in a car, note restrictions ahead of time; you will be required to park in a car park close by if you enter the restricted zone. Look up EMT aparcamiento disuasorio ahead of time, park there and take metro or bus to this area.

The location was excellent, very central and within walking distance to a number of metro stations. The room itself was clean and modern with plenty of well located sockets. The lift was a huge bonus as similar places I have stayed in throughout Europe do not have one.

When booking I read there was a lift however inside the building it was not clear where this lift was and there was no signage. Nobody told me about the lift either so I had to search for it. When you go up in the lift to your floor, there is a door that looks like it is for a private apartment rather than the entrance to your corridor which I found confusing.

very pleasant stay! great quality and price ratio. Room had everything needed: small bathroom with everything, tv, desk, heater perfectly working. Location is great, close to the Metro, lots of restaurants and bars around and walking distance from all the main attractions.

if I need to signal two things: 1) The door of the room is not isolating from the corridor, where the other rooms face. So you can hear all the time if someone is coming in or out from the Hostal. I would suggest making improvements on those doors, to allow a better sleep. 2) One single long pillow (that was used for both people in the bed), I found that uncomfortable. I would suggest using two normal pillows, one per person.

The room is the same as the one in the photo. Well isolated from the street noise and everything is working inside without problem. You take your keys and feel like at home. No one entered it if you do not ask for cleaning. The best place of interest are on 20 minute walk by foot.

I am not sure but the reception works till 24 h in the evening and you must not be late...

The location is great, with a lot of nice bars and cafes nearby but it's not noisy, my room was really quiet. Most things are within walking distance and the Anton Martin metro is only a couple of minute's walk away. They are very friendly and looked after my luggage after I checked out for just 1 euro for the day, which was very helpful as I had a late train and got to spend the day exploring without my suitcase.

It is pretty basic but I didn't mind.

The location was great. close to public transport, shopping, food. Room was spacious.

Need to provide adequate shampoo, body wash. For the price a small fridge or kettle would be appreciated. Guests were loud and rooms carried sound of people in hallway. Need to explain elevator access upon arrival. it’s a strange entrance to the floor.
