Ilunion Fuengirola

Breakfast was Fabulous. Lots of fresh fruit, Spanish cold meats and cheeses , great pastries, and good coffee. Best I have ever had in a hotel. Also had dinner which was fantastic, and very good value at 23 euros. Also loved the pool area which was surprisingly never crowded. Very helpful staff. I liked the “family” feel, and the inclusivity aspect.. wheelchair friendly in the restaurant and public areas.

I found the bath quite difficult to get in and out of, because of the tiled shower “wall”. Also seemed to be waiting for the lift a lot .. three lifts maybe not enough for the size of the building?

Staff very kind and helpful especially Oumaima in the restaurant. She speaks French also. Thank you the reception team for your kindness. Clean facility. In front of the beach. Shopping and groceries in the neighbourhood.

No clear separation and often mixing between porc and other meets (pavot) positions in the breakfast leading us to always ask. Only 2 people serving in the bar during the evening for a full bar! This caused high stress to the barman who literally ignored our request and was almost not kind until intervention of the reception guy.

The location is perfect, close to some great restaurants. Bus stop and train station is also close by. Lovely bar with reasonably priced drinks. Can't comment on the food as we were room only. We had a sea view room which was a good size. Amazing view. Have to mention the shower, for temperature and pressure the best hotel shower ever.

Only a few very minor issues; The light on the balcony didn't work though this may have been us not managing to make it work. There is a huge step to access the balcony, this could be difficult for some. The bath / shower also has a big step to access, and the bottom of the bath is slippery. A bath mat would be good here.

The Interior Design / Style of the hotel is absolutely stunning! One of the most stylish I’ve seen in Spain! The rooms were very comfortable & clean! Most staff were lovely and very accommodating :)

Unfortunately, due to the positioning of the pool, it only had sunshine over it for half of the day, it loses sunlight very quickly compared to other holiday pools we have used! We were also sadly quite disappointed with the food! The drinks were lovely, but the food was sadly average at best! Considering it’s such a fabulously put together hotel, we expected the food & pool facilities to match up! The Hotel in its style, cleanliness & set up is 10/10 But the food & pool facilities were sadly a 5/10

The cleanest hotel ever, love the smell of the cleaning products. It's always spotless. The cleaning staff work so so hard. All The staff are lovely! The location is amazing. The view is beautiful and the lobby is stunning.

We went half board and although the food is of excellent quality there is never any vegetarian main dinners offered. Last time we stayed this was the same so before our stay this time I did email in advance to request a vegetarian main meal be offered and I was told they would let the kitchen know, however unfortunately during our stay there were no vegetarian dinners offered while we were there again. I think this is disappointing as many people in the world are now vegetarian and at least 1 main meal for vegetarians should be available.

Check-in was effortless. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and clean, and the (9th-floor) balcony afforded an excellent view of the sea front and beach. The bathroom is large, and ample size even for a family of four. The housekeeping staff was especially nice and very efficient. The cafeteria staff was friendly and accomodating, and the breakfast was a good mix of fruits, breads, meats, cheese, cakes, and made-to-order omelets.

I would have liked the pool to remain open longer - until 10 or 11 at night.

Pleasant staff. Definitely worth having a sea view room. Great location opposite the beach with lots of bars,shops and restaurants in the vicinity and also near the railway station (one stop before Fuengirola station). There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and a free safe. Good blackout curtains and surprisingly quiet.

The pool area is very dull and in shade in the afternoons. Would prefer a walk in shower rather than stepping into the bath. Definitely a trip hazard, although they did have a grab rail. Toiletries were uninspired.

A hop skip and a jump from Los Boliches train station. A beautiful beach in front which doesn't get shaded by large buildings in the evening. A lovely walk along the beach from the main nightlife of Fuengirola. The hotel was clean and the staff were superb. The fires at Benahavis were raging and the evacuees were welcomed with their pets which I thought was great, as they had been turned away by other so called dog-friendly hotels along the coast as their old dog was not the size of a terrier. Hats off to the hotel and their staff!

It would have been better if we could stay 2 weeks instead of one.

Clean hotel all food and drinks reasonably priced staff were friendly and hotel has an excellent location for the beach and surrounding areas

Stay was let down by a Management visit and do in the hotel bar area , whilst being sat in a small area as most of the public area was cordoned off for costumers ,staff were constantly moving and constantly spraying strong smelling air fresheners which caused us a bit of discomfort as it was overpowering also they were moving furniture and decor around whilst we were trying to relax Also as a result we were left waiting at the bar for drinks and felt completely under valued and this was to the detriment of paying customers so much so we went elsewhere.This should have been done in a private room as it spoilt our otherwise enjoyable stay

Enjoyed our second visit much more this time and the Manager on the weekend Saturday 11th March was very accommodating. Changed our room as I had difficulty with the bath/shower facility in the first room. Very kind of him. Sorry forgot your name . Bar staff lovely especially Julian and we met Christian a little later. Nice vibe in foyer and reception to sit and have a drink. Excellent location. Will be back.

The first shower in room 807 difficult to get out of especially with a dodgy ankle.
