Parador de Ferrol

This parador is like a grand hotel, on a smaller scale. Beautiful room, well appointed. Very nice public areas for lounging, beautiful views of the harbour from the breakfast room (and from our room’s window - always ask for harbour view), and is located in park-like grounds. Downtown Ferrol is within just a few blocks one way, same for the port the other way. It’s the best place to stay in Ferrol.

Small thing: no gym. With a gym, this hotel would be perfect.

We were walking the Camino Ingles and stayed here on the Sunday night to begin our walk Monday morning. We stayed in a double room. It was spotlessly clean . The hotel had an old world type of vibe about it and looked very appealing.It had a good hot shower which was over the bath. The bed was comfortable. It was on the Camino route so very convenient when we started our walk the next morning. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the standard of food. We left at 7.30 Monday morning so it was basically accommodation for one night.

This is a charming hotel right on the Camino Ingles, and served as a nice place to rest before starting out on our pilgrimage. Our room as comfortable, and we had a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was a Sunday and many of the town's restaurants and shops were closed, but the helpful staff at the front desk directed us to a few places that were open to pick up items for our walk.

It was a pleasant surprise when we eventually found the Parador. Not too easy to find if you are driving. However, on arrival we found the reception staff were very helpful, in fact, Marta (we think that was her name) had brilliantly responded to one of our e-mails where we showed a little concern about the lack of car parking at the Parador. She was a very good "face" to welcome new guests. The restaurant staff were again very attentive, a very young man dealt with our evening meal and could not be faulted. Overall, a very nice Parador and certainly worth more than 3 stars (the bar man alone, being a Barcelona supporter, certainly made me feel at home as I watched El Classico in the bar area even if Barca lost!

We enjoyed our two days at the Parador. We saw all that we wanted to see and spent some time in the town cafes and bars.

Nice old house in a great location to start the Camino de Santiago from Ferrol. Clean and comfortable.

Our 2 rooms were at the back and mine was very quiet but in the other one my family slept very little because of the noise from people walking about and wheeling cases at night. The floors are wooden and the sound carries. I was a bit disappointed at the quality of the shampoo and shower gel. It may be a 3-star hotel but that's unusual in a Parador.

This parador is a beautiful and elegant building, beside a park, with fantastic views of the naval port and the ria, and an easy walk from the heart of Ferrol’s city centre. Our room was very large, with a king bed, large marble bathroom and quality linens and towels. It was a corner room, with two balconies with views. We could not have asked for better. And the breakfasts were generous and excellent. Staff were kind and helpful, and very professional. It was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.

Smart, traditional hotel - think 4 star without pool or fitness.Very near start of the camino though a slight walk to bars and cafes in city. Alternatively eat in for a Galician style meal. It is very near the district of Canido, take a look at the street art- great fun. The free car park is small but the spaces do turn over if you wait a little in the day time. Staff speak adequate English, which is not always true in this part of Spain. I would be happy to stay again.

our standard room was comfortable but unfortunately the window opened onto the extractor pipe - the alternative ( air conditioning) was noisy so the room was not so comfortable.

Excellent stay at the Parador. Lovely place with old world charm. Our room was quite large, and very comfortable. Location on the Camino Ingles was perfect. Staff members were helpful and kind.

Hours of food service in the restaurant weren’t ideal, but that’s generally a Spain thing. Otherwise all was well.

My first stay at a Parador , located in the naval heritage area and walkable from Ferrol Station this hotel was a very characterful property with a strong emphasis on its naval heritage. Our room was spacious bright and had good WiFi and bathroom facilities. The staff were very friendly and we very much enjoyed our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.
