Hotel Santa Cruz

The Hotel Santa Cruz at Cangas de Onis gets all the praise I can find. Although not an expensive hotel the rooms are very comfortable and stylish, the showers were very good and the beds comfortable with a lift to all floors. I stayed at the Santa Cruz on two occasions in three different rooms. The breakfasts were very good, lots of choice. the first time I have had quails eggs on a set price breakfast. Also of very high quality were the evening meals which for a set price was more like fine dining with a good wine. The hotel is situated very conveniently near the centre of town and I could park my motorcycle on the wide pavement outside the hotel, car parking is also possible on the road. The main praise for the hotel though goes to the staff. All the ladies on reception spoke very good English which was great. Unfortunately I injured my shoulder in a motorcycle incident and the receptionists were brilliant, arranging a taxi to take me to hospital, sorting out additional comfortable rooms for me for an extra stay, even translating and printing the evening dinner menu for me. Thank you all the Santa Cruz for your help.

Not hurting myself! Just positive praise for the hotel and staff.

The property was located close to the main bus station, which was useful as we didn't bring a car, as well as the main road with all the restaurants and shops. They also gave us a huge room with a view of a playground. Even when there were many kids, we couldn't hear them. The breakfast room was small but the buffet was actually quite extensive and constantly being refilled.

Since the breakfast room wasn't large, we had to reserve a time for breakfast. This wasn't an issue as we wanted to get an early start however it doesn't really allow spontaneity.

It was the right choice to stay in this hotel for one night. It was a long journey to Cangas de Onis from Madrid and I rested well. Also the staff was super friendly, I didn't order a breakfast in advance but they allowed me to see the choices in the morning for vegetarian options and let me decide at the moment. Vegetarian-friendly selection was quite good and it's way better than you'd find in cafes in the town.

After a change of plans, we ended up having to stay a couple of nights in Cangas de Onís. We booked Hotel Santa Cruz and were very happy we did! We ended up staying both nights there after having experienced great service from the staff, who were extremely helpful, friendly, and pleasant. The rooms were great as well and the breakfast was AMAZING!

spacious clean room with lovely decor. The hotel itself is very inviting and in a prime location. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I cannot explain how amazing our breakfast was. The best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel ever. So well thought out, time had been taken in setting up the food and some very creative ideas. Honestly was blown away. The member of staff down there was very attentive and efficient ensuring everything was neat, tidy and topped up.

What a great little hotel in a prime location. The breakfast is totally amazing with a massive choice and all for 10 Euros. We paid less for a junior suite than a cramped room in some other hotels.

There is no parking at the hotel but street parking is available close by.

Really great hotel, in a great location. Comfortable bed, with good size bathroom. The hotel staff were very friendly towards us and the breakfast is definitely worth taking - a real delight for €10.

As others have said the air con is noisy but didn’t both us.

Lovely new room and central location

A couple of small things-no water in the room or tea/coffee making facilities and can’t order anything from reception so not ideal. Why no mirror in the huge space above the dressing table? Not good for ladies doing their hair!

clean, modern, great location, easy street parking, lovely town & countryside a few steps away. Good WiFi internet service. spacious room, good mattress. Good ‘fridge for storing a few things. Ultra friendly helpful staff

Toilet roll holder is annoying. That’s it. The place is great.

The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom recently renovated. The breakfast was a highlight, buffet style with lots to choose from!

We initially booked a superior double but upon arrival we found that it was on the ground floor right by the road. Although the room looked to be recently renovated and clean we asked to change to a room on another floor and on the other side of the building. Luckily they had availability (as we are light sleepers) but the rooms on the upper floors are standard doubles (not as nicely decorated but perfectly acceptable and just as comfortable!) So if you don't like being on the ground floor next to a road, I would recommend not booking a superior.
