Hotel Pelayo

Don't be put off by the 1 star this is an excellent basic hotel and you won't be in the room much with all Barcelona has to offer. Clean, very comfy beds, bathroom is small but functioning and a has a great shower over a half bathtub, we stayed in a room with 4 single beds which worked great for our family with teenage boys, fantastic location slap bang between Plaza Catalunya and Universitat metro stops, and close to Las Ramblas. Airport bus stops at Plaza Catalunya so just 5 min walk. 24hour reception and helpful staff. would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. We arrived earlier than our 3pm check in time but the room was ready, so we were allowed to check in which was awesome, note that the city tax has to be paid in cash so have some Euros on you (0.50 per person per night I think)

If I had to be picky you can hear the doorbell ring and people in reception so might not be best for light sleepers, the lift is rather small and you do need to walk up the 1st set of stairs to reach the lift (here is disabled lift up this 1st set of stairs). none of this was an issue for us and we were very happy with our stay.

Very clean, small but comfortable. Great location! Short walk to La Ramblas and many places to eat and drink. The staff were super nice and helpful.

Better street and interior signage… its a bit tricky to find

Check in should be at 3 PM but we came at 12.30 PM. The staff was really kind & nice & allowed us to check in early. The location is good. Room is quite big with 4 single bedroom & really clean.

We still have to climb the stairs before going to get on the lift. It's quite challenging especially if you have a heavy/big suitcase to carry on.

Initially I admired the sanitization. The friendly aproach of the employee especialy special thanks to David for his sentimental behaves. Last but not least the location of the hotel is more than perfect. It is very close to all main points of Barcelona. Considering the the price this hotel deserves all the compliments.

Just a little recommadation tea and/or coffee set in the room. Ps: not a big deal.

Excellent location. Daytime reception staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning worked very well. Plenty of space in the family bedroom. Shower And bathroom facilities were good. Shower worked great, very powerful, and they provided toiletries. Added bonus.

Entrance to hotel was not very clear and when arriving on my own made me a little wary however once inside the facilities were more than adequate. Rooms were not very sound proof but this generally didn’t impact our stay.

Location was great, staff was nice, loved the more north american style shower than I've seen other places

Bed was springy and uncomfortable, room was TINY and half of it was taken up by this huge wardrobe which didn't belong in the room at all and couldn't even be opened all the way because the room was so small, so what's the point?? Also the shower curtain wasn't a non-porous shower curtain and just let water all over the floor during a shower. And to get into the hotel, you have to ring a doorbell, which is probably good for safety reasons, but which we heard late into the night in our room. It was also weird because we were NEXT to reception. Also a patio was advertised. There is no patio.

The room was spotlessly clean and stocked with towels, toilet rolls and soap. Although the hotel is not luxurious, our accommodation was clean and comfortable. The location was central and accessible to public transportation. We could easily walk to everywhere we could go. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. They provided information how to get to various locations. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the airport buses.

The room is small, but perfectly adequate. Our room was quiet, but I imagine that the rooms facing the outside might be noisy.

It was noisy. The room was close to reception and the children could not sleep.

I booked this hotel as I had never visited Barcelona before and on the map it looked pretty central. I have to say the location is perfect. we stayed as a family in the 4 bed suit. The staff are all so polite and helpful. the rooms although basic, are clean and have all of the essentials - the water pressure on the shower was AMAZING. we were so happy with the room, staff and location.

nothing. it had the basics and is exactly as described and pictured in the advert.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.. Staff are helpful and friendly. Room is clean, tidy and has comforable beds. The place is accessible to city attractions… walking distance to center of Barcelona , La Rambla, Placa de Cataluna etc… Plenty of Restaurants and take away shops around fhe vicinity..
