I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sercotel Gran Hotel Zurbarán it truly lives up to its 4-star reputation. The moment you step into your room, the pristine cleanliness is evident. The beds are incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night after a day of exploration. Location-wise, this hotel is a gem. Perfectly situated, it provides easy access to key attractions and transportation. But perhaps what stands out the most is the breathtaking room view, which is nothing short of spectacular, setting the mood for a memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hôtel to anyone seeking top-tier accommodations with exceptional service.

The room was of a good size. The beds were good. There was a tropical park opposite the hotel with an outside tapis bar and seating. You could walk into town or catch the bus from the old town gate to get to the Alta square at the top of the hill near the castle. Remember this is rural Spain so most restaurants do not open until 8.30pm

The air con did not go under 23 degrees. It was locked. The front desk staff said it was the law to save energy. I notice the down stairs area was locked at 21 degrees. I asked for an electric fan which they gave me.

Excellent room, very comfortable beds, superb location and ideal underground parking (extra charge for the parking, but worth it).

Only one thing. When we booked the price was in € and we were told we would pay at the hotel. To our surprise a charge was made to the card we left to secure the booking before we arrived - and in £ at a very poor exchange rate. We challenged it in a Booking.com message and the hotel reversed the £ payment, do we were able to pay in € upon check-in.. But they shouldn't have done this in the first place. Without this incident, we would have given 10/10.

The ambience of the hotel. The red carpet and big flight of stairs leading to the lobby made you feel like a VIP. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us feel comfortable. Special thanks to Bruno who was a star! He even gave us a fan to use in the room since he was unable to alter the room temperature settings.

The coolest temperature setting of the air conditioning in all hotel rooms is set at 23C or 73F. Not very comfortable in the summer heat averaging at 38C or 100F!

The hotel was walking distance from the old city centre and opposite a nice park. The hotel itself has interesting brutalist architecture on the outside but fits in with classical architecture. It's close the to river. We had a quiet room upstairs at the back. We didn't have breakfast. The bed was comfy. We found on-street parking. It's possible to stop for a moment to unload luggage.

They were a little under staffed at the bar and it took a while to find who to pay. Otherwise all good.

Good location in the city, with a nice park next to the hotel and a great view of the river. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was big, clean with comfortable beds and good size bathroom. Very good breakfast with many options, both cold and hot dishes.

Although I reserved with the option not to pay in advance, I was charged the entire amount on the night before arrival. I don't like that I wasn't informed about this and it is also an inconvenience because I would've wanted to pay with a different card than the one I used to make the reservation.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It is very central and well communicated. Ample parking outside and inside their garage too. The room was very nice and quiet and comfortable. The beds and pillows were super. this hotel gives you a very positive vibe. The staff is very helpful and polite. The food was excellent mind you but the ambiance was very bland. The bartender was super efficient and well-mannered. I would revisit this hotel which is situated in the most beautiful part of Badajoz next to the Roman bridge and the picturesque gate.

It stated they had a full-blown restaurant when in fact, it was closed for a period of time. Food available was light meals - salads and a few tapas from the cafeteria/bar. The food was excellent mind you but the ambiance was bland albeit very clean. The bartender was super efficient and well mannered

The hotel was easy to find and located by a pleasant park. One can park right outside easily and not feel rushed. There is a lift to the reception floor and a secure underground car park. The staff were very friendly and helpful in English and they arranged a taxi tour for us to view the defensive city walls-explaining what we needed to the driver who did well by us. Took us to the 'Morales' museum to see the Albuera dioramas. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was to a good standard. Good value for money we thought. Enjoyed our stay.

Nothing really to complain about.The lift does not go down into the garage, but must be accessed by a short but quite steep ramp used by vehicles so the able bodied must take and fetch the car. TIP I noticed at the top of the ramp there were two disabled parking spaces so it is fair to say the hotel have that issue in measure covered.

Good sized rooms, excellent air con for very warm day, powerful hairdryer, very comfortable beds and secure underground parking at extra costs. Location was easy walk,to the river and restaurants. Very spacious breakfast room, fresh orange juice and good buffet choices. Above average WiFi speed in the room.

Bathroom needs updating. Thin bath towels.

modern well-run hotel with helpful staff. The hotel reach the expected standards of cleanliness. The breakfast was adequate. In terms of access to the town centre the hotel was well located but road closures made it nearly impossible to find.

Road closures made it extremely difficult to find this hotel. The hotel could have sent information to guests in advance about this. The hotel could also provided some temporary signage.
