Hotel Don Carmelo

I chose that hotel because of the location close to the train station I liked the location but I believe that other travellers would prefer to be closer the walls old town

The cafeteria should provide better options for breakfast but that’s the Spanish style to be the way it is I think it was too expensive what charged me for one croissant and cheese ( they charged me 1,80 euros for the cheese - extra ) plus the croissant total was more than 3,50 euros for a croissant with cheese

This excellent Hotel is very conveniently located just a block from the Avila train station. The bus stop for the number one bus which takes you to the St Vincent gate entry point to The Old City is right outside of the hotel door. The staff were superb, very helpful and informing me about the various bus routes and other matters. The double rooms are quite spacious and very nice

The single rooms are a little bit on the small side, but still very pleasant, and good value for money. The rooms do not have refrigerators, which is a minus. But on the other hand, an Aldi Supermarket is just one block away.

Very close to the bus station and a grocery store. The shower had nice hot water and decent water pressure. They have a small place to eat so I could get coffee and a croissant in the morning.

The WiFi is very poor. It did not work at all during our second day. The walls are very thin and we could hear every time a nearby room turned on their shower or flushed their toilet. They say they are a 3-star hotel, but the facilities are more in line with a 2-star. It was overpriced for what we got.

The hotel is very conveniently located just a block from the train station. The rooms are very spacious, as is a very cheerful Lobby room. There is an all the supermarket just two blocks away from the hotel. Everything at the hotel was very spiffy. The staff was very helpful about giving me information about various buses to various Avila locations. And the bus stop is right outside of the hotel.

Can't think of anything, except that the price goes up on weekends

The staff, especially at the reception, was excellent: very warm, welcoming and hepful. They are simply great. The room was very comfortable and the facilities were very clean. Close to train station, no need to take a taxi from there, even with luggage. I had a very good experience, I think it had a very good value.

Wifi was rather unrealible, going on and off constantly.

Nice little hotel. A little dated but absolutely fine, I think that's probably reflected in the price. Clean and good size rooms. About a 10 minute walk to the walls. There's a lovely park right across the road and on the other side if that I found free parking outside a café called El Tejar.

The WiFi was unreliable. Had to flick what looked like a light switch for sockets to work, it took me a while to find it and figure it out.

Single room was comfortable and spacious for one occupant. Room was very clean. Noise insulation was quite good. I had a view of the roundabout. Location is ideal for travellers using the bus and train stations. Three supermarkets nearby - Aldi, Lidl & Lupa. Many good restaurants and bars nearby, such as "Castilla" and "Jara".

An in-room kettle would have been nice, but there are several good café-bars nearby, so it wasn't a big issue for me.

A pleasant stay on the 3rd floor. Almost no traffic noise, even though there was a traffic circle right outside my bedroom window. A big park across the road. A few blocks from the train station - an easy walk with luggage. Comfortable walk to the spectacular City Wall, Historic City Center and the Cathedral.

Very conveniently situated near the station, friendly and efficient receptionists, comfortable bed, spotless room. In all, very good value for money. Continental breakfast in the cafeteria by the hotel.

The room was comfy, and not very noisy. Maybe the room was a bit chilly for me, as that weekend was freezing in Ávila.

The breakfast was really expensive. A small glass of orange juice + toast nearly six euros!
