Lodge on Main Guest House and Conference Centre

The staff were friendly and helpful. The property had all the necessary comforts and amenities, the breakfast was superb, and it was well-situated with easy access to many activities, restaurants and was close to the city center and the airport, which made travelling for work easy and convenient.

My bathroom light stopped working on my second last night which I reported, but unfortunately it was not repaired prior to my checking out. Other than that, there is not much to complain about as the overall experience was pleasant.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing - excellent cooks. Such a fabulous variety and well prepared by lovely staff. Location is superb. Close to everything but you wouldn’t even know it due to the secluded, cosy and extremely secure nature of the lodge. Gorgeously quaint and homely and intimate! Would highly recommend.

It is definitely time for new towels! Even though our room was spotless, I did get the idea that housekeeping had not been there before we had checked in. The bin in the bathroom had been used. And there was a used towel. We had booked for three adults but there was one cookie on the pillow and one rusk in the jar. I assume that was for the previous guest.

I have never slept anywhere else in PE since I discovered Lodge on Main. I love the homely feeling and the friendly staff. Spacious rooms....fabulous breakfast. This establishment is one of my favourite stays in South Africa. Quiet area and secure parking with lots of great restaurants close to the establishment.

The room was as per the pictures indicated. The bed was super comfy. Everything looked neat and tidy. The coffee facilities were good but seems like they had not refilled the amenities between bookings. Ie. There was only one sachet of coffee (normal) and two decaf sachets. There was also only one rusk. Neither were replenished between cleans. Breakfast was good. Service from Kitchen staff was really good and they were very friendly.

Maybe just give a bit more clarity/ instruction on where you want clients to leave keys on check out. I just placed mine on the reception desk but wasn’t sure if this would be ok.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included in the price which I was very happy about, and it was delicious. I liked that the Wi-Fi was very fast and stable. My room had a coffee pod machine and I received 2 pods each day which I could enjoy on the balcony. I will definitely stay here again. 😀

The property is next to a main road so it can get a little noisy at night over weekends, but it didn't bother me too much

Very central location, safe parking and nice decor with lots of added small detailed elements that add to the ambiance of this lovely place.

They don't cater for Halaal breakfast. It would be nice to able cater for Muslim guests for breakfast. Small addition to the breakfast menu to offer halaal breakfast can unlock potential for a whole new muslim customer support base.

The guest house was well located, many good restaurants close by and a shopping centre.

There weren’t many staff around. And we didn’t get much information from the staff member would was at times available.

Rooms were very nice and well appointed. They were clean and the beds were comfortable with nice linen. Downstairs area was great for us we were travelling as a group and socialised in this space.

There is nothing that I disliked about the the Lodge on Main. Couldnt really fault anything to the point of mentioning it here.

The pool and the plants

The room was very small, no desk to work on for audit reports, very small TV that did not work, 1 ply toilet paper. It was also not communicated that the rooms are upstairs, so people with back injuries ( like myself) had to carry my luggage up the stairs.

Very conveniently situated to airport and stunning restaurants and coffee shops. Lovely breakfast included. Fabulously comfortable bed and linen. A good working air con! Very helpful staff … a gorgeous open veranda for sundowners!
