Hotel Sanje ob Soči ***/****

The hotel is in a great location. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They offer you a homemade liqueur on arrival and provide advice on restaurants and things to do. We were very fortunate as they upgraded us to an apartment, which was very spacious. The hotel has numerous nice outdoor areas to sit and relax and also an area indoors. The majority of the breakfast is homemade - beautiful jams, cakes, salads, teas and elderberry juice. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Everything was great.

The staff, breakfast buffet, room and location were a cut above the usual. The breakfast included fresh local and homemade food. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome shot of homemade black coneflower liquor. Every interaction we had with the staff was lovely. They are so friendly and efficient. Set in the Julian Alps this is the perfect location to explore the many waterfalls, hikes and towns. The town of Kobarid and its WWI museum was excellent as was the hike to Kozjak Waterfall.

We didn't want to leave.

This is a pleasant hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink and a free room upgrade. Our room was clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen. We also requested breakfast with the room, which turned out to be a great idea as the breakfast was really excellent! The hotel itself is close enough to everything, the city centre is a 5 minute walk and most attractions are 15-20 minutes drive away.

The lighting in the room could have been a bit brighter, and a mosquito net would have been a good idea, but these are just minor things.

Amazing experience all in all, can really recommend it. The place is a beautiful boutique hotel, with all the amenities of a far larger chain. You can really tell its family owned as it has certain kindness from the staff you can scarcely find in other hotels. For instance, according to the owners, the sauna was not up to par to what they would expect of it, so they offered it to us at a reduced price. But the sauna was excellent. You don't see this type of professionalism in the world anymore. The sauna wellness was amazing, the breakfast was out of this world. Can not recommend this place more.

Where to start - this was one of the best hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at during these past few years. We arrived late in the evening after a long drive, and the receptionist kindly offered us a room upgrade upon arrival (to a one-bedroom apartment), as well as a welcome drink. We were shown to our room, and wow, what a view! Both the bedroom and the open plan offer unobstructed views. Rooms boast a shared outdoor terrace overlooking the tranquil mountains surrounding Bovec. The hotel was very quiet, so the terrace was pretty private most of the time. Indoors, the apartment could not be cleaner. It has a fully equipped kitchen including an oven, which came in handy after long days exploring the outdoors. The sitting area and TV were also a great addition. Upon checking out we were gifted with a small jar of locally produced jam, a nice touch from this amazing hotel. We wish to be back soon to this property. Highly recommended, 10/10!

An in-room washing machine would be really useful, although we were offered laundry services at an extra fee so this is not an issue.

A bit hard to describe this place. The location was outstanding. Initially I was a little like hmmmm.... A few things to consider. This in not a typical "hotel" There is not really a concierge on duty, no ice machines, our room didn't have a stand up shower just a tub, breakfast is extra as is use of the sauna. (More about that) Also there are a lot of stairs to bring your luggage. The rooms are minimally appointed (think nice Ikea) but VERY clean, spacious and functional. Our view was amazing and quiet. We really needed ice one evening as my husband had an eye injury and there was no one at the desk and no be found so I was a little take aback by this, however, I my thoughts on the hotel changed over the next 24 hours. It is a family run hotel run by a couple who has put their heart and soul into this place. The breakfast is an absolute MUST!! (I'd go back for this alone). Valentina put such amazing time, effort and love into each bite. If you're looking for an all out buffet this is not your place. Everything was local, organic, homemade and brilliantly displayed and explained. There was homemade breads, jams, granola, local honey, cheeses, meats and eggs not to mention sides that were just bursting with local flavor. It was remarkable! Words cannot describe the explosion of goodness that is really meant to be experienced. I was a little taken aback about charging for use of the sauna. We really had no intentions of using it but then we went kayaking on a cold day and decided we'd go ahead and pay the price. Well, it was more than a sauna. It was a full spa room with two different types of saunas, aromatherapy, beautifully appointed chaises and drinks and snacks upon our arrival to our private spa. We had no idea what to expect but it exceeded our expectations and worth the money. Again, our thoughts on Sanje ob Soci definitely evolved. I would definitely return!

We only stayed for one night in Hotel Sanje ob Soci but in hindsight, we should have stayed much longer, because of the pleasant experiences we made. The hotel reminds you more of a retreat because of the quiet atmosphere and the beautiful view and landscape all around it. The room was very clean and the breakfast was exceptionally good. Also they have a very nice and spacious sauna, which we were able book very short notice. The hotel was a 5 mins walk away from the Bovec city center and there were many good restaurants and cafes. We highly recommend the hotel and will definitely come back next time we visit Slovenia.

The breakfast was extremely Good and handmade dishes were offered. The whole building, the common Rooms and the Apartment itself were lovely. our hosts were also super friendly (we got an room upgrade and breakfast at the First Morning was shown and explained to us). we also enjoyed the possibility to privately book the spa/sauna that is located downstairs.

The breakfast was really delicious, good choice, good quality, even herbs to choose for your tea. Saunas were also very good. The receptionists were helpful and friendly. We were advised a New Year's Eve dinner at a hotel next door and it was excellent. We can recommend the hotel to anyone. Beautiful nature and a pleasant little town around. We'll be coming back for a summer stay.

The Hotel is well situated, calm and at a good walking distance from the centre of Bovec. Very nice, friendly and helpful people at the reception! The rooms were great, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is really great, done with local products as some of the drinks homemade.
