We had booked the Editory Artist for 3 nights however our booking was slided to Riberia due the renovation of Artist Hotel is not finished for re-opening. But we are so glad that it didn't open in time! The location of the hotel could be the one of the best in Porto, 100 m away from the famous Riberia where all the restaurants on the riverside are. Almost every tourist hotspot is by walking distance! The rooms are very nice decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is very intercontinental and offers fried egg or omelette if you like! There is a taxi station next to the hotel so from/on to airport and/or train station is not an issue. We loved the hotel so much so we changed our next booking for 2 additional nights to stay there. We would like to thank sincerely to Mr. Jorge, Ms. Claudia, Ms.Christiana, Ms.Renata and all the team in Riberia for their kindness and support to manage the booking and make us feel like home! Definitely one of the best choice for Porto!

The rooms on the street side could be a little noisy however they have changed our room to the one in the back alley which was very quiet.

Location near the river was great. Though it's a walk to some other sites in the city I think this is an ideal location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and accommodating and professional. I always felt safe and looked after. The room was comfortable, cool and had everything I needed. I would come back for sure!

The only thing I would have liked to know about was a new feature - I believe it is an app that you download from the hotel and gives you access to city sites, maps and you can make local calls for free. I did not find out about this until checkout and it would have been nice to use it while I was there since I was there a week. Also, I understood when I checked in that breakfast was only offered as a set price. I later found out you could order a few things like coffee or toast without ordering the full breakfast. It would have been nice to know this because I was in search of coffee each morning and a small breakfast and it would have been more convenient to have it at the hotel. These are very minor details and would not deter me from coming back!

Two of the staff are spectacularly friendly and helpful.  One is the trainee Beatrice (Beatriz?).  The other is a blonde with a round and broadly-smiling face who is always so genuinely positive.   The breakfast was stupendous.  That it was open until 12 noon was a huge benefit, and a great comparative advantage for this hotel; it's amazing that more properties don't pursue this advantage.  Plus, the breakfast quality was extremely high, and the service excellent, with the staff always happy to retrieve replenishments or special orders from the kitchen.  The beverages deserve a special mention, with a cappuccino-coffee-hot milk machine, pear nectar, fresh orange juice, and a lactose-free milk option.  Oh, and the space, with its huge mural, is very pleasing.   Daily housekeeping was excellent. The location was just superb, pretty much perfect.  Very close to the river tourist area (and thus also to biking and bus routes along the river and out to the beaches), but a straightforward walk (uphill out, then downhill back) to the Metro, to the walking bridge over the Douro to Gaia, and to most of the interesting sights to see (even as far as the wonderful gardens of the Palacio de Crystal.

Three of the front-desk staff (1 man, 2 women) are satisfactory, but not really motivated to provide top customer service.  Our standard double room was cozy; it worked for us, but a bit more floor and desk space would have been nice.  Water on the shower stall floor would leak onto the bathroom floor once we opened the door; to prevent this, we had to 'squeegee' the water away from the door with our feet.

Well, I have to say, I really really loved this place l, the location was great and the staff was soooo friendly and nothing was too much bother. I would like to give my compliments to the two staff members at reception at check in on the 26/11/2021 and check out on the 28/11/2021. Thank you both and I hope to return one day.

The only little “negative” is the toilet area in the rooms just because the door is glass and you can see and hear everything.

Absolutely amazing! We arrived a little before check in time and were greeted by lovely reception staff, who gave us a little glass of Port and a pastel de nata. They informed us the hotel was fully booked and we had been upgraded to the penthouse! We had an incredible room with an even more incredible balcony with spectacular views. The location of the hotel is perfect. We had breakfast included in the price and it had a variety of continental and cooked foods.

I really can't find fault in this hotel.

We loved the location and the small balcony view of the street. The port wine and Pastel de nata on arrival were my favourite of the trip. Staff very friendly and helpful

My only regret was the noise outside at night. The street seems to be the main road from the tunnel across to the other side of the river where ambulances and sirens came each night, or it could have been from the police station around the corner. Either way, it was not the fault of the hotel.

Ineffective air conditioning - seemed not to dehumidify at night - did not respond to temperature lowering. Bedside reading lamps could not be directed to book while reading in bed. No individual switches for bedside lamps - turned on and off only both at once. Inconvenient placing of various room lighting switches. Insufficient distance between TV wall and bed end. In bathroom - not enough racks and hangers.

Great location, near to the town and to the river and port houses. Good selection at breakfast. Nice glass of Port and Portuguese tart on arrival. Friendly staff. Quiet room.

They advertise use of mobile telephone during your stay but these weren’t available when we were there. There was no hairdryer in the room and when I asked for one was told that people take them, that’s not really my problem, when I’m paying for the Penthouse I expect the hairdryer to be replaced. They did bring one within twenty minutes but it should have been replaced when the room was serviced before I arrived.

Warm welcome by Giovanna who provided us with lots of information on attractions and restaurants and where they were located in relation to the hotel. We also were given a glass of port and some pastel de nata on arrival which was a lovely gesture. Breakfast was good and served up until noon at the weekends so that was a plus!

Room was a good size with everything you could need including tea & coffee and a bottle of water replenished daily. The only negative was the bed...the mattress was very hard.... a softer mattress or the addition of a topper would have added a little more comfort.
