Overall, we had an amazing stay here. The property is stunning in an area of Portugal that is also stunning, surrounded by hills, cork trees, vineyards, and quaint towns. This property has so much potential, and the wine is very good! The main building is kept up very well, and the path around the lake was wonderful. We also went during the harvest festival, which was among the most amazing experiences we've ever had, when traveling. The food and wine were delicious. The activities were fun and went into the late night. The people were kind.
The L'and View suites are not kept up particularly well. Other room categories may be far better maintained, as is the property and the main building. Bulbs are out, and they need a deep cleaning and a refurbishment. We had to switch rooms during our stay because the A/C unit was not working well, curtains were torn, and the room had some cleanliness issues. The second room was better but also seemed worn. For the price point, we expected greater care toward these detail. Also, the restaurant disappointed us, with portion size quite small and the food not as tasty as some other restaurants we visited in the region. I would not recommend the fish.

No safe in our room and traveled with another couple with safe which did not work, grounds and room a little tired, needs an uplift; breakfast staff was slow getting coffee and service to each table.
