The design of the guesthouse it’s beautifully done. Everything’s designed wanting to make you feel home, with an extra touch of care. Our room was cozy, the bed was super comfortable. Handsoap, body was, body lotion, hair phone all included. We loved the design of the courtyard, the plants are beautiful and we could smell the lavender everywhere. The breakfast was delicious, a mix of homemade jam, mini croissants, mini pancakes and local cheese, freshly baked bread, abundant plate of fruits, coffee and fresh orange juice.. we couldn’t have asked for better stay!

Entering the hotel from the street was one of the highlights of our stay. The interior is serene, quiet, elegant. You walk through several common sitting areas inviting for a restful stay of reading and quiet talking. The common area connects through large glass doors to an inner courtyard with small tables, perfect for a romantic take-out dinner. Breakfast was out of the world. Beautifully arranged fruits and cheeses, variety of breads, freshy cooked eggs, Nespresso coffee and milk foamer - always great. Personal rooms are across the courtyard. They are small but since there are several common sitting areas and the courtyard to hang out this was not an issue for us. Mattress was very high quality and extremely comfortable. Beautiful and very clean bathroom.

My husband would like more comfortable chairs in room. Additional outlets for charging electronics would be convenient. I am not sure that the description addresses the fairly steep stairs to the bedroom area. This was not problem for us but possibly for older folks or folks with issues climbing stairs.

What a beautiful, tasteful and tranquil place. We loved it. Although we did not meet the owners, Mariana and Maria, who run the Guest House, are exemplary! Lovely, LOVELY ladies! The bed was the most comfortable in which we have ever slept and breakfast was probably the best we have every had anywhere, and we have travelled a great deal! We cannot rate Aljana highly enough! Special hugs and thanks to Mariana and Maria. Hope to see you again in the not too distant future!

We had the most wonderful time in Aljana guest house. The place is very beautiful, well situated, peaceful and decorated with a great sens of care and details. We really feel at home during the single night we spent there. Bedding is amazing. I wish I have the same bed at home.... the breakfast is homemade with fresh and locals products, very tasty and healthy as well. I kept a great memory of the goat cheese mixed with honey. We met the owner and she showed us the rest of the house. We appreciated her kindness, flexibility and her devotion in making our experience inforguettable. Thank you for everything ! I would love to come back!

In the middle of the city of Beja is an oasis of tranquility. Close to everything, amazing breakfast, impeccable interior design taste. Great for chilling or as a base to explore the nearby wineries. Tasty breakfast and a light cold cut plate to die for.

Opt for a bigger room to avoid stairs. The double rooms have a comfortable bed upstairs, but space besides that is the size of a suitcase. Luckily amazing common areas make up for it.

Most things were very good and the place and the welcoming exceeded our expectations. A nice location with so very tasteful and personal interior design. We also appreciated the small garden with the little pool. The breakfast was prepared, not of your own choise, but very nice and beautiful with fresh fruits.

The door to the room was very thin, and the floor of stones made noices very clear. We only stayed one night, but if more I had absolutely been disturbed.

Stunningly restored ancient building with the old wine storage area converted into rooms. We enjoyed the a large guest lounge and beautifully kept courtyard garden. Breakfast was amazing, much of it sourced from the owner's own land. Very friendly and welcoming, right in the centre next to the castle - a particularly memorable stay.

Our room had a mezzanine with fairly steep stairs up to the bed, which fairly filled the space. Absolutely fine for us but not ideal for someone with mobility issues or vertigo.

The place was very calm, well decorated and clean. I liked everything, however I have to highlight the breakfast. I have been to many places, places where I go just for breakfast/ brunch (restaurantes) or 5 star hotels around the world, but none oh those places provided the breakfast which we have eaten at Aljana guest house. It was superb! The way how was presented, the quality of the products and an amazing variety. Honestly the biggest surprise, it elevated to another level our stay! If you like food and you are looking to relax, this is the place. Just go and you won’t regret.

While the pool aligned with our expectations, everything else about the place blew us away! The room was super comfy and the extra high ceiling made it feel much larger than what we expected. The sky window on top of the bed was just amazing with a glimpse of the Alentejo starry sky (the lights in town make it hard to fully appreciate it). The external and indoor lounge areas really surprised us, you can't really get a feeling from the photos here. A tasteful mix of traditional architecture, furniture and decoration with a minimal modernist aesthetic. The jazz music really sets the mood and on colder days there's even a cozy fireplace. The owner and staff are super welcoming and it was a pleasure to talk with everyone (even other guests) about the region, the country and our experiences inside and outside of Portugal. Did we refer the breakfast? Just wow! Fresh, plentiful and tasty local products. Lot's of fruit, charcuterie, cheese and even freshly made pancakes. The scrambled eggs and ham were out of this world Being lactose intolerant myself after we explained what I could not eat, they went out of their way to adapt the breakfast as much as possible. The dairy free pancakes were still awesome and fluffy and the olive oil scrambled eggs were even better than the regular butter ones (local olive oil is to die for in case you are not aware). There are a lot of eating out options in walking distance and you will be in the perfect location to discover all that Beja has to offer.

The pool is bit heavy on the chlorine which is understandable due to the winged neighbors but maybe not 100% necessary. But having a pool in the shadow of the church is worth it anyway!

Excellent breakfast with a selection of local products. Very friendly owners. Beautifully renovated and decorated Alentejan house with a very relaxing atmosphere.
