Hostel Helvetia

Cool guy working on reception. ;) Common space is big with a lot of tables and chairs. Bathroom is also big and has two toilets and showers. Breakfast had bread, cheese, meat, cucumber, tomato, butter, nutella, marmalade, apple juice. You can get a towel for 10 zł. A free map of the city is provided, and it served me a lot. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore the city and just sleep somewhere in the centre. You can make your room very dark for good sleep. Location is close to metro, old town and Vistula river. I like how they put sticky notes with information in Polish and English to a lot of things in hostel so you don't need to ask much. Good Internet.

Nowhere to put things when showering. You need to place your bag on the floor in bathroom. I would suggest adding one plastic table to the bathroom that can be moved, as there is a lot of space. The floors are sticky so I always had sneakers on. No charger next to the upper bed, which is must have in hostels as you don't want your valuables away from you while you sleep. This means if you set alarm and your device is charging somewhere in the room, you will wake up everyone as it takes time to get off the bed. There are no small lights above the beds, so if you need the light you disturb everyone in the room.

i stayed for 2 nights during the beyonce concert and it was one of the last cheap options to book. it was clean, 4 people in the room was just enough to have privacy (as we met only in the evening), the common room was very cosy and the kitchen had a coffee machine which was free to use. the location is wonderful, i walked everywhere without a problem. there were convenient locked boxes under the bed which could be used for your belongings. also, the managers very extremely helpful, especially Nika. overall, it was a peaceful stay

showering was a bit difficult. even though the cabins are locked and bathrooms are divided for women/men, there were no shelves or anything inside to put your clothes in (and not get everything wet). luckily i was almost always alone there and put my bag with clothes outside, but it was inconvenient. in addition, the mirror and the table in my room were a bit wobbly, so it was a challenge to sit on the chair, and it was pretty dark as the mirror is opposite the sun in the corner of the room. also it was a bit pricey but i guess it's because of the beyonce concert

The staff are very helpful. Because I can't communicate well in English. And I like privacy. good roommate

What I'm worried about is when I return at night. I can't enter the hostel. Because the hostel changed the door code You have to wait for the staff to open the door. Sometimes there is no one have to wait for a long time But there was no problem. Because all the employees are great.

maybe i am wrong with exact numbers, but we had approx 14 rooms on the floor with 6 or 8 people inside each and one washroom with just one toilet and two showers for both man and girls, there was second wing on the floor with theirs set of rooms and two more showers but still not enough, several times i had to wait till somebody fries them and common for almost all hostels and here its the same: guys do you not earn enough money to put more pegs into rooms ? i had jacket, sweater and trousers all on one peg btw: good that you have lockers in room

The hostel is very good located. Everything you need is there. The staff at the reception is super friendly, helpful and professional. Especially Nika. Thanks a lot ❤️ The only thing I would definitely add is the hooks in the bathrooms. And it would be nice to have a little lamp for each bed so do not to disturb the other guests in the room with upper light.

the place is really good located , near from old town a really pleasure walk , you have a little market and a few barber shops around , near from metro station and you manage everything with a code rooms and kitchen are always clean if you pick the metro in 20 min you’re in the metro station flixbus station , it could be a bit far

just a little situation w a lost cable , the girl at reception didn’t spoke english so i couldn’t fixed it Google maps location (trough booking) took me around 5km in other direction so be careful w that

We rented the room mainly because of the location, however, keeping in mind that this is a hostel, we were pleasantly surprised as we received free water bottles, sweets, toothbrushes, towels and a hairdryer. We were happy with our choice to stay in this hostel.

The room could have been cleaner - it wasn't bad but could be better.

Location was great! Staff was super nice and shared bathroom was nicely clean so it was comfortable to do preparation before going to city.

Wall are thin so it's easy to hear people walking throughout a night. I didn't have issue to sleep but my partner need to use him earplugs.

The place was very quiet and the girls at the reception were very nice. We came on 31/12 and they gifted us a bottle of wine and invited to their party in the hall. Our room was spacious and all was very clean. The position is perfect, only 10 minutes from the center and 20 minutes from the old city (by foot). It is also 5 minutes from two bus stops. The rooms were cozy and warm.

Great location near the main street with grocery shops and fast food restaurants. Our room windows were facing the inner yard which was very quiet.

Although it's labeled as pet friendly, we had to pay for our pets to stay during check-in. Also we had to leave a deposit of 500 PLN for any incurred damage, but it wasn't explained clearly what it covers. In the end during the check-out inspection the room manager just checked for holes in the doors and walls.
