Thon Hotel Nordlys

Nice hotel with nice location in the city center. Good rooms with good beds, nice hotel facilies (free coffe and te, nice lobby, connected restaurant. Excellent breakfast with amazing selection of fresh food, difficult to stop eating :-).

Be carefull with parking - onyl public avaiable, but not in front of the hotel (small sign that it is only for taxi and buses despite parking machine just in fron of the hotel- easy to get ticket and penalty). Troubles with check-in (after short black-out) rooms card reader did not work so no chance to get into the rooms, it was nice to have normal keys in past :-)). Bodo city itself is nothing special just to stay over night for ferry connections to Lofotens or to explore nice mountains and lakes nearby.

We loved our stay and the friendly staff who were happy to help when you had questions about what to do in the area. The location was perfect for exploring the surroundings. So convenient to have the airport just a 12 minute walk from the front door! The breakfast was delicious, the coffee was perfect and an overall delightful experience. The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!

Our room was a little dated, and not much of a view. I took my mom here for her birthday and wanted to make it a little extra special. But couldn’t get a response when I emailed.

The location is brilliant just next to the marina and a nice walk along the pier and quayside. The breakfast is outstandin, lots of choice, cozy atmosphere. The standard bedroom is reasonably big, no noise. Tea and coffee facilities inside the room but also in the lobby for guests to enjoy... This is a real plus. Egon restaurant which is part of the hotel is worth a dinner! The fish soup was delicious!

Toilet is leaking, toilet roll holder and bathroom bin damaged. I was surprised the bed wasnt made every day as most 4 star hotels do... Overall it did not really bother us that much but you would expect a bit more from a 4 star hotel.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful at check-in The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking was easy and free (on the street on a weekend)

It was hot. We kept the windows open in late September to stay cool enough. The refrigerator power was off when we turned off the lights, so had to sleep with some lights on to keep the food cold.

We love this hotel and its location. It is situated in extreme close proximity to Egon which is fantastic. It's not at all far from the city centre Glasshuset, nor the boat that we arrived with. The staff are all excellent. We asked if it was possible to check out late, and they were very helpful. We also arrived early due to the fact that only one boat can take us to Bodø, and it was no problem. They are very friendly as well. Breakfast is delicious, and offers lactose-free milk (and other products, like yogurt) which I love. We booked this hotel due to our excellent stay last time.

I only wish the kettles in the rooms would be changed. I drink a lot of tea, and the look of the kettles are not always great. Minor detail though.

Hotel doesn´t have own parking lot. However, it is possible to park in ca 200 m distant garage, but for 23 EUR/day. This hotel, the same as some other hotels in Norway, asks payment at check-in. Other receptionist investigated ca 5 minutes at check-out whether I had everything paid or not. So couldn´t it be paid at check-out not to confuse and bother guests ?

Excellent location overlooking the harbour. Comfortable beds. Coffee and tea facilities in room. Good bathroom. Very good breakfast.

Not much, but there were a couple of minor technical problems, e.g. bathroom door needed pushing to shut, window handles missing or wobbly. Two coffee cups not clean. The door opened in the middle of the night. The electronic key system should be explained because the key card has to be used to open AND lock from the outside when leaving. From the inside the door can be locked by the knob.

Great room, central location within reach of all the shops and restaurants by foot. Plentiful street parking outside which is free from 4pm to 8pm but the hotel has 24hour parking available for 200 NOK. Really nice breakfast and there is a restaurant at the property. Many more nearby. I would stay here again.

No problems with anything.

Everything. The staff themselves offered me a late checkout , without even me asking for it . Room was very aesthetically done and loved the option of having a chromecast . Breakfast was excellent. I had some trouble operating the coffee machine and the staff was again super friendly. 10/10 for the staff. Wifi was great. Super location.

Nothing really. Maybe one of the cups had one of its edges broken but not a problem for me as the other cup was fine but maybe they should take care of this.

Good, typical Thon Hotel Standard in terms of room decor and equipment. Great breakfast (also a "typical" Thon feature). Great Central Location on the waterfront. Street parking at moderate (for Norwegian standard) pricing only 100m away (Parking zone 2).
