Chancabañita Tulum

Cute little cabanas. We stayed at the ones with partial sea view which was great. Really relaxed atmosphere compared to all the beach clubs next door. Direct access to the beach with sun beds. Breakfast is really good. For the price it is really great to be in Tulum but still be a bit more laid back. Parking is available, and they have a gate they close at night and sometimes even during the day.

Unfortunately no Moskito net over the bed. Due to the cabana style it is really hard to get everything closed off with the Moskitonets they have at the windows.

EXCELLENT location and amazing experience. best part of tulum beach in my opinion from travelling many times to tulum over the years. We were pleased to have our luggage cared for and stored while we enjoyed the beach early before check in. The front desk worker offered to give us two beach towels and we had a wonderful first part of our day enjoying the beach in front of this cabaña. Great beach chairs for lounging and it felt like we had our own private beach. The room was large and spacious. very large and comfortable bed. The maids were so lovely and paid special attention to detail. We had moved the mirror above the sink that was too high for me (in short) so I could see a full body… and you are surprised, the next day after having our room cleaned a full body mirror was added to our room in the living room in addition to replacing the mirror in the bathroom! be mindful the fan has operation hours and works from about 6PM to 9am. the lack of AC was no issue for us, the fan was huge and worked very well. The breakfast was great, delicious yoghurt with oatmeal on top, toast and a large selection of fruit. I had asked for coffee early one morning and one of the lovely maids brought a full pot to our cabaña with two mugs.. they were so sweet. we loved stepping into the sand from our porch walking to the beach just steps away. It felt like home!! we didn’t want to leave… be sure to catch a sunset in the morning about 7 am. please buy cat food for the resident cat family, they are SO sweet. they slept on our porch and we got lots of food from the Go Mart about a 8 min walk away.

Only minor issue was noise from guests upstairs one morning. this was only due to then being up early walking around and making quite a bit of noise. next time we will book an upper suite cabaña.

I had such an amazing time at Chancabañita. I shared the "Amatista" bungalow with my best friend and we were so impressed by the size of the bed and the overall space inside. It's very specious and highly recommended for 2 friends also not only couple. At night it was very quite, far from the madness that we could hear the sound of the sea from the bungalow. It was right at the front to the breakfast area and with few steps more you could reach the beach. This hotel has everything you need and the stuff was so nice and kind with us. We really switch off our brain and went completely with the flow. They have sun bed on the beach (in a nice and quite Tulum beach area) and in the room we found also beach towels, plus shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast is quite simple: fruits, yogurt and coffee but good enough to start the day ;) Location is great and close to all clubs and restaurants. They also gave us bikes for free to use along our entire stay I mean what else do you need? For us it was simply perfect, thanks a lot to all the stuff and I will come back for sure!

If I really need to find something: Only black coffee in the morning which was fine but of course having more options like espresso or cappuccino would have been awesome. Bed was comfy but little bit too hard for me.

Absolutely best place we stayed at in Mexico. We had a seaview cabin and enjoyed the great view. The staff is super friendly, different from other places in Tulum. You can enjoy the sunbeds, bring your own drinks and food. We were afraid of the possible noise from the next door beachclub, but that was not loud and stopped at 8 PM so no noise at night. There’s only a fan no AC but with the sea breeze we did not experience this as an issue.

I think they can improve their foto’s, since I do think this place deserves a better online impression since for us it was better than expected.

Amazing location right on the beach. The staff were all lovely and let us use the bikes for free. They also gave us free snacks and even a bottle of wine. Great breakfasts of fruit, yogurt and toast. We had the best room of the hotel. Huge comfortable bed. Lovely cooling breeze and handy ceiling fan.

The Sargassum seaweed on the beach. Not the hotel's fault but very bad for tourism.

No-frills cabanas that have everything you really need - in room restroom, fan, mosquito nets, safe, porch, common areas in a shady garden, beach beds. Very clean and cozy, with good breakfast. Good value for its price in today's Tulum beach, and very close to what was beachside accommodation years ago

Everything was good; the addition of a small beach bar sellig at least water, soft drinks and beers would be a plus!

Location is great, small intimate setting. Basic & simple facility. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, simple & light, great way to start the day of hanging out at beach & all dining at the surrounding restaurants.

no ac in the rooms only ceiling fan. upper levels have great sea breezes, no need for AC, but lower levels are kind of hot if fan is off. Also, the water from the faucets are salt water… not the best water in my opinion

This met our expectations as the price and accommodations were perfect. Our friends were paying much more while staying down the road at the Coco Limited so it was an easy walk! The breakfast was everything you need and the beach was beautiful and close!

The bed was a little stiff but not uncomfortable. Only one of the two USB ports worked which caused a little bit of an issue. Outside of that, it was perfect!

Our room had a balcony with a view of the Caribbean. Just beautiful. The staff were all helpful and friendly.

The hotel is right next door to a bar/restaurant that played music with a pounding bass line all day long (10am to 6pm every day, and until 11pm on Sunday). It made relaxing there during the day impossible for us.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be better. It’s right on the beach in the hotel zone with everything you need right there. The staff was so friendly and helpful and kept the entire place extremely clean. Free breakfast every morning was simple but delightful and just another great addition to our stay.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. What is lacks in some more modern design and comforts it makes up for in charm and character one thousand fold.
