Selva y Mar Apart Hotel - 5Th Ave by BFH

Reading the reviews, our expectations of this place were very low however we had a really good experience . The room was well equipped with a stove and cooking utensils and the building itself is quite beautiful with all the plants. The location is awesome , nice and quiet and close to the beach. The free breakfast was really delicious. Not a whole lot of food but it was tasty :)

They are very strict with the 3 pm check in however you have until 12 to check out so it’s not a big deal.

I have stayed here at least 6 times and i like the location (10 min walk to the beach, and a 30 second walk to 5th avenue). The accommadation..(the rooms have a kitchenette, a comfortable bed, TV, and a good WiFi signal) The building has a palapa roof terrace, with loungers and chairs. The breakfast is in a different location. The restaurant is a 10 min walkaway just off 5th ave and consisted of Eggs al gusto, a little fruit, coffee and Juice. I would choose Selva y Mar again.

"A Friendly Warning" This time there was a 'Rooster' in the garden next door which started crowing at 4.30am and continued until 8am. I know that it's not the hotels fault, but it did ruin my stay this time.

Great price at a great location. The staff was helpful with everything we needed, Alma the receptionist was especially great. It has a cool terrace on the roof which was great to hang at in the evenings. Good coffee at the breakfast.

The internet sometimes worked great, and other times were completely hopeless. The shower wasn't the best pressure and temperature. The breakfast was very small (also very cheap).

We are having a Super Plesant & comfortable stay here. Our room is spacious and clean. Include: a small kitchen with a stove, katelry ,fridge, and microwave. 2 bedrooms, with A/C in each one of them. Plenty of hot water in the shower and a very nice stream! 3 Nice small balconies with a nice breeze and shadow.. The place is well located! at a relatively quiet street right next to the 5' Avenida. 15'min walk to 'Soriana' supermarket. 10' more or less walk to the closest beach. We have also free continental breakfast at the Hotel 'Casa Ticul' which is 2' min walk from here. The hotel manager (Mica) she is Super friendly! kind and always willing to help with everything. English speaker. This is our second stay (long-term) in here and in this time is the best one. If you looking for a quiet , present, well located,comfortable place ,That you can also cook in there. This Great place is a no-brainer. Book it! Greetings :)

Its a beautiful setting with palmtrees and so much vegetation, the room is nice and authentic looking the location is perfect. Also the staff at the Casa Ticul where they give you the keys are soooo friendly Alma and there was a young guy at the evening shift Julian or Juan-im so sorry i cant remember the name:(They were extremely helpful with everything!will go back soon!

Clean, modern, small but has everything you’ll need. I especially like the fact that the guesthouse is surrounded by plants, very beautiful

I wish the staff could inform us about the check-in location being in another street. We found that out by knocking on the door of the store outside the hotel.

The place is located to one of the best seafood restaurants, El Pirata so that's a good start. The place is really quiet at nights and very peaceful. I loved the place and the staff is great. They are very kind and helpful people, specially Alma, at the front desk, so thank you all for the great times.

The property is nice, located at the end of 5th Avenue (side street), it is quiet at night, the rooftop is nice for some relaxing and the kitchen in the room is convenient to cook up some snacks. The wifi is fast and works really well. They have different networks all around the appartment complex so signal is strong everywhere

The cleaning service was very unclear. After 3 days we discovered that other rooms had a sign to hang up if they wanted cleaning but we did not have that sign. And at the reception they told us it was not necessary and that your room will be cleaned no matter what. But in 4 days we had run out of toilet paper, our trash bins were full and still no cleaning lady had entered our appartment. We talked about this with the reception and they told us they will clarify/solve the situation with the cleaning lady. So hopefully it is solved for the next guests

Receptionist Alma was very nice and helpful, I had several questions during my 7 day stay. She was always with a smile and reqdy to help. About the place itself Location is great

Price quality ratio is unbeatable. The location was ideal as well, just at the end of 5th avenue which can be a bit noisy and only 10 minute walking distance from the beach. The staff was great. Unfortunately someone stole my phone (no fault of the hotel) and both Erik and Maribel were more than helpful to get the things sorted out. Erik even took me to the police station to file a report. The hotel had one of the comfortable mattresses in Mexico. The cleaning staff was exception and very friendly. Thanks Vicky!

I didn't like the check in procedure. I guess I needed to pay more attention to the map that they sent to me via whatsapp that explains that the check in is at a different location. When I brought this to Ulisse's attention he really didn't seem to care. I had to insist on leaving my bags there and not carry them back and forth. I later found out from one of the guests that so many people come to Estudios stand at the gate and ring the bell only to find no one to greet them or check them in. Lastly, I did want to stay longer and asked for a monthly rate, I was told that the rate was the was the same as the daily rate that I found on booking or at the hotel. At the point I left much to my dismay.
