The hotel consists of several bungalows/huts, which we really liked. To get to the rooms you walk through a little jungle in the backyard which is covered with palms and banana trees - really beautiful. The room has a huge bed which was really comfortable and the outdoor bathroom made it unique. The location is perfect - it's just a minute away from the center with all the shops, restaurants and bars; and also really close to the lagoon. The noise from the bar next to the hotel was not at all bad. From the previous reviews we read that it should be really loud, but we didn't had any problems and could easily sleep - I guess this depends on how sensitive you are in your sleep :-)

- The shower only had warm water on one day, the other day it was cold - The room is pretty dark, the one light bulb is not filling the room with light - There was just few possibilities to hang / put your clothes

It was close to the main square and restaurants. The pool area was very relaxing and the stone huts were quaint and very dark Which allowed for very good sleeps. Bacalar itself was one of favourite places with friendly people, good food, and a gorgeous lake to swim in. on of the few places on the Yucutan that has free beach access.

The bar behind the hotel was the place to party and if you were a light sleeper it would keep you up. if you like to party it would be perfect. Also our rental car was broken into our front and the spare tire was stolen. Viva la Mexico

The location can't be beat - really cute room, VERY comfortable bed, great outdoor shower. A fun little Palapa situation that we really loved...staff super friendly, helpful, everything great except the late-night noise which due to location, can't be avoided...

This was no fault of the hotel, but the location means that you are hearing the louder bars / clubs nearby until roughly 12:45AM (on weekdays, wknds prob later). Earplugs are provided - the hotel is aware of this issue - but for anyone looking for absolute peace and quiet, this is not the place. Still very lovely though!

I loved the aesthetic. It was beautiful and secluded by having cabin-like individual rooms with outdoor showers. They partner up with a riverfront hotel, which is a good 20 min walk away that has a few hammocks and kayaks available for rent. The place was clean and the location was in the heart of the plaza. Walking around was very easy. Right behind, there is a bar called "Ice- Scream" that is open until 3 AM, so you can hear the music. Fortunately, the room I had was not sharing that lot line and the music was bearable. Also, being from NYC, I'm not sure how reliable my noise tolerance is in relationship to others. I thought it was bearable.

The lighting was a bit too dim.

The style is beautiful. Wonderful materials inside, beautiful gardens outside. Loved the indoor bathroom with half roof so you feel outdoors but have total privacy. The most wonderful and helpful ladies running the place were so generous with their suggestions for where to go. We came here at a bit of a low point on our trip following some tough times on the road. We felt well cared for and left feeling inspired and rested.

A couple of small details could be improved on, but didn’t spoil our trip. The rooms are very dark in a lovely cozy way, due to the Palapa/hut theme. A brighter light bulb or an extra wall lamp would make it easier to find things in the room. Also a shelf or some hooks to put things on would be great. Lovely stay all round.

Lovely bungalow in a jungle garden, close to the lagoon and square. A nice experience in Bacalar. We loved the outdoor shower. The birds are particularly tuneful here. Staff are lovely too.

The windows have no mosquito nets. The music from the nearby bar kept us awake. Not a fault of the resort, but we didn't sleep well. Shame!

The hotel was really Nice. bedsheets were super soft. The Workers were really Nice and helpfull. you Will stay next to banana and limon trees

breakfast was not that good. you Will get banana and cereal. also the place is really crowded. there is a nightclub behind the hotel so You can here Every music they Will play. The hotel Will give you earplugs and it helped but they also have dogs in the street who Will bark at everything

Very nice atmosphere, cosy cabins, great location, suberb staff that was really helpful in everything. From switching rooms, organizing a sailingtrip and very early checkout because we left for Calakmul. noise did not bother is in our sleep at all. was not as loud as some other reviews might suggest. had a great stay.

Beautiful set up of stone huts covered by a straw roof. Minimalistic, tastefuly equipped, extremely comfortable,natural materials. Amazing outdoor shower after which you enter even more amazing bed with the most comfortable mattress and the softest beddings I have ever tried! You open the window and see banana trees.... All of this upgrated by the extraordinary staff which will make your stay outstanding! You must try...

That I couldn't stay there longer....

Very lovely cabanas and the shower is awesome! Though it took longer for the hot water to come but it's not a big deal as it's better to shower there with normal water. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Just that they don't offer breakfast which was a bit inconvenient for us because we needed to find breakfast for us with our 2 year old son.
