Thot was my 5th time in Maldives and the second time on Dhawa Ihuru (when I was here the first time the name of the resort was Angsana Ihuru). It is a small island (45 rooms) with a beautiful house reef (you basically get out of your room and in 5-10 meters from the shore you’re surrounded by lots and lots of fish and you can see live corals, sharks, turtles and octopuses). The reefs looks better now than 2 years ago when I was here (their conservation work really paid off). The rooms are spacios and qnice and the bathrooms have outdoor showers. Every room has a very nice private outdoor area with a swing, a big round sunbed and the usual outside table with 2 chairs and 2 sunbeds. The food was good and varied with a lot of very tasty maldivian and asian dishes. A special mention to Siyaf, our host, who helped us with everything and gave us honest advice about extras. Another special mention to Shareef, our waiter, who remembered us from the last time we were there and cared for us in the same nice and unintrusive way. But all the people working here are so nice and helpful! Now I’m planning to return here next year! 😎

They made the jet skies available (probably starting thos year) and I think this is in total contradiction with the spirit of this resort (you don’t come to this type of resort expecting to find swiming pools, motorized water sports and disco music).

Small island ,very peaceful & relaxed atmosphere.villas were pretty good size.spa was fantastic.restaurant was very good,brilliant service by the staff at the restaurant

Could do with new bar setting & add extra items on the menu on the bar.the drink selection could be improved a lot.

Oh, where to start? Staff, food, landscape and maintenance make this place exceptional - and trust me, we are FUSSY customers (architects) with high expectations. This entire island becomes yours during your stay (we swam its circumference daily) and with the smiles and attitude of the staff, you will love it. Staff? Let me illustrate - Ismail who cleaned our villa at the beginning and end of each day (yes twice) did not just straighten the bed and tidy up as you'd expect in a 5 star hotel, Ismail made the villa reach check-in standard TWICE a day e.g. mini-bar replenished, fresh linen, flowers on the beds, even mannequins made from palm leaves for our 3yo and 6yo daughters, who carried them around with them for days afterwards!! Or the chef at breakfast who made pancakes for our daughters in the shape of turtles, flowers, dolphins each morning, little touches like that distinguish this resort above many others hence the score of 10/10. Honestly the quality of the setting and the sea (especially what is beneath the sea) I guarantee will BLOW YOUR MIND!! Don't hesitate to book but if you do, please take care not to damage the fragile coral with your fins or allow any litter to reach the gorgeous sea. It is a fragile environment which needs to be treated with great care and respect.

Nothing. How can you improve on perfection?

This was our first time in Maldives and my family choosed to spend 12 days at Angasana Ihuru Resort and Spa. We couldn´t have done a better choice. This island is a dream and corresponds with its round shape to the dream of a Maldives island. The welcome was very friendly and after 20 minutes we were already on the island. We stayed at a beach bungalow that was functionally furnished, but with attention to detail and with direct access to the beach (the sea was just one minute away). Peace and quiet is the name of the game. The resort is very beautiful, has great vegetation and is very well maintained. The best thing was the view of the turquoise sea. Beach is very calm and private, given the small size of the resort and the fact that each villa has its own beach area. The staff is warmth, professional, with a really attentive service. Wifi speed was reliable and fast and you can count with twice a day housekeeping. We found the food to be very tasty. The house reef is excellent and easy to reach, with the most amazing sea life: We saw Rays, sharks, turtles, clown fish amongst many when we snorkeled. This island is a gem when it comes to marine life; some of the best snorkeling I've ever had worldwide. Dining is also great A tiny island which felt like your own private island in Maldivas.

The island is cozy and peaceful. The atmosphere is very relaxed (we were walking around barefoot most of the time). The house reef is beautiful, full of life and easy to reach. We enjoyed the occasional 10 minute shoulder and neck massage at breakfast and the short sunset cruise. The New Year's eve dinner was delicious, the party was fun and the personalized Sarong was a lovely surprise. The restaurant offered enough variety every meal, with both international and local dishes. The staff is extremely kind, friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember all the names, but I can't. Just to mention a few... Frontdesk: Sambe, Naoufel and others. Kids club: Aini and Raikko (our daughter still has the bracelets and the paper basket they crafted together). Room: Hameed. Restaurant: Ziyad, Salmaan, Liu,.... Breakfast: Ismail freshly pressing juice with the fruit of our choice, and Pawan preparing eggs in your favorite way. Bar: Rohit, Hanane and others. The staff at the Water Sports center. And so many others... Thank you. This was a great way to pamper myself for my birthday :)

The week passed by too quickly... :) Otherwise, despite the posters with clear rules, advising against feeding marine creatures, there were guests taking bread from the restaurant and feeding the fish. This kind of behavior is, from my perspective, a sign of disregard for conservation efforts, not to mention ignorance. The people in the villa next to ours were also feeding the birds... :( More signs, for example at the jetty, could help preventing this.

The island is tiny and this brings a clear VIP effect and a lot of quietness and privacy. It's a real bonus. Meals were really good, variety for everyone but not too much and it's a pleasant point. I personnally prefered the buffet dinner than the "à la carte" ones, that were a bit frustrating for us.

2 small things : First, as told to the reception, I think the information about how to behave in water and especially while snorkling (with finns) should be made more clear, with a real speech on arrival. Somme people were clearly behaving wrong in water, having no idea of the space around them and having there own finns touching the coral without noticing it. I believe it's important that everyone takes part of the wildlife protection. Second, the "all inclusive package" should be clearly extended to the FULL stay (it's only a matter of a few hours for the hotel, it changes nothing for the resort as some clients arrive late or leave early, but the feeling would be clearly better for the customers)...too bad to give a petty feeling just before departure :-(

Very nice island.. small and calm.. the rooms are nice ..all the staff are nice people.. suitable for couples or family which their kids 10 years and below .. the price with full board is suitable.. the food themes are changing everyday and the food is delicious .. they meet your requirements of food regarding the kids and very flexible to cook for you kid whatever you need.. Yafis and Nitu was very nice at the dive center “ i managed to get my diving certificate with them” .. the clean man was professional and reached a tiny details.. the shore is very clean and snorkeling/ diving was amazing .. the manager of the hotel was very nice gentlemen ..

because i like to sleep in dark rooms i recommend to add more black out shades to the windows..

I loved the commitment to sustainability at this property, and the ease of access from Male. The reef was second to none, a couple of meters off the beach, so easy to access and so beautiful. It was fantastic to have the 2 islands (sister island Banyan tree) to travel between, we visited and dined at both, the Japanese restaurant at Banyan was incredible, but we preferred Dhawa for other food. Fabulous catering for vegetarians, and lovely staff making a personalised stay very special.

There was nothing to dislike it was wonderful, but couple of improvements- the decor was not as nice as Banyan Tree, some simple improvements could transform the resort including a change of colour scheme. If Dhawa looked like Banyan it would be out of this world amazing. Either way we loved it a lot. Through no fault of Dhawa, sometimes plastic bottles wash up from neighbouring islands, so we did a daily litter pick which we were more than happy to do.

This was our first time in Maldives and Dhawa Ihuru was the great choice. The location of the island is excellent, only 20-25 minutes ride from Male airport with speedboat which is tolerable even in the windy weather and rough sea as it was the evening when we came. Check in was super quick and we were led to the restaurant before it closes. Overall the food was very good during our stay with plenty of choices for each meal. There are hot dishes in addition to the egg/waffle station for breakfast. Buffet for lunch has a lot of choices, as well as grill station. Dinner is buffet or a la carte, all good. Plenty of local super fresh fish and fruits. The food is tasty in a home/your mom’s food style, not Michelin type restaurant. The same feeling of home extends to all hotel, the staff is very friendly and willing to talk to you if you feel like it, and genuinely interested if you are happy with the food, how do you like the island etc. All of them are really nice but special star goes to Liusha, thank you! One evening there was session of local traditional music performed by hotel staff, the event finished with a lot of guests showing their dancing skills :), it was fun! Villa was spacious with separate living area with table which was used for some work during our stay, wi fi is excellent. There is enough privacy between villas. The decision to come during off season when there are more cloudy/rainy days actually suited us as the sun is very strong and SPF is much required even in the cloudy weather. And still we were able to snorkel every day. The snorkeling was easy, there are marked channels to pass the reef and in 10 meters you can see the different types of fish, sharks, turtle etc. Big thanks to Nittu who led us on guided snorkeling tour around island with photo session, we now have some amazing videos and photos.

Nothing Just add a private pool to a couple of your villas and it will be perfect
