Sunset Homestay - Backpacker Hostel

Affordability and location. The place was able to accommodate our huge group of 30 people! We were out most of the day because of our event. It's a really nice place to descend to after a tiring day.

The fridge was a little stinky when we got there. But it subsided when we turned it on. A segment of our room was a little hot, so we had to borrow an electric fan for those who were sleeping there.

i received an uncomfortable bed. as the condition was not suitable for me and i cant sleep, the owner was kind and care about my concern. So he shifted me to other place and the new place was super comfortable. It just the toilet might required daily cleaning. Anyway i would rate 8/10 for the room and the customer service.

The toilet facilities

A place to stay if you just want a bed to sleep. About a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. Privacy curtains are nice. They let me rent the locker when I went to Baku NP for a day.

Not much of a hostel. When you enter the gate, there's two floor, each is a room with a lot of beds and a couple of bathrooms. There wasn't really a reception area. Communicated the whole time via WhatsApp.

The transportation is convenient you can take any bus nearby The location is nice and there is china town and mall nearby

They don't really take out the trash everyday or clean the toilet everyday Self check in is nice but the owner sometimes can,t see my messages

Really nice, clean hostel just off Kuching’s waterfront with a bus stop to Bako National Park just a 2 minute walk away. Check in and communication through whatsapp were seamless. Facilities are basic but was never left needing anything. Very quiet place (only 1 other guest when I was there) with good privacy provided by curtains and lockers for security.

Good location, but a bit hard to spot at first (need to go up some stairs). The staff was very helpful to keep my luggage during two days when I visited Bako

There were a lot of beds in one room and only two toilets. Luckily there were not many people there, but if it was full I would think there would be a lot of queing for the showers.

Quiet place, privacy curtains, very affordable, good location, tour and activity options listed on the walls, free drinking water, hot showers

Air con didn’t reach the beds, the price paid was always more than what booking . Com said. Could’ve done with soap by the sink and toilet roll being replaced regularly

Was given a corner area near the lockers which gave us some more privacy and like our own room. Standalone beds are squeaky but comfortable. Great location near to the waterfront

A little tricky at first to navigate to, perhaps some instructions as to the best way to get in would help

Amazing place and so so close (5min walk) to the entrance to the national park. Rooms are clean, cleaner than you own home. I'm serious!! The owner is born and bred in Borneo so let's all help sustain this gentleman's s life if not least a beautiful country.... Come and stay 2x nights you'll never forget it.

No wifi however if you walk 3kms (30mins) to the Marriott hotel they do have free WiFi.

At first, it's quite confusing to find the hostel location. After got all the instructions given I feel satisfied. But, locker placement seems like not suitable to locate at hidden spot.
