the square hotel Yokohama Minatomirai

The hotel was a big high-rise not far from Yokohama station and the room we booked had an incredible view of the Yokohama Cosmoworld ferris wheel (it was really cool at night when it lit up!). The hotel was within a walk-able distance to a lot of what we wanted to see, and nearby buses accommodated whatever wasn't close to us well enough. We didn't use any of the offered extras like the gym etc. but they did look nice from reception. The room was a grand little room and suited us just fine!

The bathroom had this weird window looking into the bedroom built into the wall which I was not a fan of. It had a blind you could loosely pull down to cover, but the edges were still exposed. We had booked a double room as it was all that was available, so maybe it was assumed we were a couple but we are not so it was a little uncomfortable. Also not sure what couples would enjoy that kind of view either.. just be aware if you intend to book! But besides that little oddity it was a perfect stay!

On par for 3-star hotel. Pros: I loved the amenities bar where you could chose what extras you needed which cuts down on waste. Nice staff Convenient check in and check out procedures Got upgraded to a room on a higher floor with a great view

-breakfast-lack of options and the need to be put on a waiting list in inconvenient and weird. -no phones in rooms is very odd and quite unsafe in case of emergencies -lack of entertainment options on in room tv -bathroom though clean is a bit out dated

we love the location and the views were perfect. value for money Our stay was comfortable, access to everything without breaking the bank.

Something needs to be done with their breakfast. Having the view and eating cold and not so interesting food doesn’t cut it. there was no cereal or egg stand. they only saved scrambled eggs that looked like they are swimming in water. breakfast is from 7-9 it’s nice to eat some warm food it’s too early to chock me with cold and dry food. I don’t recommend their breakfast at all

Good location; acceptable walking distance to nearby shopping and restaurant areas; free atmosphere, self serve practice is good and effective; amenities are sufficient and good quality; staff are very helpful, patient and polite - very good service. Room is clean, spacious with good harbour view. Bed is comfortable. Self serve laundry facility is very helpful to one just off from a cruise ship.

No phone in the room to contact front desk; has to take elevator to 20th floor for front desk assistance. No black tea at the 20th floor lobby coffee station; only coffee is provided.

The Square Hotel was swanky and extremely comfortable. It was clean and well located near Yokohama station and the bustling commercial neighborhood of Minatomirai and we were able to get into central Tokyo within an hour. The views from the room and reception/ restaurant (breakfast was good!) were fantastic and the staff were extremely helpful. Booked at the last minute it was extremely well priced too and we were very pleasantly surprised to learn that there were laundry facilities. Finally, the selection of complimentary personal care products was very healthy!

A very small remark on the room was the curtain for the window between the bedroom area and bathroom - it just kept getting soaked when we showered... Otherwise this hotel was perfect!

I am a frequent user of this hotel and it has always been a pleasant stay. As I use the hotel for work, my rooms have always been on the quiet side of the hotel which is a great consideration if working late nights. The rooms do not smell and the bed, linens, and towels are always fresh. The facilities and amenities are simple yet fulfilling. The staff have always been very polite and efficient during check-in.

This is not the issue of the hotel itself but the nearest train station is a bit of a walk and so are the restaurants. There is however a 24hr convenience store on the ground floor.

The location of this hotel is a bit far from Yokohama Station. It still requires about a 10 minute walk. But the service quality is very good! The level of staff is very good! The hygiene service in the guest room is also very good!

The thing that caused me the most headache was that the windows in the guest room could not be opened, so the interior of the guest room was not ventilated and I had to rely on using the air purifier inside the guest room to dehumidify the air. Even then the humidity inside the guest room only stays at about 70%.

The room is spacious for three adults. I luckily got a room facing the bay the view was really nice. The bath room is separated from toilet.

It takes me 10 mins to find the front desk… the hotel entrance goes to an elevator and the front desk is on the 20th floor. I didn’t look up the panel so I got out of the elevator thinking there must be another way to the front desk. I went to the other side of the building with my big luggage that’s not a good experience. Luckily I got help from a lady who lives nearby she guided me and told me the hotel front desk is on the 20th floor. My suggestion to the hotel is, if they can highlight on the elevator panel 20th button using a color tape or something like that, visitors will be able to find where the front desk is easier.

We were here for 5 nights, this was our third visit at this hotel. 17 minutes from Yokohama station, but much of that is indoors. Well organized reception staff on the 20th. floor with good English. We were in a superior twin room on the 8th. floor, it was very quiet with a fabulous ocean and Ferris wheel view. 7/11 store is on the ground floor, great restaurants as well. Great super market one block away on the second floor of OK building. Wonderful location for visiting Yokohama waterfront area. This place is a bargain for what it costs and no hint of smoking smell, with a good coin laundry as well.

Nothing, we will be back!

The view from our window was amazing - it's facing the waterfront, and we could see the ferris wheel at Cosmo World. It's a 15-minute walk from/to Yokohama station (via Nissan building and Hamamirai Walk bridge. The room and bathroom are spacious, equipped with one double, two chairs and a small table. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and seamless. OK supermarket is just next door.

The internet connection was unfortunately super slow. The TV doesn't have any new apps such as Netflix, YouTube etc. The pillows were hard.
