Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Hakodate Ekimae Asaichi

Less than 5min walk from JR train station. Also near the tram stop. There's a Lawson next door and a simple and good seafood restaurant beside Lawson. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The room was old style, but clean and comfortable. The aircon can be controlled precisely to your preference, there's a cute stainless steel kettle in the room that boils and cools water quickly. Breakfast is free and there are Japanese and Western options. The bed is firm, but I slept well. There is a large window to let in sunlight. Amenities like toothbrush, pyjamas, face wash, moisturiser, etc are provided in the hotel lobby.

There was no YouTube on the TV, but it's not a big deal. I would have liked a trash bin in the bathroom too.

location is perfect, room enough for us, breakfast is amazing, home cooked meal, very satisfying for free breakfast at hotel, we will back again if visit hakodate in the future

Great location. Next to the morning market. Not far from JR station. Can walk to the Akarenga and Hakodate Ropeway. Very friendly staffs with service mind.

Can hear noise from other guests outside. Very little choice of breakfast, but eating at morning market is my objective so it was all good.

relatively easy to reach the hotel from JR station, about 100-200m. lucky for us, on the day we arrive the hotel had “free curry night”, it was lovely.

as with most Japanese hotels, size of the rooms are relatively small and had trouble opening 2 28inch luggages. bathroom is really small too. we were ok since it was only for a short stay.

The location is superb, just a block away from the station. My room had a good view of the harvor and the station. The area is quiet altho just next to the morning market. The buffet breakfast was also good. It was my 2nd time staying at this chain of hotel, but first time in Japan. Good value for money!

you have all you need on a more competitive price. Location is strategic to train station. Buffet breakfast was delicious. There was also a free curry night Tues Wed and Thurs. (might be a good timing during my stay) everything was perfect even if snow and wind is wrecking havoc outside 😂

Excellent location a few minutes walk from Hakodate station. My room was a double room but even as one person it felt tight but for just me it was enough.

Breakfast is nice but if you don't like Japanese style breakfast you might prefer to skip it. Everything else is good enough for this price.

Location is super close to the station without having to hear trains. If you want to do the morning market it's right next door. Beds a comfortable, showers are hot and towels are changes daily. Breakfast rotates so there is always something new to have and it's hot and good.
