Casa Sant'Andrea is one of Venice's hidden gems. From the moment you cross the threshold, you are greeted by the historic charm and understated elegance of this magnificent former monastery. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering an oasis of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Every morning breakfast is a delight, with a variety of choices to suit all tastes. Proximity to Piazzale Roma and the Venice-Santa Lucia train station is an undeniable advantage, making getting around the city incredibly convenient. The staff are always helpful and welcoming, adding a personal touch that really makes a difference. Casa Sant'Andrea is not just a place to stay, it is an authentic experience of Venetian hospitality.

Casa Sant'Andrea was a good place for accomodation, within walking distance from Venezia Santa Lucia. The rooms sizes were standard and was quite peaceful at night to allow a good night's rest. The facilities are a bit older now, so the elevators were pretty slow but did the job. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Despite having to leave the keys when you leave the accomodation, we didn't experience any hassle to retrieve it upon return. We booked a twin room with share bathroom so was prepared for this. Be aware, the single shower + toilet was shared between 2 rooms. We thought the location was great as a base to visit all the sites in Venice

Unfortunately despite closing all the windows, insects were somehow getting into the room. We killed a few but unfortunately my wife was still stung by a mosquito. Another issue we noticed was, the shared bathroom sign stated the share bathroom would be cleaned every morning, but we noticed ours were not, as the same rubbish was still present.

The location of the hotel is very convenient (close to train station and bus terminal from and to Airports). It offers very decent facilities in historical building. The fact that I got a room with a private bathroom and WC is very convinient and feels more comfortable. The staff is friendly and the front desk is always manned; this makes it very convenient for people either checking-in late or checking-out early. Breakfast is served every morning and is varied and plentiful.

It is not the most comfortable hotel room in the city; the bed was a bit hard and there is no comforter, only blanket. However, I must say that the rooms and common areas were spotless. There is also no TV in the room, but it might not be essential when visiting a city like Venice.

Location fine and the breakfast quite good except ~I must say that fresh fruit salad as opposed to tinned would have been an improvement. The hot watwer for making tea was very hot and that was good. Perhaps a couple of teapots so that two or three cups could be drunk without needing to repeat the exercise of making it. Excellent service from the front desk. Problems sorted straight away and a friendly approach to sorting of problems.

I have mentioned some things above but overall for the money and the service the hotel is fine indeed. The breakfast room was kept clean and supplied with condiments throughout.

Very spacious room. Hotel is near several boat stops, and is close to the train station, so you dont have to navigate narrow alleys around the city with your luggage. On the last day, you can keep your luggage at the reception for the rest of the day even after check out.

There is, by their own admitance on the signs, a "very slow elevator", where you have to hold down the buttons the whole time for it to move. If stairs are a problem for you (even though there are only two floors), this wont be a good hotel for you.

My room was actually very good with all facilities and the bed was very comfortable too. The bathroom was big and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was a cold buffet style and was very good. Cleanliness in this hotel is exceptional and its location is excellent too as it is only a short distance from the bus station in Venice. There is also a water bus stop on the canal which the hotel overlooks, the canal of Santa Chiara. Hotel staff were friendly and willing to help if required.

There was nothing I disliked.

A highly convenient location, just a few steps away from Piazzale Roma. Numerous Vaporetto boats and buses make stops here, and the Saint Lucia train station is located just across the bridge. If you need any essentials like cosmetics or snacks, a supermarket is right around the corner. Rest assured, despite its central positioning, the atmosphere inside Casa Sant'Andrea remains relaxed and tranquil. The breakfast spread is delightful, featuring pastries, buns, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, and notably, they offer soy milk which I found pleasing. The entire staff is truly exceptional, helpful, and friendly.

The Wi-Fi signal in my room wasn't very strong, which resulted in a rather slow internet connection.

Breakfast was continental. Rolls a bit tough for Scottish teeth, but croissants were lovely. The coffee/ tea machine worked fast and efficiently. There were always boiled eggs and cheese and ham if you wanted savoury but also plenty jam, honey and yoghourt. We sat a while and savoured it.

The lift was slow, old and very temperamental. We thought Health and Safety in GB would have banned it. As we were up 4 flights of stairs, it was a pain. However, the hotel was once a friary, so it was historical and preserved the ancient beams and atmosphere.

Excellent breakfast they had croissants, sweet treats, juices, water, coffee, meat, cheese, bread, fruits. Rooms are clean bed is soft and comfortable. Nearby church bells ring only during the day. We had an early departure and the manager got us 6 breakfast bags to go. Definitely recommended location.

For the elevator you have to hold the button and is very slow. It’s well maintained clean and it works it carried 3, 50 pound suitcases to the second floor. If you are fit, active and can climb steps you should not have any issues here with a 2nd floor room.

It helped to be just by the bus station for our convenience but at the front door you wouldn't know it. quiet with a waterway right next to you and very few people. A big old building next to a lovely church. The building had been modernised enough to make it usable but retaining a lot of "old world" charm. That feeling of airiness dampens a little if you are expecting a huge suite waiting but the room was big enough for our needs and the bathroom big if a little basic. Even the lift to the second floor was an adventure but best to allow plenty of time as speed is not its forte but the stairs are there if you want speed - and who wants speed if you've gone to Venice. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful serve-yourself in a nice enough cafeteria style setting. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and attentive. A very useful lobby machine provided bottled water and the like at proper prices. Luggage could be left in a locked storage.

The phrase "what's not to like" sprang straight to mind but perhaps a toilet lid/seat that would stay up on its own would have made life easier.
