Hotel Villa Carlotta

Beautiful property , great location , clean room great view. Very nice breakfast.

Our room was located under restaurant . Constant water running during day and night, noises (banging dishes etc.) till midnight were irritating. Pool was closed at 7pm (!) For 700$ per night we were expecting more enjoyable pool hours . Most of hotels close their pools around 10pm. Also AC in the room would not get cooler than temperature it was already set by hotel staff.

Unassuming on the outside the hotel is built into the side of the hill with stunning sea views. The rooftop restaurant was jaw dropping, the pool cool and uncrowded and the staff genuinely welcoming. We were sailing around Sicily so one night ashore was a touch of luxury with a fantastically comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom and dinner in the evening was five star.

Nothing, couldn’t fault it. Best way to get to the hotel from the shore was by taxi which was very expensive but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. We found the cost of everything in Taormina to be inflated.

good location towards the city; while 70ies style, well renovated with latest appliances; free mini bar, coffee machine etc added to the overall “being looked after” feel, markedly different from many rip off hotels in Taormina; cute balcony with awesome views; good restaurant with even better 360 views; excellent staff, competent, helpful, good English and very nice.

the overall style was that of the entire city of Taormina- outdated 70ies Italian kitsch. however, as the hotel had definitely done a good job renovating and modernizing, that turned into a real attraction. overall, still very expensive for what it was, however after staying in some other places in the city it was relatively good value for money

The Teatro Greco Historic House is a truly exceptional property - I only say that I would not recommend it for a romantic stay as it is simply vast and would be overkill for a couple. Although the photos on the website and on booking.com are good, they don't quite convey the scale. It is beautifully laid out, with everything we needed and lots more. Beds and furniture are comfortable. Cleaning service was superb. There is excellent outside space, and plenty of room inside and out for a party that want to spend time together or to find their own space. All Hotel Villa Carlotta staff we met were very keen to assist wherever it was possible, nothing was too much trouble.

Can't fault it

As if you are entering a beautifully written fairytale of emotional enchantment! The location is on point… beach , mountain, city center, are simply a short promenade within a charming landscape. The design of the hotel is a collection of vivid colorful postcards… that of a retro nostalgia waltzing with a modern lifestyle… I m an interior architect after all :) The service is impeccable, reflecting old school luxurious hospitality within a contemporary approach. If you ever got the chance to meet the owners especially Mrs.Rosalia, you will get to know the beautiful spirit that drives this kind of hospitality concepts.

We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Carlotta. We stayed in The Love Nest which is one of their apartments. The apartment was beautifully decorated, every little detail was thought of and the view from the balcony of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna was unsurpassed. The location of the apartment was within walking distance of the city centre which offered a lovely walking street and many back streets to explore. Additionally, there was a beautiful garden on the walk into town offering both beauty and a sense of calm. We highly recommend this accommodation. With a life time of travel behind us this is one of the top ten places we have stayed.

Location was perfect in a quiet area looking over the sea but still close to all main streets where everything is happening. We enjoyed good breakfast, comfortable room, kind staff and luxurious interior of the hotel. We liked our stay so much that we booked our next hotel with their sister branch in Noto (Noto 82). Highly recommended!

Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Location is convenient, many restaurants within walking distance. Amazing breakfast with a wide range of cheese, cold cuts, pastries (fresh cannoli), fresh orange juice, fruits and cereals, with the best 270 degrees view of the Ocean and the summit of Etna. Apartment was spacious, equipped with a large fridge, induction stove, microwave, coffee machines, washing machine/dryer so can be self-sustainable if you are traveling with smaller children. Shower/bath area is also quite big, and we loved the piping hot water on chilly evenings. Valet parking is at an extra cost but the staff retrieved our car very quickly.

We stayed in apartment complex. It wasn't clear from the reservation that breakfast was NOT included for apartment bookings and was charged at Euro 20 per pax. Soundproofing was not good so our sleep was frequently disturbed by very noisy children upstairs (and when they ran up/down the common stairs). View from the unit (on Level 1) was blocked except for a sliver of the ocean. Hotel ground is quite small and the pool area, gym, reception are all very tight in space.

Location great - easy and interesting walk into town for great shops and restaurants and easy walk to the funicular to beach. Hotel is beautiful and staff really helpful and friendly. We stayed in the villa apartment 4 and this was very spacious, beautifully furnished with a large terrace with a beautiful view of the sea

The pool area is lovely but the pool is on the small side and very chlorinated which was painful on the eyes. Our apartment was very dark.

Upon arrival we were surprised with a room upgrade which was the nicest gesture. The staff was super friendly and polite. They also helped getting our luggage up to the room accompanied with a small tour of the hotel, which is not so common anymore - very much appreciated. The best thing about the hotel has to be the view, just amazing.

These are just a few minor things because we very much liked the hotel: * no free bottle of water/coffee/tea in the room * no service at the pool * shower with very low water pressure, but there was a handhold shower head which worked perfectly
