Hotel San Giovanni Resort

The location is great, and the hotel has lots of character The room was comfortable, although the portable air conditioner was not really capable of dealing with the exceptionally hot weather (European heatwave). The service was excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is outstanding.

Sadly, the hotel's own restaurant was closed. However, we were recommended a nearby restaurant which was excellent. The in-room safe is too small for even a normal-sized tablet computer.

Terrific location, both in terms of the quaint medical town, the location inside the old town, as well as the building itself. Terrific. Everything is clean, everything is working, all very good

When I arrived, it started with a quarrel as there was no parking available at the property (in the courtyard) but I could park on the street. After a manager got involved, it became clear the receptionist could simply move her car which was parked in the guest spaces and I could park in the courtyard. So the argument was completely needless.

Everything was perfect! The location, the building so curated and clean felt like traveling back to the antique Saluzzo (with a modern bathroom, extra points!). The breakfast was fantastic, the view from the room in the sunny morning and the access to the terrace was dreamy. Finally the staff also very nice, I'm definitely recommending and hoping to return!

The restaurant was closed for the season, I'd loved to taste some delicacies.

The description on booking was in accurate. I booked a junior suite for my friends as a surprise. It says there is a hot tub in the room and wine/champagne for guests. Neither was true which was very disappointing. My superior double room had no kettle but the other room did.

That the hotel was in an old nunnery and at the top of the old hilled town of Saluzzo, which os an incredible town to visit. It was a short and interesting walk to find restaurants and the whole town was amazing.

The bedroom doorhandles gave trouble as we checked in, though luckily this was sorted out by the incredible staff on duty.

Very difficult to find. You can't use GPS or you'll end up stuck in a tight alley. their directions are the only way but didn't translate to English smoothly, so it took a few tries. And it was really hot. there was an air conditioner but it didn't work. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Alberto and his colleagues provided a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning. Alberto gave us very useful tips for our trips to Turin and Alba! A great stay we zoals certainly recommend! Getting to the resort was super easy based on the instructions and video that were provided upon booking.

The hotel is a beautifully restored convent in the charming town of Saluzzo. The restoration has retained the serenity of the space while providing modern comforts. The rooms are lovely with good beds, large bathrooms, excellent linens, and simple but classy decor. The public rooms are lovely as well with original frescoes and interesting furnishings. An incredible church is attached which was certainly a highlight of our stay. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh pastries, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, and hot drinks. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant but had two great meals in the town. And finally the service was exceptional. A charming man, sorry I can’t recall his name, checked us in, served breakfast, printed documents for us, made dinner reservations and entertained us with his wit. We had a wonderful time.

We liked everything but be aware that the hotel is at the top of the old town so requires a steep climb down to the restaurants and shops and back up. Also finding the hotel is challenging. Try to avoid the old town and head to the castle.

Great staff, and located in the center of the old town of Saluzzo. Beautiful monastery courtyard. Very good breakfast.

Shower plate was a bit small, and the terraces in the rooms were not in prime conditions (old furniture, weeds growing here and there). But none of these were a real problem.

The télévision blaring news in Italian 24 hrs a day in the lobby of this “sanctuary” of a hotel is a bit of a shame. There are no tvs in the rooms and if they must have one in lobby, put on the weather with classical music in the background 😊
