Hotel San Silvestro

This is a very good, very well located hotel, within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon in one direction and the Spanish Steps in the other direction. The room was very clean and comfortable. It has a small bar fridge and a desk to sit and work at when required. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and even gave recommendations to some excellent little restaurants.

In Italy is seems to be common that a double bed is made up of 2 single beds pushed together, so you should check if this might be a problem for you.

The first thing I want to mention is a perfect location. Because of that, I was able to visit many top sights during my very short stay and I did it all by walking. Not only famous landmarks, but also many nice shops are around. The room is comfortable and I had a very good sleep. I felt good and safe during my stay. The receptionists were very kind and the breakfast personnel, too.

It is a small hotel. It is very clean. They are very kind and helpful. The location is excellent. Only 3 mins away from the Trevi fountain and 10 min away from the Spanish steps.. Also close enough to the other attractions.. The shops are just around the corner. The breakfast is rich. Their coffee is delicious.

I stayed in a single room. The shower was extremely small. The breakfast was starting only at 7:30 am. They wanted to accommodate and offer me to have my breakfast at 7am. But due the excursions I had chosen I had to leave the hotel before 7am. When you are to join day trips outside Rome, the excursions start very early, it is most likely you'll miss the breakfast.

The hotel is very nice and clean. I loved the location! It is very close to many attractions in Rome. You can pretty much walk everywhere. The downside is that it can be pretty loud during the night due to traffic noise. I would suggest earplugs, especially if you like to sleep with an open window. Breakfast is nice, however, keep in mind that Italians usually are not into a huge breakfast. I can imagine that for some people it might be not enough of a selection (looking at us Germans). Very good coffee though! The very exceptional thing about this hotel is the staff. I’ve never felt so welcomed before in a hotel. All of the employees are beyond friendly, always happy to help, very polite, always up for a little chat. I highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent breakfast( cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, yogurt, breads, pastries, fruit, a selection of teas and coffees plus espresso made fresh on site.; helpful and professional staff( booked us transfer to and from airport, good to do considering it is hard to roll a suitcase on cobblestone streets, answered all of our questions); fantastic location( walking distance to all attractions, including Vatican) in the heart of old Rome. No noise from street. Clean and nice decor. Overall a great spot to stay and would highly recommended

Beds a bit on the small side if you are tall but clean and new. A bit of noise from hallway but not a big issue.

Great location very near to main attractions, walking distance from trevi fountain, Spanish stairs, clean room, good breakfast, friendly staff on reception and on the kitchen. I have arrived at early morning due to my flight delays, so their doors were locked, I ring the bell but staff didn’t hear the call, so I asked at street one lady to help me to call the number which they put outside, only after I entered to the hotel, it was little inconvenient because I waited outside almost 15 minutes. But I understand that it’s not their fault either as I mentioned before that I will arrive at 3am night, not 5:40am morning. But in general everything was nice, thanks for allowing to keep luggage after the check-out time.

The staff were wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. The were always happy to answer questions (even prior to the stay), organise transport and give recommendations. Huge thank you to Roberto, Marco and Mohammed! The location was ideal, all the main sights were easily walkable and there were plenty of lovely restaurant options nearby. The rooms were simple but perfectly sufficient, and kept very fresh and clean. The breakfast was varied and had a good number of vegetarian options.

Minor issue but the wall mounted tv was a real injury risk, it narrowed the area in front of the bed considerably.

The location was absolutely perfect for walking to all of the major sites within Rome, but also within walking distance to Vatican City. The area was convenient and safe, which was important to me since I was traveling alone. Also, Roberto & Marco were so attentive and helpful! I could not have asked for more in the way of helpful staff & management. Plus, the common areas and room were extremely clean, which was very important!

Everything was wonderful, but the room was smaller than I am used to in a hotel room. That says, it was clean and in the perfect location. I was out exploring all day, so there was no need for a huge room. It was perfect for my needs.

Location, location, location! This place is amazing to get to all the sites and you are also right in the shopping district, which is great if you love to shop! About 10 mins from the Spanish steps! Our stay was great, the staff are super sweet and since it was our wedding anniversary trip, they even left a bottle of champagne and glasses in our room when we arrived. Such a nice touch! So glad we stayed there, it was great!

Room size was a little small, but it's to be expected for the location we were in. It was still great.

The staff were very friendly they went out of there way to help, the receptionist were great if you had a guestion they took the time to answer your guestion. The hotel was very clean, the location was great everything was within walking distance and if you didn't want to walk the San Silvestro plaza was a minute away to catch a taxi or to just sit and relax on the bench
