Casale La Sterpaia

The location is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. We love the doors opening to the horse field and being in the forest. The accommodations were comfortable and rustic. The hotel's breakfast service (separate from the restaurant) had many options and was really yummy.

The room had no air conditioning or screens on the doors, so when we opened the doors to get some relief from the heat, we then had to deal with many flies, gnats, and mosquitos which disrupted sleep and overall enjoyment. The restaurant was slow in dinner service and the food was bland and unimaginative, avoid if you can; there are many better options in nearby Pisa.

Nice hotel in the middle of a forest. You’ll love it if you like nature. However there’s no mobile phone signal, although the Wi-Fi signal was very good in the room. The room was very clean, and breakfast was adequate (typical Italian, fresh coffee and croissants and jam). No outside noise. The kids had a bunk bed in a separate area to us in the room, with a door in the middle, which was perfect. I would recommend the hotel if you want somewhere cheap and you have a car.

Amazing place and location for animal especially horse lovers so close to Pisa. Amazing "natural" beach without the crowds in the midde of holiday season. The nature reserve was amazing, my children absolutely loved the forest, exploring, seeing deer close up and the small wild pigs (my son is 15 and normally hard to get away from any screen)!. Able to hire bikes/e-bikes to get around. Staff were helpful. Please note it is not a luxury hotel, but a lovely place to get close to nature, for me a special gem to get away from it all!

It is a historical and interesting place located in a big park. We reached the hotel at night and we can see the stars clearly. We also see two gazelles. In the morning we see many horses. I advice this hotel if you are bored of regular hotels.

As it is an old building walking at night makes noise on the floor. The ventilators were not enough to make the room cool. Breakfast had limited options.

I was there with my wife and my kids and felt very welcomed by the hotel staff and manager Giuliano who gave us many useful tips regarding our trip to the city. Rooms are nice and clean and they are in a beautiful historical graded building in the middle of the San Rossore park. The ideal place for anyone looking for a lovely escape to nature near the lovely city of Pisa.

Bar &restaurant closes too soon. Nobody at the reception from 7 pm. No mosquito nets in the room, and there are lots...

if you looking for the place where you can touch the nature, this hotel is the right place, it’s magical, but if you want something modern, cosy and 21-st century better think again!

beautiful stay on a National park. clean tidy rooms, breakfast included and only about a 15 minute drive to the tower of Pisa. we saw lots of deer and a family of hogs!

There should be more information about how to rent a horse transfer to the beach and horse riding price and opening hours.

I really like the possibility of rent a bike, exploring the park and looking some animals like fawns, horses, boars and foxes. The location was fantastic, it is surrounded by greenery.
