Hotel Grotto Bagat

The view is worth every penny and I would say the price is anyways very affordable. The food at the Ristorante is exquisite (especially the pizze, since they are a pizzeria in the first place), the lunch menu is extremely recommendable, as it provides you with so many delicious dishes included in the already very low price. The closest supermarket is in Lavena Ponte Tresa and can be reached either by bus (there is a bus stop exactly in front of the hotel) or just by foot, since it's just about 2.5 km which can be walked in 30'. It's super close to Switzerland, there's even Swiss network still available...

When going back to Ponte Tresa (carrying luggage) we wanted to take an Uber but we couldn't get any, so we asked for them to call us a taxi or just the number of a taxi service. We didn't get any details of a specific taxi company, we got the phone number of a guy who apparently offered his unofficial services for transit by car. He was very kind and reliable, he brought us to our destination so no critique in this regard, but it would surely be of help to keep his number at the reception so as to inform the guests of this possibility (if not to also get the details of some taxi companies). As I said however, this is not a critique, it's just a suggestion. We had nothing to complain about :)

The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The parking lot was spacious and easy to use, and the view of the lake in front of me was very nice. The dinner was excellent, and the breakfast menu was excellent, and I had a comfortable time.

I heard that the eggs served at breakfast were boiled eggs, but I was disappointed because they were raw eggs.

the location was really great as it is near the lake. too bad our room did not have the view :( the staff, esp the lady in the reception, was really friendly and hospitable. we ordered food from the restaurant and they delivered it to our room. i had the seafood pasta which was really delicious- fresh homemade pasta with generous amount of seafood! we stayed in 5 different hotels during this whole trip & this wasthe best value for money among all.

we didn’t had the view from our room + we had to pay €5 for the baby cot (free in other hotels)

The Hotel Grotto Bagat is a very, very pleasant place with an extremely beautiful view over the lake and into the mountains. The Grotto offers also a huge terrasse to hang out, enjoy and relax. Just Gorgeous! We went there with our dog (Nia). The whole hotel crew was always focused to making us happy - this includes our dog. We could always feel and enjoy all the pleasure and passion of the crew doing it! We enjoyed our stay big time. The Hotel Grotto Bagat is really a great place. We can only recommend it to everyone! The view was outstanding. The place has a very generous parking. Breakfast was satisfying.

One of the rooms faced away from the lake. It practically had no windows apart from one in the bathroom. The location is a bit challenging if you need to buy something, no groceries close enough. There is no access to the lake from the hotel, and there is a road between the hotel and the waterline.

Everything was perfect - the beautiful hotel, cosy accommodation, rich breakfast, pleasant lake location with mountain view and very kind staff in the hotel. Very nice hotel in Lavena Ponte Tresa. Furthermore the hotel has its own restaurant with amazing food.

Very spacious and comfortable room, considering the price. Rich breakfast in the morning. The restaurant has a good menu that varies from sea plates to pizza, very nice presentations and a considerable quality even if not all the things we ate were as excellent as expected, considering the price.

Price/quality is very good for the room and breakfast, a little less positive for the restaurant but generally speaking is a recommended location!

The hotel is well located to look around the region. Staff is very friendly and especially Ilaria takes her time to provide excellent service even she is very busy. For the money it's a great choice.

The AC did not really work but Ilaria from the Reception organised a fan for us which really helped alot.

The situation of the hotel is quite pittoresque, and the room was surprisingly large (including the bathroom!) for our expectation. Most of all the personal was quite friendly and helpful. We dined at the restaurant and the food was presented nicely and tasted very good. Definitely want to come back if we travel again in the area

Road noise

Comfortable room with tiny fridge and clean bathroom/shower. Wonderful terrace with lake view. However, the lake is across the street, so you also see/hear motorbikes passing by. I think the restaurant worth noting separately, it is cozy and the breakfast included is very good. Especially, croissants: it is unbelievable, but you won’t find croissants better, even in France, it is a state of the culinary art. Considering the room price, the choice to stay for a day or two could not be better. Absolutely recommend.
