Hotel Relais Il Cestello

Great location. Great attention of the staff to my needs (I checked in quite late, at a time where there is no one anymore at the reception desk. However the staff made it possible through personal contact to a phone and WhatsApp that I could enter very easily), very clean (the cleaning was almost perfect. Why almost because they forgot to clean the black cups, that are made from MDF composite, which is anyway not good. I wanted to use one of those in the night of my check in but I found lipstick leftovers on one of them. But that’s really something that could happen anybody. So I used the normal Glas, and just drank water instead of tee).

Our stay in Hotel Relais Il Cestello was great. Valeria and her team was super nice and helpful. Good breakfast, quiet place, great location, easy to walk to the city beauties.

To enjoy the stay even more I would prefer the third extra bed in our room to be harder, this one was too soft.

Overall a very pleasant stay. Great location by the river, away from the tourist crowds but still in walking distance to the historic center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Valeria, who is managing the hotel, went out of her way to help me out with a medical need. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Nearby you have lots of restaurants and bars as well. I'd be happy to stay there again.

Nothing that I didn't like, but should mention that breakfast is a bit simple. That's normal because it's a small place and they don't have a proper kitchen to prepare lots of things. It was no problem for me.

Amazing location away from the chaos, but super close walk to everything. SUPER friendly staff that truly went above and beyond. We had to check in late at night and they were very accommodating, offered coffee every morning, helped us call a cab, and just generally very safe and sweet energy. Room was bigger than expected and cleaned well everyday. Couldn't recommend more!

Would be nice to have self service tea or coffee in rooms or in lobby, but not a huge bother.

If you’re traveling to Florence for business or leisure, this is the place to stay. It’s super central, a short walk from most of the main tourist attractions, but still in a very quiet and secluded part of Borgo San Lorenzo (which means you’ll sleep like a baby!). The staff went above and beyond to help me during my stay, and everything went smoothly. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

I only stayed one night and it was my greatest experience in Italy in terms of accommodation. Great localization, right across the river, short walk from many landmarks, room was very clean, and most importantly the staff was friendly and welcoming - particularly Eduina, who was not only very helpful in anything related to the hotel, but also advised me on the next parts of my trip after Florence.

I don’t think I’ve stayed in a place where the staff were so helpful. Stella on reception went above and beyond to help. she even moved her car so we could park in her spot. She went out of her way to find information about tourist stuff I was asking about. The hotel is set in a less tourist location, with loads of lovely bars and restaurants just behind with all the lovely locals. I highly recommend this location. The rooms are clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed.

Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but it’s like that in Florence.

15 minute walking distance to station. Walkable to all attractions. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean and daily cleaning provided. Nice breakfast.

Room was not soundproof. I can clearly hear next door guest snoring. It had many stairs make it difficult to Cary your heavy bag.

Whenever I return to Firenze I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Relais Il Cestello is fabulous, comfy, and super well located. Valeria, our host, was super gentle and amazing! So helpful in every possible way! Relais Il Cestello is close to the best bars and restaurants in the city and perfectly distant from the tourist mess (but you can get there within 5 min walk if that's your thing). In 3 weeks of traveling in Italy, this is my highlight <3

everything was perfect. nothing to dislike here!

Great location within walking distance of the main train station. There was a full bath tub in the room. Very quite piazza. Weekday breakfast is offered at cafe nearby. Bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a room for three -- parents plus one teen kid.
