A wonderfully relaxing start to our holiday. Bergamo airport is so easy to transit and the owner of the hotel,Mario,met us at Arrivals and took us to La Valetta directly in a very comfortable people carrier for 30 euro. Great value and stress free, particularly if you have heavy luggage. The hotel is a lovely villa overlooking a valley and a five minute drive to the old town. There are three scheduled free return journeys into town each day or you can pay 5 euro and go into town at a time of your choosing. We had a standard room which is small but very comfortable and has a well appointed bathroom. Both the bedroom and bathroom had large windows with lovely views across and down the valley. The breakfasts were excellent. A wide selection of continental breakfast items and limitless hot coffee. The bacon and egg is not in the English style , just so you know. We had breakfast on the terrace both mornings and took our time. We spent our afternoons in the old town where we ate and sat out on the terrace each evening with a lovely bottle of Valpollicella Ripasso at a very reasonable price. The trattoria nearby is not open on Monday and Tuesday evenings so factor that in. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the nightlife of Bergamo, then this hotel is probably not ideal. But if you are looking for a relaxing break with the most helpful of hosts, then this is the place for you. We look forward to returning soon, PG!

Absolutely everything! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with wonderful smiles. Our room was clean and comfortable. The views are beautiful. Breakfast was very good. Mario, Graciella and Jacomo were wonderful hosts. Recommendations to sights and activities were great! We visited places and experienced Bergamo and the surroundings we never thought was there. We would certainly recommend La Valletta Relais to any travellers visiting the area. Oh, the location is great! 3 minutes to the Cita Alte (Old City) is worth the visit. Very historic and well preserved. Cable cars going up from the Cita Alta to the castle and another leading down to the new city of Bergamo. Go!

Everything was lovely- breakfast/lots of choice and good quality, location/ in the hills overlooking Bergamo, beautiful. room/ clean comfortable, with spectacular view-cannot fault anything. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful when we asked advice. We used their shuttle service on a couple of occassions which was great! Don't follow the satnav out of the airport, put in- "Viale delle Mura", then the hotel address, otherwise the approach can be very narrow roads, hair-raising coming from the East (we did it once!)

The hotel is absolutely charming and Mario and his wife and son are lovely peoplke who do their best to make your stay a pleasant one . The situation of the hotel is quiet and a short walk into Bergamo which is a little jewel of a city . The shuttle bus that is offered is really useful at times but the walk is pleasant and not too long . Mario picked us up and took us back to the Airport . Breakfast was in a pleasant room and had everything you could want , including a cooked option of eggs etc. Unfortunately I was ill on this trip as I think I must have picked up a bug on the flight , so my enjoyment was marred by this , but Mario and his family were very helpful and understanding. Mario also helped us book a very good guide for a visit to Bergamo Citti Alta who was very good and charming.

Everything , the deco the situation but moist of all the family running the hotel. Nice people.

We absolutely loved our stay at La Valletta Relais. The staff were extremely kind and friendly and made us feel so welcome. They recommended a fantastic restaurant in the area and even called to help us make a reservation. Our room was lovely, cozy, and clean. The breakfast provided each morning was fresh and tasty with plenty of variety. The location of the hotel is definitely doable for walking into citta alta and we enjoyed staying outside of the busy part of town. We look forward to staying here again!

It was a little bit expensive, but the service was fantastic.

The hotel was lovely and the surrounding area was great. We had a lovely drink or two on the terrace. So peaceful. Parking for the car was great too. Breakfast was wonderful but unfortunately we had to get away early in the morning for our flight. We will be back

It would have been great if there was an evening food option available in the evening rather than walking down to the centre again.

The view from the patio was stunning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice with freshly cooked eggs and bacon. Our room was large and quiet looking over the gardens

The entry to the parking area is very steep and at an angle to the road, best accessed from the old city side. The roads are very narrow and unfortunately we scratched the car

This family run hotel is in an idyllic setting, with views of the valley below and the Appennine mountains. Mario and his family were the perfect hosts. We were able to make the most of our short stay as Mario was able to offer a shuttle service to the Citta Alta only 5 minutes away. The old town is breath-taking, not to be missed. Mario also provided transport to and from Orlo Al Serio airport. The buffet breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and a cooked breakfast of your choice was also on offer. Breakfast was served in a room surrounded by large windows overlooking the scenic valley below. Our room was spacious, quiet, and also had views over the valley. Overall, this was the perfect stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning.

Staff was really very helpful and polite. The location of the property is very good and is magnificent. It was very peaceful there and has some great restaurants nearby. Just one thing that the checkout timings were not flexible. And I understand that as it's not a very big property.

Fantasic hotel to visit the Citta Alta of Bergamo. Very conveniently located, in a beautiful and relaxing surrounding. It feels like you're miles away from the city, but it is a 10-minute walk to get to the main entrance. There is also a beautiful detour through the forest to reach the top of the old city (which is on a hill).

Some light snacks in the evening might have been pleasant.
