Albergo San Lorenzo

On the piazza del duomo with free secure parking. Easy enough to drive to. Our room had a balcony onto the square which was lovely and buzzy. Spotlessly clean. Towels and toilleteries. Restaurants and shops on the door stop. Its a two star so basic but as two stars go it was exceptional. Alba is a lovely place for a shop and restaurants and aperitivos. We didn't get as far as any of the sites, just soaked up the atmosphere and the wine. People on here have been complaining about breakfast - but yes agreed its basic but we had fresh fruit, delicious coffee (proper machine), croissants and bread so we thought it was great.

If you want to sleep somewhere quiet and go to bed early, not for you. But from midnight the square quiets down and with the door shut you can't hear much anyway. And it stayed quiet till 8am or so too. There was an aircon unit in the room but no control so probably you were supposed to pay on top but we didn't notice till after reception was closed. Still it was a big airy room so not too bad without.

A best convenient location at the city center and have a free private parking on site! With a car sat Navi, you can easily find the way there. Private parking is included. You may find that many says parking is available but they are often public parking that you can park only if a lot is vacant and you need to pay for it. If you visit places in and out of Alba, finding a car parking and have right clings etc can be a bit of pain. There are cafes, restaurants, bars, gelateria and shopping within zero to five min walking. It is also clean and tidy. Staff are friendly.

I have two wishes. I stayed in the room 10. 1. Having a fan in the room during hot/warm seasons, and 2. an easier way to get access to Internet WiFi. We are here in July and warm. The room can get very warm. I don’t expect air condition in the room and many small places don’t have one in Europe. But I wish we had a fan in the room that would have made my stay lots more comfortable. The WiFi is there but i need to do an online registration first by providing my phone number, name and email address. which was all in Italian and took a bit of time. For me but it worked.

Great position right in the centre but with parking. Breakfast was excellent with real coffee, not from a machine. The restuarant under the hotel is to die for, absolutely delicious, thoroughly recommended. And the staff let me use their breakfast room the day after I checked out to connect to an online meeting.

Walls aren't soundproofed.

Location. Internal courtyard parking. Friendliness of staff. Large bathroom. Lots of hanging and drawer space.

Minimum sized shower. No desk in room. All TV channels in Italian. No other languages.

Great location, safe secured parking with lovely restaurant attached. While the rating of ** gives one low expectations, this stay was exceptionally pleasant in the old town with the famous white truffle experience

Heat was not on but the staff hastened to correct.

Easy walk from the train, very helpful and friendly staff, simple and straightforward accommodations. Perfect for one night in Alba!

Room was a little warm, but not much you can do about the weather!

This is a simple but lovely family run hotel in a perfect location in a perfect location in small, little Alba. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is perfect for 2 or 3 nights discovering Alba and the surrounding area, especially during the truffle festival. Parking is right in front of the hotel and is secure although there are probably not enough spaces if the hotel is full.

The walls between the rooms are quite this so if you have noisy neighbours this may be a problem? Also we only had one pillow each. I'm sure we could have asked for another one so this is just a remark.

The hotel is placed right in the center of the very beautiful city. You are close to everything. The rooms are nice and very Italian. It was clean and the staff was helpful.
