GAIA Cosmo Hotel

We stayed at the family room, which was very convenient for us, family of 4 (2 teenagers) I love the layout and huge bathroom. It’s cleverly designed. Very modern. We love the toiletries and the bath salt was a great addition. Perfect for my daughter who loves bubble bath. The hotel location is great. Soto Kadipiro is just across the street 👍🏻 Price wise, it’s value for money.

Breakfast was included but the taste was just so so. So we only ate breakfast once and we went out for breakfast for the rest of our stay. The room was not very clean. When we first checked in, there were hairs on the floor (from the previous guest, so the cleaning wasn’t thorough) so it was kind of a let down but we are very tired and we just brush it off. The next day we can see the cleaning wasn’t spotless either. We hope this is something that can be improved because we really love the hotel besides these 2 things.

We first visited Gaia Cosmo Hotel in August 2022 and were so impressed that when booking a return visit to Yogyakarta, it was the only hotel we considered. So, for our second visit, we enjoyed a 3 week stay in January 2024 and would like to thank them all for such a wonderful stay. The room and facilities were clean and well maintained, the service from all the staff was efficient and friendly and the dining options were excellent. During the daily housekeeping they restocked our room with tea, coffee, water, and bathroom supplies without having to request them, and there was a system in place for requesting for the bedding or the towels to be changed. They also arranged a couple of very kind and thoughtful touches; due to our long stay they sent a complimentary fruit plate to our room and offered us a complimentary lunch or dinner - both of which were gratefully received. We became somewhat familiar faces in the hotel and everyone was friendly and attentive, while we were walking out at the end of our stay all the staff in sight smiled and said goodbye as we walked past, which was particularly touching and a great finish to our wonderful stay. We look forward to returning to Yogyakarta at some point and to our third stay at Gaia Cosmo!

I really enjoyed the room with a comfy spacious bed. We also had a balcony which was fantastic (especially if you're a smoker). The staff was beyond friendly and helpful, people were so kind and went out of their own way to help or even open the door. Airco everywhere! By the way, the food on the menu is amazing and you get big portions. Don't be shy to try! Also please visit the rooftop bar. It's criminally underrated with great cocktails.

The open bathroom is something that might take some time getting used to and the TV channels are quite boring for foreigners (most were Indonesian). Please note, the positives are immense compared to tiny negatives.

The location is strategic, the facilities also good. I also love their swimming pool, and also affordable. We stayed in family premium room with only 1.5 mil per night.

The way the clean daily room service, for me isn’t as good as hotel with the same level as Gaia Cosmo. They didn’t change the glass, but they did refill coffee and tea regularly. Day 1 they provide hand towel, then day 2 they didn’t change the hand towel as we requested. But on the third day, the hand towel was changed. I mean, is there a standard SOP to clean the room? In the bathtub, we found a little cockroach 😢

Fantastic hotel! Excellent service and staff. The day before I arrived at this hotel, I got an infection... 41-degree fever, and I felt extremely unwell. The staff was very helpful, brought food and water to our room, and even took us to a hospital for free, where one of the hotel employees stayed with us to bring us back. It's a shame I couldn't use all the facilities because I was so sick... but the hotel looks great and is very affordable. I definitely recommend this hotel, and I hope that if I'm in Yogyakarta again, I can stay here.

The room was for 4 people and there was only 2 of us, so we had lots of space and lots of towels, water, coffee and tea. We booked that room because we wanted as much space as possible. Breakfast didn't have the variety a Westerner would prefer but it was ok. As it is usually the case in Yogyakarta, the watermellon and papaya served among other fruit was top quality. The restaurant on the rooftop, offered spectacular views around the Town and served delicious steak, with french fries and a generous portion of Atlantic salmon. At least these are 2 of the dishes i tried.

The hotel keeps a strict policy of providing plastic gloves at breakfast so when you touch the tongs, you don't possibly spread covid-19. i found it annoying and unnecessary, because people were touching other surfaces without gloves.

It was beyond our expectations - the customers service extended by the hotel staffs especially Afiz & Tian from the Front Desk! Afiz went far extra assisting me with transportation bookings, etc. Room itself was very clean & comfortable. Food offered was excellent - breakfast choices & restaurant’s menu selections. Overall I would rate this property Excellent, thank you to the entire team!

The room is pretty new, decent and comfortable. Staff are nice and courteous. Breakfast is okay, typical hotel buffet spread, a good mix of asian and western options. Location is good too, about 15 mins ride to Malioboro.

Wrote email to them a few times, weeks before our arrival to enquire about their airport transfer service but received no reply.

The hotel was just wonderfully clean & nice also every corner it’s just aesthetically pleasing. The pool water has very clean, staff is friendly and room is comfortable. The restaurant ‘Semeja’ is this hotel is def my favourite. Definitely going back here when I visit Yogja, very recommended to stay in this hotel.

Shampoo & soap in the shower is very hard to push & use. There’s no spa / salon in this hotel.

Modern and comfortable hotel in Yogyakarta. Very friendly personnel - helpful and attentive! Truly tasty breakfast. The same applied to hotel restaurant - the food was delicious with very reasonable prices. I would gladly return in the future. Wi-Fi worked fine!

There is not much around hotel - at least we have not found any attractions like restaurants, etc.
