Black Penny Villas Ubud

Villa is very nice. Room is comfortable and spacious. Bed is big and cozy. View of the forrest is stunning. And included breakfast is amazing, very delicious, lots of food included. Stuff is polite.

Villa was not that private, room and terrace is private, same as in normal hotel but pool is visible from restaurant upstairs and there is a path next to our villa, where people where passing all day (it's path to go to rafting) and looking at us while we're in the pool, little weird. Didn't like that. And also very bad smell was coming from the drain from hall, and because it's open concept bathroom it was very smelly. Also minus because they provide only two towels (no hands or face towels).

the view is outstanding , breakfast is delicious and the staff is super friendly and very very helpful. booked a two night stay and i regret not staying more. special thanks to MILA , ANGUS , SRI and most improtantly the driver panya and the rest of the team for making this trip look amazing.

the towels needs to be cleaner. restaurant closes at 9pm

We stayed at one of the two Deluxe Pool Villas with River View the hotel has. Villa no. 10, precisely. The best one in the hotel with a wonderful infinity pool overlooking the beautiful river and the forest / jungle. Not obstructed views from anywhere in our Villa - all other rooms are at the back - and so much privacy. Villa has a great layout in a perfect beautiful Bali’s style. Very good variety of options for breakfast; we loved to have breakfast by our pool every morning, a complimentary service we didn’t expect. Staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Room and facilities were well cleaned and maintained.

Water of the pool was a bit cold. Laundry service was very expensive and some related fees we had to pay were not disclosed when we book the service. We stayed for a week in the most expensive room of the hotel for our honeymoon and used lots of “extra services”, it would have been a kind gesture if the hotel would have offered something such as honeymoon decoration or a glass of wine (other hotels where we stayed even just for 2 nights decorated the room specifically for our honeymoon although we hadn’t ask for it).

Views are amazing but that’s all about it. Location is ok, not to far from Center but taxi is needed to move around unless you want to walk an hour to go to city centre. Food is tasty.

Customer service for the price you pay is so so, if ordering room service bare in mind you gonna wait some time to get the food, one day we even got the food and it was cold. They charge extra every time they order a taxi for you, so better get the app of gojek and order yourself because sometimes the price was double if ordering from hotel. I am little disappointed because for the price you pay I was expecting little more to be honest.

-at first day we wanted to relax after long trip, but there was some problem with electricity. Staff tried to fix it in our room, so we were forced to wait even we simply wanted to sleep. -we were here at out honeymoon, it’s the one hotel that didn’t prepare even a small surprise. -staff trying to be very friendly and polite, but often it’s difficult to communicate in english

Amazing views from the room over the rainforest and rice fields. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, starting with the pick-up from the airport throughout our whole stay. Even when confronted with difficult guests, the staff raimained polite and friendly. We knew it was some stairs and a long way to the room as that was in the information before the booking. Would definitely recommend and will go back myself.

There's nothing I could fault.

The villas here are incredible. We stayed in villa 10 and the view was just breathtaking, even better than the pictures. Would definitely recommend booking a villa with river view! We had room service a couple of times and it was great. Breakfast was fantastic! So much food and it was all so tasty. One day we booked a massage and the therapists came to our room. The message was great and so cheap! The staff here are amazing. They really do make it such a special experience for you, always going over and above no matter what your request. Would definitely recommend everyone to book here if you’re staying in ubud! Thank you for such a special experience.

Wow! Black Penny was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Bali, and even better than the pictures show! We were met with a warm introduction, and had everything about the hotel clearly explained to us. We were then taken to our room where we were shown around; where the light switches are, amenities, and how to use the safe etc. It was sadly dark when we arrived, so we couldn't see much past our infinity pool until the morning. But when we woke up we were left speechless - the view was absolutely outstanding. Nestled on the very edge of the jungle and with each villa at a different level, the view from the infinity pool was something we will remember forever. The restaurant was closed for the first few days of our trip for refurbishment, so breakfast was delivered to our room which was fine with us as it meant we could enjoy the view some more. We ate every day next to our pool, and the breakfast was also a masterpiece. Consisting of lots of courses, we were left very well fed each morning. Each course was beautifully presented and delivered to us right on time each morning. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The amenities and linen felt very 'high-end' and luxurious, and the general decor and layout was beautiful - very different to anything else we saw in our time in Bali. Our room had a TV and even a wireless Bose speaker that we could use by the pool. The outdoor bathroom was well equipped and comfortable, with even a large granite bath next to a shutter to the bedroom which could be opened to enjoy that amazing view. The general layout of the room had clearly been very well thought through, and well executed too. On the outskirts of central Ubud, the hotel is in a very quiet area but still conveniently close to local amenities. A taxi into town would only take a few minutes, and there were always plenty of Grab's available so there was never a long wait. Thank you so much for such a truly wonderful stay.

Swimming in the wide private pool overlooking the jungle was one of the best moments in Bali. That was a perfect view. Sunset view was crazy!!! ❤️All staff was friendly and nice. We got room service everyday and all food were very delicious. We were impressed. The price of food was cheaper than another hotel in NUSA DUA but taste was much better :)

This hotel is located pretty inside not on the road so it was hard to find.(Even some drivers couldn't find it)It would be better if there is much bigger or noticeable sign on the road to recognize :) Some stuff smelled musty(small cushion, sunbed cushion). And room was bit humid (I think that's because of weather and location) so blanket wasn't dry and soft. It needs to be better for the price. (Dehumidifying would help)

we came here for a final stay of our honeymoon, recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. Not only did they decorate the room for us arriving but the staff made the entire stay so lovely. absolutely nothing was a bother to them. the views of the room are absolutely unreal and just enjoying the jungle was amazing! we got a massage also and can’t recommend enough, we were so relaxed afterwards! we had a card from the staff for our honeymoon plus a leaving gift - we honestly felt spoilt from start to end. wish we had stayed longer! it’s only around 15 mins from Ubud centre so really not far, we used a grab both days and it was easy!

we got the breakfast one day which was an amazing amount of food - however we’re both not big breakfast eaters so a smaller option for less would be brilliant.
