We love everything about this icon of Mysore, a delightful jewel in a famously lovely state. We loved the high Raj-era ceilings and thick (heat-defying) walls of the ground-floor suite (a special treat), which was spacious, decorated in gorgeous period furniture and lighting fixtures, including a claw-footed bathtub with shower, and had a lovely outdoor patio looking out over their lovely, well-manicured gardens. The food is unbelievably and reliably excellent. (I will love Mysore festival rice the rest of my days.) The service is efficient, warm, and courteous. No surprise, then, that this venerable hotel of traditional South Indian grace is much-beloved by locals, for whom it is a special-occasion breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and special-occasion venue. A must-stay if you can afford it without western-style expectations, and just enjoy what unfolds around you, which is the magic of India.

Lovely Heritage property. Courtyard for meals was beautiful, and set back from the road made it pretty quiet. Room was a good size and nicely appointed with period furnshings. Shower over claw tub was fine for us but may be difficult for others. Tiger tail restaurant excellent quality for dinner, although service a little hit and miss.

Claw tub over bath. Service in restaurant was a bit lacking - Indian families definitely seemed to get more preference over non-Indian tourists. Caution with mixed drinks - they charge per alcohol shot and it is not very transparent!

Lovely building with masses of character. Great location. Nice courtyard restaurant and food very good. Staff very helpful but a bit erratic at times

Indoor restaurant is echoey and has all the character of a school dining hall. Room was very close to the restaurant, with bass from music audible from 6.50am, although I was very happy that it was turned off when I mentioned it. Room furniture and bathroom need some maintenance/ updating. Pool tucked away in the corner, just behind the car park, so not very inviting.

Everything from the start to finish was great at this hotel, we had an amazing stay with my family and the staff went over the expectation to make our stay comfortable. Only the drilling noise from the next room was not always pleasant, but when we told the management about the noise, they managed to stop that. Thanks everyone for making our stay comfortable!

1) Having coffee/tea kettle on electric heater base on a sliding wooden plate in the side coset part of TV Table . Though that is good for space saving and appearance , it turned out bit inconvinent as we experienced difficulties in closing door after finishing due to wire curling inside and blocking the slider. Trying to uncurl the wire in the not visible back side by pulling the slider and pushing back the kettle, caused the kettle and heater base to fall from back side gap onto the bottom base of the table spilling some hot water ! Better could be a water heater set up that is fully separate from TV table. ( even at the front entrance room instead of bedroom area since this Maharaja suite has plenty of space)

Hotel is beautiful and well kept. Rooms are very clean with everything working as to be expected for such an establishment. Good location in Mysore.

Only downside was the staff in the restaurant. While the hotel staff and the bartender were all extremely friendly, in the restaurant we were generally ignored, with the menus thrown on the table and staff being very short and rude with us. We hoped this was a one off but when we tried to speak to two other serving staff it was a similar situation. Shame as the food was very nice.

Tha hotel was extremely good and their room were spacious and clean . There were no hassles in check in and check out

The house keeping service can be better we had to call several times to get what we wanted which was quite irritating they can or could have oragnaized the birthday party a little better with some decorations balloons as it was a child birthday

Excellent hotel and restaurant. We were a group of 19 friends travelling together and had a fantastic stay! So nice to stay in this hotel and not one of the clinical new build developments on the edge of town. The hotel has lots of charm, is in a perfect location to walk everywhere and the staff were lovely.

very good location, walking distance from Mysore railway station. Beautiful colonial building with lots of charm.

The Wi-Fi was haphazard and only allowed you to connect to devices which is a bit paltry in this day and age for a couple. Staff were very friendly and helpful but probably slightly understaffed when the restaurant was full, resulting in a fair bit of delay.

We loved the hotel, our room, the pool and restaurant. This is a heritage hotel with a rich history. We appreciated the historic features in the hotel and our room and guests who appreciate history and going back in time will love this stay.

We liked everything about the hotel and will stay there again.
