Hotel Keflavik by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

Tidy, clean, and spacious room, with comfortable bed. Amenities within the room, such as coffee machine and kettle were very useful. Bathroom was very spacious with good range of hygiene products. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was good and diverse. Dinner served at the hotel and quality of the food was very good with a diversified menu diversified, having some more affordable choices and fine dining meals. Suficient parking spots nearside the hotel all reserved for hotel guests. Fairly close to the return car spots at the Reykjavik airport and close to the airport overall.

We received a free upgrade to a diamond suite, and our night shift manager was very kind. Check in and out was fast and efficient. Breakfast was a real bonanza. The room itself was luxurious and high tech, with all sorts of light controls and different settings for the shower and bath.

The outdoor jacuzzi wasn't working, so we had to figure out how to make it work ourselves - eventually we figured out how to fill it up, but the button panel wasn't working at all. The hotel should consider hiring housekeeping staff for the holiday period as well. We got the jacuzzi through a free upgrade though, so we couldn't complain. Don't be fooled by the name of the hotel. It's a 10-minute taxi ride (~30 Euro) from Keflavik Airport.

Hotel is ok, not too far from te airport (10mn by car), but far fromeverything else. We had a suite so size was ok. B&O TV was superb. Restaurant was nice too, except we had to wait a long time for having already cold plates.

Beware of the very small rooms of the 1st floor, facing a parking and in the noise of compressors from the kitchens. Furnitures in the suite prevents you from moving as there are tables and chairs of a strange taste everywhere. Too much is too much. A sofa + 2 armchairs for 2 persons ? 4 little tables ? what for ? And the decoration of the hall...

We only stayed for about 10 hours, the night before an early flight. The room is a bit small for 3 people (two single beds and a sofa bed), but the beds were very comfortable, luxury toiletries provided, fluffy towels- and the water did not smell of sulphur as in our previous apartment. The restaurant and bar were full on a Saturday night, very nice atmosphere. Quick check in and check out. Nice Italian and other restaurants in walking distance (under 1 kilometer) if you want to eat out an not in the hotel restaurant. Bar stays open late, free parking, great to catch an early flight as only 5-10 mins drive to airport.

Limited storage for luggage if a family stays, but fine for a short stay

Hotel was fantastic ! GREAT staff …so pleasant and helpful ! they all seem to love their job - they were all exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always a very personal interaction with us. Furnishings were fantastic…loved the pictures and decor. very cosy and welcoming.

Food looked delicious but unfortunately didn’t hit the spot. Lacked heat, which concerned me as I think hot food should be served hot. Soup was warm, for my dinner I had lamb which again wasn’t hot and sadly was very tough…struggled to cut through it and chewing was hard work…a bit disappointing. Breakfast was also another less than hot meal. Although the food was positioned under lighting it wasn’t keeping anything even warm…I stuck to cold pastries after the first disappointing breakfast. I didn’t complain as we had been given dinner free of charge due to a booking problem …so would have been embarrassing to complain when the Management had been so apologetic !

Close to the airport, clean, and the best part was the staff. Our flight got in in the middle of the night and we were very tired. The staff on duty made the check-in process very seamless and quick. The next morning we were trying to get a taxi to our camper rental place, the young lady at the front desk made every effort to call a taxi for us. Eventually she was able to reach a taxi service and found out that the wait was going to be over an hour, so instead she got the hotel van and dropped us off at the location. It was a such a nice gesture and it set the tone for our amazing trip to Iceland.

nothing - everything was perfect

Breakfast offerings included a wide variety of fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, bacon, etc. Excellent compared to other hotels in Iceland. Our room had lots of windows which provided an airy feeling. The bed was delightful and we slept quite well! Staff was friendly and the hotel offered restaurants, workout rooms, sauna, solarium, and a full bar.

The only criticisms we have are that the bathroom had a few discolored spots on the walls and caulking, and the tub was slippery and had a high side which made it a bit difficult to get into.

Comfortable, modern room, well decorated with all the ameneties you would expect. Staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. A perfect stay close to the airport with plenty of nearby free parking. Breakfast offering was great with plenty to choose from and they even do Gluten Free bread upon request. Restaurant was great, good meals and nice staff - just what we needed after our flight. I would 100% stay here again.

The hotel is situated close by the airport which was convenient for us as we had an early flight. Hotel Keflavik oozes luxury with Versace tiles and quality furniture and finishings. We were luckily enough to be upgraded to the Diamond Suite which was amazing with our own private hot tub. Comfy bed. We had supper at their restaurant glasshouse and the food was so good. Breakfast was a buffet served from 5:30am and had a big variety of fresh food. Staff were all polite and friendly.

There was not a lot of parking available but we found a spot across the road. No jams at breakfast buffet. I am a light sleeper and could hear the humming from the hot tub all night.

We liked everything We arrived to the hotel and the kind person at the front desk did not find our reservation but to our surprise we had been upgraded to a Diamond suite, we originally booked a junior suite. So I can not write a review about our room that we should have been in but if you ever get a chance to book the Diamond suite(if you have the funds) I would definitely do that(but the price is pretty high though) but overall we like the upgrade and had a real pleasant stay at the suite. Everything there was nice through out and the amenities where it should have been at the standard that they value it for was spot on(this is my wife and my opinion) The restaurant : Food was great, we had a starter,main and a desert all of them was outstanding. It has been a long time since my wife & I had been happy with all three meals.....but it happened at this restaurant. Staff at the restaurant where exceptional, we liked them. They where up 100% on their game and did not miss a beat. Breakfast : I am a simple guy....I only need bacon&eggs and a fruit juice, my wife commented on that it was nice to have this good bread, good toppings on the bread and some fresh fruits on the side. Overall the breakfast was standard/basic and that is how we like to have it......not overly complicated or to much of it or lack there off....it was just simply right. Location : It is basically downtown in Keflavik, there are supermarkets and restaurants in 5 minutes walk and even I suggested that we would walk to the supermarket(I don´t do much walking, I prefer driving) The hotel : When you look at pictures of the hotel and inside the hotel.....believe it or not these pictures are as good as in real life at the hotel. The guy in charge......one hell of a guy.....it is always nice to see when people know what they are doing and they are doing great.

Well we liked all, but if I would need to nitpick on something then it would be the sound from the water drain from the Jacuzzi ....we stayed in the sapphire room where we had balcony and a jacuzzi and the water flowing from the jacuzzi could disturb some guest but we thought that it sounded like continues rain so it did not bother us that much.
