The hotel is located in Hveragerdi, a small town about 30 km from the capital Reykjavik, and a perfect location to organize the visit to the Golden Circle and South Coast without going back and forth between hotels. Upon arrival, you will find plenty of free parking spaces. The check-in was flawless, and we had two options, either an app called AeroGuest, where you can do a self-check-in, or just at the front desk. The whole process takes about 2 minutes. The key is just a code used to open the door. Very handy. The decor is lovely. Hveragerdi is well known for being the hot spring town and the flowers and green town. This hotel gives you exactly that—a taste of green, market, super cool place. Around the lobby, you will find a local Ice cream shop for all kinds of local things distributed in an open market. Everything has been very well crafted, from clothes, food, and beauty items. The rooms (Standard Double) are fair in size at about 18 sqm if I'm correct. It doesn't feel small or claustrophobic, and you have enough space to move around with luggage. There is a kind of sofa where you can also accommodate your stuff. A Nespresso machine, with included coffee pods, is available in the room, and a small fridge with Icelandic Glacier water. A flat TV screen with plenty of US and UK channels, and a lot, and I mean a lot of hooks all around the room to hang your clothes. This is a big plus and what other hotels fail all the time. The room style is lovely, simple, but efficient. Lovely touch to have a lookalike Massimo Vignelli bedside lamp, I'm not sure if they are original, but it doesn't matter because they look fantastic. Plenty of power outlets beside the bed and around the room. The bathroom is small but acceptable. Very clean and has a hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner from Sóley Organic collection. A beautiful little touch would be a box with items we may have forgotten to take with us, and available for an extra charge if we

Loved the restaurants, the food was so good we even ate there a few times when we weren’t even staying. Loved the funky vibe of the hotel, Great location. great washrooms, very nice decor, very clean but the beds were unacceptable.

Would have loved the room but the beds were so hard. For the price we paid this was unacceptable and surprising. We booked the family suite for the extra bed for our grown son. The main bed had some extra padding but still hard, and his bed was a rock hard platform. we stayed in 8 places on our trip, this was our most expensive stay and our most uncomfortable sleep.

Loved, loved this hotel! Beautiful large rooms with long bench for seating. Nice sized bathroom with roomy shower and lots of towels with a extra toiletries for purchase in a nice basket in the bathroom if you forgot something. Reception and gift shop open 24 hours so getting in late is not a problem. Food Hall right in the hotel along with an ice cream shop. We only stayed one night but wish we had given ourselves another day here. We didn't have breakfast included but did purchase breakfast in the morning at the hotel and it was perfect, yoghurt, coffee and pastries but had the option of purchasing their buffet breakfast.

We loved our stay at The Greenhouse. The rooms were great and spacious. Our teens loved the apps on the TV's. The food courtyard downstairs had something for everyone. We used the bakery nearby for breakfast and supermarket for snacks and lunches. The location was excellent to explore the local area. Overall a very relaxed stay after several days of full road trips and sightseeing in other areas of Iceland.

The daily early morning deliveries underneath our window were loud. It's the only thing that let the hotel down.

Excellent hotel, its not a 5 star but wasnt expecting it to be, it is very good though, has everything you need for an overnight hotel thats being used as a base for exploring. To me the location is excellent 40min from Reykjavik, 1hr to Thingvallir, 1.5hr to Gullfoss, 1.5hr to Skogafoss means its central for most of the south of the island. I did think about stopping in Reykjavik but then it is starting to stretch the travelling to some of the sights, as youre at the end of the island. Doing Diamond Beach from Reykjavik would be a very long day. Also with not being centre of town its a more cost effective option. Theres a bakery 150yds from the hotel that does sandwiches and sweet treats, a pizza place and a small supermarket next to that along with a chemists. Theres a fuel station in the bakery car park so has just about everything you need for a travelling base. The hotel has a small cafe / coffee bar with pastries and drinks for breakfast. It also has a food court with Noodle bar, Fish and chips / Iceland type sandwiches (Lamb / Beef), Taco bar and a burger bar which we food to be very good. can get busy on a weekend as locals use it - which is always a good sign. The clothing shop in reception also has some nice bits in it. Top tip - the radiators do make the room very hot if turned up full (its behind the bench seat at the window) if you turn it down to about 2.5 on the adjustable valve thats a nice mid temp and doesnt get too hot through the night under the very warm duvets.

Great hotel concept and design. Liked their approach to being more environmentally conscious as plenty of hotels say they are, but they aren’t really. This hotel felt more authentic and took it more seriously. Rooms were comfortable, easy check in with the room number and entry code being sent the day before.

Food hall atmosphere was great. Plenty of local people eating and drinking which was a good sign but did go to better food halls in Reykjavik. Coffee was good but breakfast wasn’t really worth it as it was pretty overpriced for what it was. There’s a Bonus across the road if you did want something.

Especially the food court with many different options was nice. Bar nice too. Rooms ok. Very near bakery, grossers, tourist information etc.

The code system on the doors made it impossible to enter before 3pm. That is pretty stupid when the room must have been cleaned long before that. No activity on our room from staff last hour before 3pm. Breakfast was not included. But the bakery 50 meters away at the shopping center was marvelous.

There is a Hawker Type restaurant complex, with a good choice of different foods, all of which were very good, we switched to this hotel for a second stay and stayed here at the end of our trip. The drive to Keflavik Airport from here is easy as well and avoids the traffic

There is no breakfast you have to use a coffee shop which is poor, but other coffee shops in the town are superb, The hotel is in the town and we stayed over a Friday night, lots of locals were using the Hawker Restaurants and it wasn't quiet until about 1 am. On our second visit, the room heating was not working and it took time to sort it out, at minus 10c outside your room can be freezing as well!

First and foremost, the staff made us feel so welcomed! They continued to exceed our expectations and helped make our stay one of the major highlights of our trip. The room was spotless! The bed was comfy, the pillows were perfect and we always had a hot shower. We were never disturbed by noisy guests. Their coffee and pastries were all excellent and the gift shop has a nice selection. Then there’s the food hall! A good variety of options are available and the fish & chips we had were delicious. If we’re able to return to Iceland, we’ll be staying here again and will highly recommend them to anyone visiting the area.

Amazing hotel atmosphere. Check in counter under the roof of a build in greenhouse. Great food court with plenty of choices. I had a traditional fish soup. AMAZING. Very nice staff. Beer tasting with very caring bar tender. In-hotel shopping with traditional and local brands. Great selection of items. Breakfast deals as hotel guest at the check in counter breakfast bar. Very taste croissants and cookies and tasty coffee. Overall a great total experience!

The rooms are not very cosy looking, more functional. Pin boards with free entry tickets to local swimming though. Everywhere a bit cold in winter (cool rooms, especially the bathroom, heating did not work here). Also fresh at the food court, so I had to keep my jacket on during the whole stay.
