Hotel Byzantino

The bed was good and the location couldn't be better. Atmosphere in de communal places is good.

After 2 days the breakfast started to make me less happy, it was a bit basic. The room had some typical small thingies older hotel buildings can have (second floor room), like one window not opening and clearly for some time already, one clothing hook in bathroom incomplete, fridge door not closing easily. but these are acceptable thing for this price, but also are things that seem easy to fix.

The lobby and common areas were decorated nicely, making it a very nice experience being there. Also the bathroom items (shampoo, etc) were of high quality.

While breakfast was complimentary, and quite nice, "special" coffee, like espresso, was charged extra. Typically smaller boutique hotels like this one do not have such hidden charges. It's not about the cost, it's about the mentality.

The location was great and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good.

My only comment would be that it needed a bit of TLC from someone with an eye for detail . So for instance bedroom lights not all working and 4k bulbs made the room feel harsh, shower head drooping off the rail etc. all minor stuff but can make a difference.

The room was a good size and comfortable. Mostly everywhere looked very clean, the staff were kind. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout until time to go for the ferry, and there was plenty of space to sit in comfort on the ground level.

Unfortunately, breakfast time was disappointing. We had our small grandson with us and the high chair provided had not been cleaned since previous uses. Also it would have been good to have some fresh fruit available.

The Byzantino was a pleasant surprise find, a quiet oasis in a vibrant central street. The building was steeped in history and perfectly maintained in a very professional way with respect for the age of the property. The staff were second to none I have experienced and were welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive.

The common spaces are exceptional. Our room was visually, very beautiful, but a little noisy as we couldn’t use the air conditioning because it smelled mouldy. However the location is exceptional

Would we stay here again- Yes! Friendliness of the staff, fantastic location, public area decor and ambience was so different from a normal city centre hotel. An oasis of tranquility from the hustle and bustle of the city streets.

We booked an executive room but were changed to the family suite room 202. No windows to look out of so quite dark, even though it had skylights. Bathroom was in need of updating, lots of screw holes in walls where fittings had changed. No tea/coffee making facilities. Small changes would make a big difference. Have matching clothes hangers in the wardrobe - looks like left behinds from previous guests as opposed to supplied by hotel. Bedding that fits the bed, mattress and pillow protectors.

It is an elegant small hotel in the centre of the city and entertainment precinct. The staff were charming, especially Gerasimos,? as well as the other staff. I stayed there decades ago with my parents, so it was a bit of a nostalgia trip for me. Over the years, the hotel has become somewhat more luxurious, but remains thankfully unpretentious.

Can't really think of what could have been better. It was fine.

We are a family of 5. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s lovey, decorated in a very fashion and chic way, located in the only-pedestrian streets. The parking garage is next-door and only costs 10 euros per day. Rooms are well sized and clean. Staff is very nice and friendly, the front desk gal, Nora, was sweet and helpful at all times. Breakfast was good. Nice variety of restaurants and coffee shops within 300 mts. We asked for an extra bed and at no cost a baby cot was ready for us. Excellent excellent, we loved it!!!

Hotel location in the center of the city, tranquility, staff availability, background music, breakfast. purity.

Small insects that bite in the room. The ventilator of the toilet didn't function.
