Hotel Eisenhut

We had a 2 night stay here and would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel seems to be housed in 3 separate buildings, so you might need to be specific if you have a preference on where you want to stay for any specific reason/view. We were housed in the building opposite the main/reception one which was perfectly ok. The hotel is located in the historic centre of Rothenburg a couple of minutes walk from the market square with plenty of restaurants nearby. It is also around 20 minutes walk from the train station. The whole historic centre is very walkable from the hotel, so you're not far away from anything you may wish to see or do. Personal highlights were the Night Watchman tour and walking the length of the medieval city wall -I would strongly recommend doing both if you are able! Overall we found the hotel to be good value, meeting all of our needs, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The location was gorgeous, it sits on the main street of Rothenburg just across a cute cafe and some other shopfronts. The staff were very friendly, and there were plenty of areas to relax within the property. I regret not exploring it fully, for I know the 'biergarden' looked very cute but never had a chance to hang there. Great value, rooms were nice, and I enjoyed the location thoroughly.

Ceiling fans (or fans of any sort) would have been nice, it's gets quite stuffy, maybe it's an american thing, but everywhere we stayed in Germany had zero air flow which makes sleeping hot (we're not overweight lol). The breakfast was a little pricey, but as we opted out, I can't comment on the quality.

Location perfect, staff friendly.

We didn't like the way it looked like breakfast was included but it was an extra 15 Euro each. I know we should have asked.

This is an incredible hotel! I booked a room on Booking. com and I got an unbelievable balcony with an amazing view in room 240. The terrace bar was lovely and peaceful as well! The beds are comfy and the staff was sweet!

Everything was amazing except the shower and bathtub. The bathtub is rounded and has no place to get a grip hold to get out and is very slippery. They need to provide a simple rubber gripper for the shower bottom because it is difficult to move without slipping. Also…the water goes all over the floor which you discover after managing to get out. Luckily, they provide lots of towels!

All employees in the hotel and restaurant were fantastic. The area is beautiful and a great sunset view on the southwest side of town is only a 5 minute walk.

The breakfast was good but not worth the charged price in my wife's and my opinions. Check in was only a bit confusing due to 2 building with the same name across from each other, but walking into the main building clears that up quickly. The walls in the old building across the street are not very noise insulated and easy to hear your neighbor if they make noise like ours did. It is an old building and to be expected a bit.

Stayed in Rothenburg for one night, and the Hotel Eisenhut was a good choice for us. It's directly in the city center, you can walk to just about any major location in town. The building is old, but the rooms have been modernized maintaining the old feeling of the hotel. We had a good view of the valley from our room. A buffet breakfast is available.

We found the double bed uncomfortable: it was made from two separate beds placed close together but not joined. A frame around the beds or a latch would have solved the problem preventing separation.

We stayed in Bavaria for two weeks during the Christmas market season. We only had one night in Rothenburg, but we had a lovely stay in this hotel. The hotel is centrally located just a block from the town square and the meeting place for the Night Watchman Tour (which I highly recommend!). The staff at check-in were friendly and multi-lingual and the hotel was full of historic charm. It was like walking through our own castle or medieval manor. The breakfast was great, and even though we overslept and got there ten minutes before closing, the staff were kind enough to leave everything out for us so we could eat.

My only regret was that we only booked one night in this charming hotel and town. Would definitely stay here again.

great location, beautiful old building, comfortable bed, warm duvets, huge room, bathroom was larger than most hotel rooms. Young man at the desk was very friendly and helpful, and when we asked about a kettle, he dropped everything and ran and got us one.

room was ice cold, but to be fair it was record low temps and also energy crisis, so we felt compelled to use as little energy as possible. and we were very comfortable under the thick fluffy duvets.

This is our third stay at Hotel Eisenhut, and we have never been disappointed. The rooms are very nicely appointed and clean. We had two rooms, and they each had a fan that helped with the summer heat. The elevator was very helpful for the older family member traveling with us. breakfast was amazing and fresh. The staff is truly wonderful, warm, welcoming and helpful. And the location can’t be beat!

The private hotel parking area is a few blocks away, but that is not unusual for these towns and it was otherwise convenient.

The interior of the room was cute and the bed was spacious. It was close to the center and had good access. The staff were Japanese and very kind to those of us who didn't speak English.

I couldn't use the hair dryer so I couldn't dry my hair. As soon as I turned it on for about 10 seconds, the dryer stopped working. It doesn't move for 5 minutes after that.
