Parkhotel Sonnenhof

Breakfast was excellent and offered many options. Dining room exceptionally clean, organized and comfortable. The proximity to town was perfect, just a few minutes walk across the River and there! Just adjacent to the hotel is a small playground where we enjoyed playing table tennis with our grandson while the younger child played on the play equipment (for the younger set). The rooms were comfortable and in the traditional Bavarian style. We enjoyed having a nice balcony to sit and enjoy the wonderful view.

The shower in our bathroom was not draining properly and caused us to call for service twice. Parking was somewhat limited; but we always managed to find a spot.

Location was fantastic in Oberammergau. Many restaurants are within easy walking distance, including the one inside the hotel itself. Very good location if you are attending the NATO school. Incredible staff.

It was very warm during my stay. Room had lots of ventilation, but without a fan to help move air around it felt very stuffy and stale. There were string lights right outside my room. They turn them off at midnight I think, but it was bright while trying to fall asleep.

It was right next to the cross country trails and a short walk to the main town. They had an excellent selection for breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. If we return for skiing again in Oberammergau we will stay here again!

The hotel was completely booked and so parking was a little bit tricky. We chose to walk sometimes just to ensure we wouldn’t have to go looking for a car park on our return. A minor problem, but just something to be aware of on busy weekends in the hotel.

The staff is very nice and always helpful. At the restaurant they even have some staff that speaks Spanish. This was really nice for my parents who where here for vacations. The rooms are big and very clean. We had a nice balcony with an amazing view of the mountain. The location is really good. I fully recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

Large corner room with balcony. Friendly welcome and guided to our room. Easy parking. Short stroll into town centre. Only stayed overnight did not go into spa area.

Bathroom fairly small compared with a very good sized room, but still clean and functional. The FM radio control by the bed looked rather dated …could do with an upgrade?

Everything, but above all the presence of a restaurant and bar, the swimming pool, which is little, but has long opening hours. The view from the hotel is beautiful and it is in a quiet location, though the town centre is only 5 minutes' walk away.

I stayed in hotel with my family. We got a big room on upper floor with large double bed and sofa-bed for two kids. The room was clean and spatious with nice view towards the centre of Oberammergau. Kids enjoyed swimming pool and pancakes for breakfast!

Super clean, very friendly staff. by the river, very comfortable room. Very nice breakfast.

The room itself (102) was great, but being so close to the dining room and kitchen it was noisy during meal times. The porch was overlooking the parking lot, which also wasn’t fun. it’s about a 10 min walk to the center.

The meals were excellent, I really enjoyed the restaurant's menu and breakfasts. The stuff was extremally helpful and friendly. The sauna was also amazing. Highly recommended!

The wifi is very bad. There was not enough parking on site and we had to park down the street a couple of nights. If you are attending the NATO school and want to get the NATO discount you must book directly through the hotel reservation desk.
