MEININGER Hotel München City Center

Great kitchen - spacious and clean and all utensils provided. The rooms were spacious and comfortable too. Lovely staff - friendly and the barista in the morning made an epic coffee! There was a fire alarm in the morning and the staff were responsive and waited for the fire department to let us go back in. Bathroom in the 4 bed private was huge size and really nice. This was the best hostel we’ve stayed in in Germany. Extra pillow provided free of charge for one of our group members who is pregnant. 3 minutes from closest tram which takes you into the heart of Munich - Marienplatz.

Could do with a couple more washers and dryers. Walls are a bit thin- we may have just been unlucky with the neighbours!

Great breakfast with good quality and variety of foods. Beds were comfortable. Toilet area and shower were separate so 2 people could use at the same time. Staff was very helpful with tour ideas and metro ticket purchases, very knowledgable. Nice location, close to metro stop that gets you to the train or city center within 2-3 stops. You could also walk to city center within about a half hour. We had a private room for 5 which actually had enough beds for 6. Nice Bavarian restaurant right across the street and we even used a barber a few doors down. Good luggage storage space if you need that between check out and actual departure from the city - it allowed us to squeeze in another day of activities. Common kitchen available for cooking and food storage. Private reading light and electricity socket at each bed.

Very little space in the room but that's what we expected. They have nice storage spaces in the room for luggage but having 5 people made it a little snug. We put luggage under the beds. It's very much like a hostel.

The room was as expected. There were 5 of us staying in a private 6 bed room, they were all bunk beds. We didn't mind. we had a bathroom, clean sheets and fresh towels. the location was central for Munich. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We asked for one clean and change of towels whilst we were there. This was done with no problem. We checked out at 2pm and paid 15 euros to do so, again, no problem at all. We knew what we were getting and it was perfect for our week. We had breakfast most mornings and enjoyed the food.

We were surprised(negatively) that Auto-parking place is not free of charge for accommodated guests/clients, moreover, they charged us for one night parking 12.90euro, what is really unpropriate action towards own guests

Very nice dorm, fully equipped bathroom inside the room (soap, shower gel, hair dryer), very clean, linens, towels. soft and comfortable bed (it doesn't even squeak!), lots of outlets, a small table, big wardrobe, big windows, dark courtains. WiFi works great as well and there's a nice area downstairs to hang out.

Minor inconvenience - the common bathroom downstairs is small, there's only one, and there was no soap.

Like with most Meininger hotels, I was very satisfied with my stay in Munich. The hotel's location is great - three trams stop away from the central train station, and from there across the city and to the airport. The value was appropriate and the staff were courteous, informative, and very helpful for all needs. The room was honestly quite large for a hostel, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and convenient, and the general vibe was relaxed. Overall would definitely recommend to stay here.

It was really nice. Friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom. Even though it was 12 bed room, it was seperated by a door (6-6 beds) therefore made the space quite private and spacious.

It didn't had any lock in the 12 bedroom. Definately needed. Also the kitchen was very small for such a big hostel.

Dormitory beds are big, wider than regular bunk beds and the top bed is high, so there is enough space to comfortably sit. The bed was really comfortable for me, mattress is the hard side, which suits me. Rooms were cleaned every day, bathroom was spacious.

There are no lockers in the dormitories. The paid lockers are in the basement which is a bit inconvenient.

Everything was clean, the room was cleaned every day. The staff was friendly and available 24h. We had hairdryer, soap and shower gel in the bathroom. The location was close to S-bahn Station and it took around 10 minutes to get to the city centre by S-bahn and 20 minutes by foot. The area seemed really safe despite the proximity to the central station. The hotel is also close to a shopping centre where you can find fast food restaurants and supermarkets (Lidl, dm..)

The bathroom doors had a gap on the lower part and you could hear anything from and into the room.

Good location, only 12 minute walk to the central station and 25 minutes to the center. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was as expected, enough space with separate toilet and shower. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean.

There is no air conditioning and so the room was very warm. It is on a noisy street and you can hear traffic and people at all hours.
